Chapter 200.1

Editor: Jodi

The director turned to look at Yu Hanshuang.

Lin An Lan also followed and looked at Yu Hanshuang.

“Is that okay?” He asked softly, and after saying this, he squeezed Cheng Yu’s hand, signaling him to speak.

Cheng Yu quickly spoke up, “It’s fine, right, Mom? I want to go to school with my little brother.”

Lin An Lan: !!!

He looked at him in shock. “Mom?”

Cheng Yu nodded, “En, this is my mom.”

“But, isn’t this the school’s teacher?”

Lin An Lan’s little head worked quickly, “You’re the teacher’s child?”

Cheng Yu shook his head, “My mom’s not a teacher.”

Lin An Lan was even more surprised now, “But the teacher just said…”

“Your teacher said I’m your teacher?” Yu Hanshuang asked with a smile.

Lowering his head, Lin An Lan thought about it carefully. It did seem like she hadn’t, so, she really wasn’t their teacher?

Then who was she?

His little brain couldn’t keep up. He looked at Yu Hanshuang, then at Cheng Yu, and finally at the director, his face full of confusion.

The director smiled and said, “This aunt isn’t a teacher. She’s here to adopt a child.”

Lin An Lan finally understood and looked at her in surprise.

Then slowly coming to a realization, he looked at Cheng Yu, “You’re not one of the children here? You’re not from our place?”

Cheng Yu nodded. He had never said he was one of the children here.

Lin An Lan got angry. “You lied to me.”

Cheng Yu’s eyes widened in surprise. “I didn’t.”

“Then you…” Lin An Lan started but couldn’t finish. He suddenly remembered—Cheng Yu really hadn’t said he was one of the children here. He had just assumed he was.

“I was just playing with you and going to class with you.” Cheng Yu said innocently. “I never said I was a student here. I even said you should come to my class.”

“So your class isn’t here?”

“Of course not.”

Lin An Lan felt even more that he’d been lied to.

“I’m not going anymore.” He turned around, wanting to leave.

Cheng Yu grabbed him. “You just promised me.”

“But you also didn’t say you weren’t one of the children here just now.”

“But you agreed.” Cheng Yu looked at him. “Good kids don’t go back on their word.”

Lin An Lan: ……

He pouted.

Cheng Yu coaxed him, “You don’t want to sit with me anymore?”

Lin An Lan: ……

“You don’t want a desk mate anymore?”

He wanted one.

“Our class even has little red flowers as rewards. Don’t you want those too?”

He wanted those too.

Grinning, Cheng Yu hugged him. “I didn’t lie to you. You didn’t ask me, and I didn’t know that’s what you thought.”

Lin An Lan stayed quiet.

Cheng Yu rubbed his head. “Be good. Big brother didn’t lie to you.”

Lin An Lan looked at him, his anger fading away slowly.

Cheng Yu let go of him and pulled him along, peeking out to look at Yu Hanshuang. “Mom, can I have my little brother go to school with me? I want to sit with him.”

Yu Hanshuang watched their interaction and found it quite amusing.

She had originally thought that a child like Lin An Lan from an orphanage would be shy, sensitive, and quiet, but unexpectedly, he had quite the little temper.

Maybe it was because he had only been here for a week and hadn’t yet lost the innocence and childishness that belonged to children while waiting for too long.

She glanced at Lin An Lan a few more times then said softly, “An An, right? Turn around so Auntie can have a look.”

Cheng Yu immediately pulled Lin An Lan to turn around.
