Chapter 210.2

Editor: Jodi

Huffing, Lin An Lan went inside, trying to shut the door behind him, but before he could, Cheng Yu took advantage of the moment and slipped in, closing the door behind him. He trapped Lin An Lan between the door and his arms.

“You dare to shut me out?”

Lin An Lan turned his head away in a huff.

Cheng Yu smirked. “Alright, I’ll give you an option. You can kiss big brother instead.”

“Dream on.”

“Then big brother will have to do it himself.”

And saying this, Cheng Yu pulled him closer, leaned in, and kissed his cheek.

Lin An Lan gave him a half-hearted glare but didn’t push him away.

“You kiss big brother now.” Cheng Yu told him, itching for more. “It’s not fair if I’m always the one kissing you. It feels like I’m the only one who likes you.”

“You’re so annoying.” Lin An Lan complained.

However after saying this, he still leaned forward slightly and kissed his cheek. “We’re not children anymore, still playing around with kisses. Aren’t you embarrassed?”

“What’s there to be embarrassed about? You’re not an outsider.”

Lin An Lan was unexpectedly pleased by his words. His lips curved into a smile, and he playfully shoved Cheng Yu. “Did you pack your things? Do you need my help?”

“Yeah.” Cheng Yu answered without hesitation. “Come check if I’m missing anything. I think I’ve packed everything, but you can double-check for me.”

“Alright.” Lin An Lan opened the door again, chatting and laughing with him as they walked to Cheng Yu’s room.

Cheng Feng, who was leaning against the railing, watched them go from squabbling to being all chummy again in the blink of an eye. He asked, “You two have made up already?”

“Why are you still here?” Cheng Yu frowned. “Are you that free today?”

Cheng Feng: …

“I’m just concerned about you two.” He said helplessly.

“There’s nothing for you to be concerned about. Worry about yourself instead. From the way Mom’s acting, she’s definitely not letting you come with us.”

Cheng Yu was really curious now. “What exactly did you do to piss Mom off so much that she still remembers it to this day? Spill it.”

Cheng Feng: …

Turning around, he walked back to his study. “I have work to do. We’ll talk another day.”

Watching him walk away, Cheng Yu leaned close to Lin An Lan and whispered, “See that? He’s feeling guilt. A grown man like him feeling guilty. He must’ve really messed up. Wait, do you think he undercut Mom’s business?”

Cheng Yu looked at Lin An Lan. “Otherwise, Mom wouldn’t be mad at him for so long.”

Lin An Lan: …

Lin An Lan thought it was probably better if he didn’t know the truth.

“Maybe.” He answered without hesitation. “But we don’t know for sure, so let’s not get involved. Adults will handle their own problems. We don’t need to stir the pot.”

Cheng Yu nodded. “Still, I hope Mom forgives him soon. He is my dad, after all.”

Lin An Lan: …

Lin An Lan lowered his head for a moment, then quietly reached out and held Cheng Yu’s hand, squeezing it gently.

**

In the end, Lin An Lan and Cheng Yu went on the trip with Yu Hanshuang, just the three of them. Cheng Feng really wanted to go but was rejected ruthlessly by Yu Hanshuang.

Yu Hanshuang’s big brother and his kids, Yu Heng and Yu Wu, also joined the trip.

Yu Wu was a few years younger than them. As soon as Lin An Lan got in the car, she eagerly waved him over to sit next to her. She had heard from her dad about Lin An Lan’s situation—that even though his name was on their household register, he was actually their aunt’s child, and that once he turned 18, his name would be removed.

Yu Wu was confused. “Then why is he on our register in the first place?”

“You’ll understand when you’re older.”

But Yu Wu wasn’t older yet, so she didn’t understand. All she knew was that even though Lin An Lan was technically part of their family now, he had to live with their aunt, which was really sad. She felt bad for him, so every time she saw him, she wanted to be extra nice to him.

Cheng Yu, on the other hand, was not happy about this. This was his person. Why was his little sister acting so eager?

He grabbed Lin An Lan’s hand and got in first, squeezing into the seat next to Yu Wu before Lin An Lan could. That way, Lin An Lan had to sit next to him instead.

Yu Wu pouted. “What are you doing? I wanted to sit with big brother An An!”

“An An wants to sit with me.” Cheng Yu said smugly. “So you can either sit with me or switch with big brother so I don’t have to sit next to you at all.”

Yu Wu huffed in frustration, while Lin An Lan shook his head helplessly, taking his seat beside Cheng Yu. “Stop bullying your sister.”

“Exactly!” Yu Wu chimed in. “Even An An thinks you’re bullying me!”

Cheng Yu squeezed Lin An Lan’s hand, giving him a dissatisfied look. “How am I bullying her? Say it, who do you want to sit with?”

Lin An Lan was speechless.

Sometimes, he really felt Cheng Yu was childish. It was only because he was willing to tolerate him that this worked. If it were anyone else, they’d just ignore him.

At times like this, Cheng Yu really didn’t feel like a big brother. Instead, Lin An Lan felt like the older one.
