Chapter 210.1

Lin An Lan blinked and asked him, “Dad, you want to go too?”
“Of course! I finally have some time, so of course, I want to go out and have fun with you and Xiao Yu.”
Lin An Lan didn’t believe for a second that he actually wanted to spend time with him and Cheng Yu. It was obvious he was going for Yu Hanshuang and just using them as an excuse. So fake.
“But Mom doesn’t seem to really want you to go.”
Cheng Yu wrapped his arm around him. “That’s why I need An An’s help.”
“How am I supposed to help?”
“You go talk to your mom.” Cheng Feng coached him. “Just tell her you really want to go out with Dad. Your mom loves you so much, she’ll definitely agree.”
Lin An Lan: …So you also know my mom loves me? Then why would I make things difficult for her?
“Why not have big brother say it instead?” Lin An Lan asked. “If big brother says it, Mom’s more likely to agree.”
“Your big brother isn’t as reliable as you.” Cheng Feng coaxed him, “In this family, Dad can see it clearly—the most reliable one is you!”
Lin An Lan: …There’s no need to butter me up like that.
“I’ll try.”
“Good!” Cheng Yu pinched his cheek happily. “An An’s the best!”
Wasn’t he, though? In this family, who could possibly be more well-behaved than him?
No one. Otherwise, Cheng Feng wouldn’t be eyeing him like a hawk, making him his personal messenger.
Lin An Lan sighed to himself and walked out.
Cheng Feng watched as he closed the door behind him politely and felt completely satisfied. Lin An Lan might not be his biological son, but in this house, he was more thoughtful and considerate than his actual son!
His actual son only knew how to side with his mom and go against him. Unlike this little one, who was like a warm little cotton jacket, so obedient and sweet.
The obedient and sweet little cotton jacket walked out the door and ran right into Cheng Yu, who was lying in wait.
“What did he say to you?” Cheng Yu asked.
“He said he wants to go on the trip too and asked me to talk to Mom so the four of us could go together.”
“He sure has some nerve.” Cheng Yu snorted. “Mom clearly doesn’t want to deal with him, and he still wants to tag along? What is he, a clingy bug?”
Lin An Lan nodded. “Exactly.”
“And you agreed to help him?”
“I just said I would with my lips.”
Cheng Yu understood immediately. “You’re just saying it to say it.”
“You can’t put it that way.” Lin An Lan said. “I’ll still tell Mom, but just so she knows.”
“Why even tell her? It’s not like she’ll agree.”
“Knowing and agreeing are two different things.” Lin An Lan smiled slyly.
Yu Hanshuang listened to his report on Cheng Feng and chuckled. “He’s got a good eye for picking helpers.”
“I’m not helping him.” Lin An Lan immediately raised his hand to swear his loyalty. “I’m just passing the message along. I also think it’s better not to bring him.”
Yu Hanshuang laughed. “Does he know this is your attitude?”
“That’s why, Mom, you have to keep it a secret for me.” Then he turned to Cheng Yu. “Big brother, you too.”
“Of course.” Cheng Yu pinched his cheek. “When have I ever not kept your secrets?”
“I’ve delivered the message, so the rest is up to you, Mom. I’m going to head out.”
“Alright.” Yu Hanshuang said with a smile.
Lin An Lan pulled Cheng Yu along, turned around, and went back to their room to watch TV.
Cheng Feng waited and waited, but no good news came. So the next night after dinner, he pulled Lin An Lan aside secretly. “An An, did you talk to your Mom for me?”
Lin An Lan nodded without the slightest bit of guilt. “I did.”
“Then why haven’t I heard anything?”
“I don’t know either.” Lin An Lan looked innocent. “Mom just said she got it and told me to go back.”
“Did you make it clear that you really wanted all four of us to go together?”
“Of course.” Lin An Lan’s expression didn’t change at all. “If you don’t believe me, you can ask big brother.”
Cheng Feng nodded. He trusted Lin An Lan. This child had always been concerned about family matters. When he was younger, he tried so hard to get him and Yu Hanshuang to reconcile, sometimes even crying while trying to convince him.
So now, he was sure that Lin An Lan wanted to see them patch things up. There was no way he’d be half-hearted about helping. The real problem must be on Yu Hanshuang’s side.
She still wasn’t willing to forgive him, still holding onto the past, so she refused to agree.
“Alright, Dad understands. Thank you for trying.” Cheng Feng ruffled his hair.
“No problem.” Lin An Lan was as sweet as ever. “Then keep working hard, Dad!”
Cheng Feng sighed and nodded.
Cheng Yu, who was at the top of the stairs saw this scene and called out, “An An.”
And hearing him, Lin An Lan said goodbye to Cheng Feng quickly and walked over to him.
Cheng Yu reached out and ruffled his hair roughly, right where Cheng Feng had just touched. “He can talk just fine, so why does he have to keep touching you?”
Lin An Lan glanced up at the arm that was still on his head. “Then doesn’t that mean—”
“What?” Cheng Yu pinched his cheek. “You think I’m the same as him? We’re not the same! Don’t even think about comparing me to him!”
“I didn’t.” Lin An Lan refused to admit it and muttered under his breath, “You’re such a hypocrite. You get to do it, but others can’t.”
Cheng Yu snorted. “Exactly. That’s how it is, so you better remember it.”
Lin An Lan: …He had never seen someone be so shamelessly double-standard about something.
Cheng Yu saw the look of helplessness on his face and poked his cheek. “Anyway, no one else is allowed to touch you except me.”
“Got it, got it.” Lin An Lan surrendered. “In the whole world, you’re the only one who loves to mess with me. Besides you, who else would?”
“You still want there to be someone else?” Cheng Yu was instantly on high alert.
“No, no, one of you is more than enough. Who else could there be?”
“Now that’s more like it.” Cheng Yu was satisfied. “Come here, give big brother a kiss.”
Lin An Lan: !!!
