Chapter 124.1

Lin An Lan didn’t say a word, but was able to convey his emotions and state of being at that very moment.

Hiding everything in his eyes.

Zhao Peng Hai was a little surprised. He didn’t expect Lin An Lan’s acting with his eyes to be so good, and even more so, he didn’t expect that his temperament would fit the role unexpectedly well.

For the role of Li Hao, originally he didn’t really think Lin An Lan was suitable. He had just noticed his popularity and thought to himself that he should meet him first, then whether he was suitable or not, he would be able to tell better after meeting him in person.

But now, he felt that this was how Li Hao should be.

He should be someone who had superior features, who didn’t show off and who hid everything in his eyes.

Zhao Peng Hai applauded with satisfaction, “Very good, not bad.”

Standing up, Lin An Lan said to him, “Thank you.”

“Your acting is honestly more soulful than I expected it would be. I was originally quite worried because you haven’t acted in this type of movie before, but now I really think that your temperament is very fitting.”

Lin An Lan smiled, “Thank you.”

“But I’m not going to lie to you, let’s be honest, I do want to seriously use you. As long as you’re willing, this role is yours now, but I want to tell you two things first.”

“Please go ahead.”

“First, I hope that when you act in this movie, you will take my guidance seriously. Perhaps I will be rather harsh, but it is for the sake of the movie and for the overall effect, so I hope you won’t mind, let alone act perfunctorily.”

“I will.”

“The second thing,” Zhao Peng Hai hesitated for a moment but said truthfully, “is that it’s more realistic. We’re a small budget movie, so maybe your pay will be slightly lower than you have had before, but I promise you, you’re already the most expensive actor in the cast. Is that okay?”

He was a little embarrassed by these words, and so after asking, smiled a little.

After all, Lin An Lan’s popularity was on the rise right now and choosing this movie meant foregoing other opportunities. Zhao Peng Hai was a little worried that he would compare goods to goods and money to money and end up picking a movie with a high pay but a mediocre script.

After all, who didn’t want to make more money?

Lin An Lan didn’t expect him to say the second condition he had just uttered, because he had already been prepared that he wouldn’t get a high salary when he had chosen this movie.

Zhao Peng Hai was able to make a name for himself in the industry not only because he had made two movies, both with different outcomes, but also because he had made a small budget production each time but had managed to make a solid profit without losing money. The first movie, a literary movie that didn’t do so well at the box office, made just about all the money back at the box office because of its low cost while the second movie was a box office smash and achieved a solid second place in the movie charts that year.

So Lin An Lan, at first, didn’t think that Zhao Peng Hai would pay him much and of course, he didn’t care about that.

He was now rich in money and had been for a long time.

“Alright, but you need to talk to my agent. I’m sure he’ll understand.”

“Then I wish us a happy collaboration.”

“Happy collaboration.”

Lin An Lan smiled at him, said a few more words, then turned to leave the room where the audition had taken place.

“How was it?” Zhuo Siya asked him.

“It’s done, but he said the pay won’t be high. I said it was okay, but you guys will have to talk about the details.”

“Okay.” Zhuo Siya nodded, “Then you should take a good rest in the next few days. The filming of the movie will start in another half month or so, so you should read the script more in the next few days and adjust your state.”

Lin An Lan nodded, afterwards, when he reached the underground parking lot, he found out that Cheng Yu hadn’t left yet.

Surprised, he walked over, pulled the passenger door open and looked at Cheng Yu, “Didn’t I tell you to go back first and to not wait? Zhuo Siya will give me a ride back.”

Cheng Yu helped him put his seat belt on, “It’s okay, I’m not in a hurry. Besides, didn’t we agree that I would be your exclusive driver?”

Lin An Lan couldn’t help but smile.

Cheng Yu asked him, “How did it go? Did the audition go well?”

“It went very well, he kind of wanted me to act the role and I did a good job, so it was decided straight away.”

“Really, that’s worth a celebration!” Cheng Yu asked him, “What do you want to eat? I’ll take you out.”

Lin An Lan thought for a moment and then to Cheng Yu’s surprise, said, “Buy me a cake.”

“I suddenly have a craving for cake.”

“Just this?” Cheng Yu was surprised.

Lin An Lan nodded, “I want a big one.”

He rarely made requests about such things, “A chocolate one, but I also want one with fruit. I want a chocolate cake with fruit on it!”

Smiling, Cheng Yu stroked his head, “Okay, got it, I’ll order it for you now.”

“En.” Lin An Lan nodded joyfully, “Then when we go home you’ll cook for me.”

Cheng Yu kissed his face, “No problem.”

Happy, Lin An Lan leaned back in his seat, very much looking forward to his big cake.

Looking at him, Cheng Yu thought that at this moment he was acting very much like a child.

The cake arrived fairly quickly and the owner of the cake shop, in full accordance with Cheng Yu’s request, made him a chocolate fruit cake, with one layer filled with Lin An Lan’s favorite fruits. Lin An Lan was surprised as he looked at the cake, not hiding his delight.

Cutting the cake, Lin An Lan gave Cheng Yu a piece then cut a piece for himself.

“It’s delicious.” Lin An Lan took a taste.

“I’m glad you like it.” Cheng Yu smiled.

“Eat more,” Lin An Lan looked at the cake in front of him, “It’s such a big cake, we can eat it until tomorrow, right?”

“Probably.” Cheng Yu nodded with a smile then joined him in eating the cake.

In a good mood, Lin An Lan ate two pieces before he put his fork down and tried to save some space for dinner.

“Why aren’t you eating?” Cheng Yu was confused when he saw that he wasn’t moving.

“I’m saving space in my tummy for your dinner.”

Hearing him say this, Cheng Yu stood up quickly, “Then I will go and make it for you now.”

“There’s no need to hurry.” Lin An Lan pulled him back, “Take a break first before you get busy.”

Cheng Yu could only sit down again and talk to him as he ate his cake.

As Lin An Lan watched him eat the cake one bite at a time, he thought to himself, ‘he really does have a sweet tooth.’

Not just for candy, but other sweets as well.

They could do with having more cakes in the future!
