When Cheng Yu finished his work and returned to the bedroom, he found Lin An Lan leaning against the bed, reading a book.

Lin An Lan nodded but still hadn’t bothered to read the book—until today, when he finally picked it up.

“Well, now that we have it, we might as well take a look. Maybe there’s something in here worth learning from.” Lin An Lan told him.

“Have you found anything yet?”

“I’m still reading. But……”

He put the book down, looking at Cheng Yu. “I think Xiao Qi and Xiao Lin get along pretty well.”

“So do I.”

“They’re a good balance—one of them’s outgoing, while the other’s more reserved; one is active, while the other is calm. They can balance each other out.”

Lin An Lan leaned against him. “I used to worry a lot, wondering if the two of them might need some time to adjust to each other, but it’s going even smoother than I expected.”

“What kind of life did you picture back then?”

“Oh, just a very ordinary one.” Lin An Lan told him. “I didn’t think much of romance back then and didn’t care much for anything else either. I thought I’d just act, work hard, and if I ended up staying single forever, so be it. It didn’t matter, since I didn’t have any real hopes for romance or marriage.”

“That’s where we’re different.” Cheng Yu replied. “I’ve always longed for love and marriage with you. I just didn’t dare dream of it back then.”

Lin An Lan moved closer to him with a smile. “If I’d known earlier that you liked me, that you were so wonderful and that we’d fit so well together, I’m sure I’d have longed for love and marriage with you, too.”

“I actually used to dream of having a family again, but I didn’t have much ability to love, so even though I wanted it, I couldn’t go out and seek it. All I could do was lower my expectations, to make myself need it a little less.”

“But luckily, I still found you.”

Lin An Lan gave him a kiss. “That’s why I’m so happy now, so fulfilled. Everything I wanted, I have.”

Cheng Yu hugged him, smiling. “Me too.”

Everything he’d ever wanted, he now had—love, family, his ideal life. It was all there.
