Chapter 197.2 Extra: If we met when we were young

He couldn’t quite place it but felt a strong sense of familiarity, so he pointed at Lin An Lan and showed him to his mother. “This one.”

Yu Hanshuang glanced over and saw a delicate, obedient-looking boy. He was a very beautiful child, with rosy lips and pearly white teeth—a kind of unisex beauty that some young children had before they grew up.

“He’s really cute.”

“But this child is over five years old.” The director told them. “He’s outside the age range you specified.”

She looked a bit embarrassed. “I only left this album here by chance because it was with the others, so I placed it on the table. I actually put it off to the side on purpose, hoping you wouldn’t flip through it. I didn’t expect your son to pick it up.”

Yu Hanshuang nodded, then looked down at Lin An Lan’s picture again. He was indeed a very good-looking little boy, though a bit older than she had hoped.

But Cheng Yu didn’t care about that. “Can I meet this little brother?”

“Xiao Yu, you like this little brother?” Yu Hanshuang asked him.

Cheng Yu nodded. “He’s so good-looking, so cute, just like a little doll.”

Yu Hanshuang chuckled gently. “You just like him because he’s good-looking.”

“No.” Cheng Yu scratched his head, “I feel like I’ve seen this little brother before.”

“Where have you seen him?” Yu Hanshuang asked, curious.

Cheng Yu shook his head. “I can’t remember.”

She tried to help him think it through. “Was it at your school?”

“No.”

“That’s strange then. It couldn’t have been just somewhere on the street, right?”

Cheng Yu’s brows furrowed as he thought hard for a while, however he still couldn’t remember.

“I don’t remember.” He was a little lost.

Seeing this, Yu Hanshuang decided not to press him. Children’s memories came and went—sometimes they remembered, sometimes they didn’t, so it was perfectly normal that Cheng Yu couldn’t remember.

“Maybe you saw him in a dream.” She told him.

Hearing this, Cheng Yu’s eyes lit up. “I do seem to have seen him in a dream.”

Yu Hanshuang laughed, knocking on his head lightly. “You? Seeing him in a dream? Are you looking for a little brother, or a dream lover?”

The director couldn’t help but chuckle too.

Cheng Yu huffed, looking down at Lin An Lan’s picture. “Anyway, I know I’ve seen this little brother before.”

“Yes, yes, you’re Jia Baoyu, and he’s Lin Daiyu. That’s why you feel like you’ve met this little brother before.”

Cheng Yu didn’t understand her reference to Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu and so said, his cheeks puffing up. “I’m not Jia Baoyu. I’m Cheng Yu.”

The smile in Yu Hanshuang’s eyes deepened.

Then after teasing her son enough, she finally turned back to look at Lin An Lan in the photo album again.

He really was a very cute little boy. Since Xiao Yu liked him, they might as well go and have a look. After all, Cheng Yu was the one who was most excited about this whole thing.

“Can we go see this child?” Yu Hanshuang asked.

“Of course.” The director said with a smile. “This little one actually just arrived at the orphanage not long ago—only about a week ago, I believe.”

Yu Hanshuang was surprised, because it had only been a week since Cheng Yu started wanting a little brother too.

In that sense, the two of them really did seem to share some kind of fate.

She stood up, speaking gently, “Alright, then let’s go take a look. We can talk about the rest later.”

“Okay.” The director closed the photo album hurriedly then walked with her out of the room.

Cheng Yu was bursting with excitement. As he left the reception room, he kept wondering what his little brother was doing right now.

Would he be willing to go home with them?

He probably would, he thought to himself quietly.
