Chapter 164.2 [Extra one]

Sitting in the car on the way to the Cheng family’s mansion, Lin An Lan couldn’t shake off the strange feeling. He had never liked the Cheng family and had no desire to interact with them. Yet, here he was, on his way to their home.

Meanwhile Jiang Xu, who had previously been eager to become a part of the Cheng family, had never visited this old mansion.

It was quite nostalgic in a way.

But thankfully, Jiang Xu had kept his promise and hadn’t contacted the Cheng family since then. It was a responsible decision for his own sake and for his future.

He glanced at Cheng Yu. Of course, this was also good for Cheng Yu.

Cheng Yu drove steadily and before long, they arrived home.

As Lin An Lan got out of the car and looked at the magnificent mansion in front of him, his mood became even more complex.

Cheng Yu put his arm around him and led him inside, instructing the household staff, “An An has some things in the car, go fetch them.”

The staff nodded, took the car keys, then left.

And seeing them arrive, Cheng Feng welcomed them to sit on the sofa then asked, “What does An Lan like to eat? Xiao Yu, go tell the kitchen.”

Cheng Yu didn’t want Lin An Lan to be alone with them, so he called a chef over, confirmed the menu, then added a few dishes that Lin An Lan liked.

Seeing this, Cheng Xiao was a bit unhappy. “I’m not going to eat him.”

“You won’t?” Cheng Yu retorted, “You probably wanted to but didn’t get a chance to swallow him.”

This angered Cheng Xiao so much that he hit the table but didn’t say anything.

Cheng Feng sighed, “Say a few less words.”

Cheng Yu chuckled lightly, took an orange from the fruit platter, peeled it for Lin An Lan, then handed it to him.

“Thank you.” Lin An Lan took it and quietly ate the orange.

It was quite sweet and juicy. Lin An Lan took a few bites and offered half to Cheng Yu who, instead of taking it, leaned over and asked him to feed him.

Looking at him with his mouth open slightly, Lin An Lan smiled helplessly then put the orange into his mouth. “Is it good?”

Cheng Yu smiled as he looked at him, “It’s quite sweet.”

Then he added, “I want more.”

So Lin An Lan fed him another piece.

Cheng Feng and Cheng Xiao couldn’t bear to look directly at them, so they silently watched TV, feeling that their eyes hurt.

Cheng Yu didn’t care about them. After sharing the orange with Lin An Lan, he peeled another one and then went to wash his hands.

And seeing him finally leave, Cheng Feng turned to look at Lin An Lan. Lin An Lan happened to raise his head just then, and meeting his gaze, he smiled at him gently.

He really had the kind of face that easily evoked goodwill in people, Cheng Feng thought to himself. Handsome and pleasant, with features like those in a painting. When not smiling, there was a distant coolness about him, but when he smiled, he was as warm as jade, like a gentleman from ancient books.

Cheng Feng owed him a favor for not pursuing his father’s rashness earlier, so he didn’t want to say anything too harsh now. He just asked, “Xiao Yu said you two plan to get married next year.”

Lin An Lan was slightly surprised by this. He didn’t know about it since Cheng Yu hadn’t mentioned it.

But he did have such plans himself, so even if he guessed that Cheng Yu was deliberately saying it for Cheng Feng’s benefit, he still smiled and nodded, “We do have such plans.”

“Isn’t it too early for that?” Cheng Xiao asked him.

“Neither Cheng Yu nor I are that young anymore.” Lin An Lan maintained his smiling demeanor.

Cheng Xiao found him a bit displeasing, but since there was nothing he could do about him, he just didn’t look at him and turned to the TV instead.

It was Cheng Feng who, after hesitating, still asked him, “Are you serious?”

“Of course.” Lin An Lan asked back, “Will you come then?”

Cheng Xiao snorted while Cheng Feng thought about it for a moment before nodding, “Xiao Yu is my son, so if he’s getting married, of course I’ll go.”

Cheng Xiao looked at him in shock, “What are you saying? You’ve agreed!”

“What difference does it make whether I agree or not?” Cheng Feng asked him. “It’s still a wedding, just whether or not I’m present as a father.”

Cheng Xiao: ….

Cheng Xiao suddenly felt even angrier.

Lin An Lan looked at Cheng Xiao who was filled with pent-up anger but helpless and felt a bit pleased.

He wasn’t a saint. He remembered how Cheng Xiao had wanted to harm him. If it weren’t for Cheng Yu putting Pei Qiu by his side first and then seizing power from the Cheng family, Cheng Xiao, this old stubborn man might have done something to him.

“In that case, you’re welcome to come.” He said intentionally.

Cheng Feng nodded, “I will.”

Cheng Xiao felt like he didn’t need to eat dinner anymore. He was already full from anger. What was happening now? Had his son also betrayed him and sided with his grandson?

Two against one, too infuriating!

When Cheng Yu came back after washing his hands, he saw his grandfather frowning while his father seemed to be talking to Lin An Lan. Lin An Lan looked relaxed, seeming to be in a good mood.

He walked over and seeing him come back, Lin An Lan motioned for him to sit down.

Cheng Yu asked him, “What were you talking about?”

Smiling, Lin An Lan whispered in his ear, “I’ll tell you later.”
