Chapter 201.1

Lin An Lan had just asked the question nervously, so when he heard this answer, he simply accepted it.
“Then Mom, you have to tell them that Sister Xiao Qiao is a good girl.”
“Alright, Mom will do that.”
Lin An Lan was satisfied. “Thank you, Mom.”
“You’re welcome.” Yu Hanshuang ruffled his hair.
Cheng Yu was already sitting in the car, and seeing that they were taking their time, he urged, “Hurry up and get in!”
Only then did Yu Hanshuang take Lin An Lan and get in the car.
As soon as Lin An Lan got in, he thought about how his mom had taken him on so many different rides, switching between big cars and small cars, and without thinking, he scooted closer to Cheng Yu and held his hand.
Cheng Yu felt happy when he saw Lin An Lan take his hand first. He secretly gave it a little squeeze, then squeezed it again.
Lin An Lan looked down at him. “Why do you keep squeezing my hand?”
Cheng Yu was a little embarrassed. He lifted Lin An Lan’s hand to show Yu Hanshuang. “Mom, my little brother’s hands are so soft, super soft, just like a kitten’s paws.”
Yu Hanshuang chuckled softly. “Aren’t your hands soft too?”
“Not as soft as my little brother’s.”
As Cheng Yu said this, he gave it another squeeze.
Lin An Lan secretly squeezed his hand back.
Cheng Yu quickly squeezed back, and Lin An Lan squeezed again.
Yu Hanshuang watched their little actions and thought that children’s happiness was really so simple.
Just squeezing each other’s hands like this was enough to keep them so entertained. It was really cute.
Once Lin An Lan and Cheng Yu had squeezed hands enough, they leaned against each other and looked out at the scenery outside the window.
It wasn’t long before they entered the villa area. Cheng Yu whispered to him, “We’re almost there.”
Lin An Lan looked at the rows of big houses that looked like the ones he’d seen on TV before, and blinking subconsciously, he asked, “Is it in those big houses?”
“En.”
“So big.”
Cheng Yu was very proud. “Ours is the biggest! Super big! It’s this big!”
Lin An Lan was even more surprised. “So big.”
Cheng Yu was so proud that his tail was practically wagging.
The driver stopped in front of the Cheng family’s villa, and Cheng Yu led Lin An Lan down, striking a pose like, “This is my kingdom.” and said, “This is my house.”
Lin An Lan thought this wasn’t a house—it was a park.
“Does your family live in a park?” He asked very innocently.
Yu Hanshuang immediately burst out laughing.
Lin An Lan looked up at her, not understanding why she was laughing.
And looking at his big innocent eyes, Yu Hanshuang said softly, “Baby, you’re so cute.”
A little embarrassed from the compliment, Lin An Lan smiled shyly. Then he went back to looking at the big house, the huge garden in front of it, the big sculptures, and the big fountain.
He kind of wanted to play but didn’t dare, so he just stood close to Cheng Yu.
Cheng Yu led him forward, and Yu Hanshuang opened the door. Then together, they went inside.

Cheng Feng was rarely at home today. It was probably because he remembered that his wife and son were going to adopt a child, so he came home early to check things out.
Seeing him, Cheng Yu called out happily, “Dad.”
Cheng Feng smiled, “Xiao Yu is back.”
“En.” Without even changing his shoes, he dragged Lin An Lan in front of Cheng Feng, “Dad, this is my little brother.”
Cheng Feng looked at the unfamiliar little boy in front of him. Truth be told, he had already noticed Lin An Lan the moment he walked in.
This kid looked great—just the type Yu Hanshuang would like. His skin was fair, his eyes were clear and bright, with distinct black and white, and he gave off an impression of being sharp.
“What’s your name?” He asked.
“Lin An Lan.”
“Then you’ll keep using this name from now on.” He said calmly.
Lin An Lan and Cheng Yu were too young to catch the deeper meaning behind these words, but Yu Hanshuang picked up on it instantly.
Parents usually decided on a child’s name, and many families chose to give their adopted children a new name as the first step. It wasn’t because they were rejecting the child’s past but because they wanted to start building a parent-child relationship and give the child a new future.
But now, Cheng Feng had said this.
Even though Yu Hanshuang had no intention of registering Lin An Lan under the Cheng family household, hearing his words still made her unhappy.
She softly said, “Xiao Yu, you and An An haven’t changed your shoes yet. Come over and change them first.”
Only then did Cheng Yu remember that he hadn’t changed his shoes. He pulled Lin An Lan over, and they changed their shoes together.
Yu Hanshuang found a pair of slippers she had bought for Cheng Yu but hadn’t used yet. “An An, wear these.”
Lin An Lan said politely, “Thank you, Mom.”
“You’re welcome.”
Cheng Feng noticed that she was ignoring him and guessed she must be upset about what he’d just said. However he couldn’t help it. Once they adopted Lin An Lan, he would legally have the right to inherit the Cheng family’s assets. However Lin An Lan wasn’t his biological son, and he didn’t want him getting any false ideas—or worse, really believe that everything in the Cheng family was his for the taking.
He only acknowledged Cheng Yu as his son. Everything he had belonged to Cheng Yu alone. No one else—no matter who they were or if they had any blood relation to him—was qualified to inherit his wealth.
Getting up, he walked over to Yu Hanshuang, and said gently, “You’ve been out all day. What do you want to eat? I’ll ask the kitchen to make it.”
“Whatever.” Yu Hanshuang was clearly still annoyed.
Cheng Feng didn’t get mad. “Then let’s have them steam some buns. Didn’t you say a few days ago that you wanted soup dumplings and steamed dumplings? Let’s go with that. We’ll add some shrimp congee. Does that sound good?”
Seeing that he remembered the food she had mentioned casually a few days ago, Yu Hanshuang felt less upset. “Alright.”
Then lowering her head, she asked Cheng Yu and Lin An Lan, “What do you guys want to eat?”
“I want ribs.” Cheng Yu said.
“I’m fine with anything.” Lin An Lan showed his good side actively. “I’m not picky.”
Smiling, Yu Hanshuang took his hand and said, “Come on, Mom will take you to your room.”
After saying this, she turned to Cheng Feng and said again, “This is Dad. An An, call him Dad.”
“Dad.” Lin An Lan said obediently.
Cheng Feng’s lips curled into a smile slightly, however the smile didn’t reach his eyes. Luckily, Lin An Lan didn’t notice and so didn’t feel sad.
“There’s also a grandpa at home, but he’s not here right now. When he comes back, Mom will introduce you to him.”
“Okay.”
“Come on, Mom, let’s go check out little brother’s room.” Cheng Yu said excitedly. “Dad, you come too.”
“Alright.” Cheng Feng agreed without hesitation and followed them to Lin An Lan’s room.
