Chapter 198.1

Editor: Jodi

Lin An Lan had just finished his afternoon nap and was now playing in the activity area with Xiao Qiao and the others.

Xiao Qiao had gone off to play jump rope with some other girls, leaving Lin An Lan sitting on the slide, sliding down bit by bit slowly.

After a few rounds, he noticed that the seesaw not too far away was finally unoccupied, so he ran over hurriedly.

However just as he sat on one end, another little boy sat down on the opposite side.

But the other boy was a bit chubbier than him, so the moment he sat down, he was sent high into the air.

Lin An Lan tried his hardest to press himself back down, however it didn’t work no matter how hard he tried.

“You come down!” The little boy told him.

Lin An Lan wanted to come down too, but he couldn’t.

“You come up.” He said in reply.

The little boy looked at him and asked, “How am I supposed to come up?”

Lin An Lan didn’t know either. He pushed down hard a few more times but still couldn’t come down.

The little boy got tired of playing and stood up, intending to leave.

And seeing this, the teacher who was supervising them walked over quickly, held the other end of the seesaw down, then let Lin An Lan down carefully.

Lin An Lan sat on his side of the seesaw, feeling a bit down. He wanted to play, but now no one was there to join him.

He was just about to stand up and leave when he suddenly noticed a little boy dressed in black walk over to the other side of the seesaw.

The boy pressed on the seesaw, so Lin An Lan stood up to let him sit properly before sitting down again.

However the moment he sat down, he was lifted high into the air once again. He was startled for a moment, but then the next moment, he felt himself descending as the boy on the other end was lifted up.

Now he was thrilled. He pushed off the ground with his feet, sending himself up again and the other boy down.

Laughing happily, he played on the seesaw with the boy, having a great time.

Yu Hanshuang and the school director watched with smiles on their faces from a distance.

When they had walked over earlier, Lin An Lan had been sitting high up on the seesaw, so visible and prominent that Cheng Yu had spotted him immediately.

“That’s that little brother.”

Cheng Yu looked at him from afar. Then his eyes shifted to the playground equipment in the activity area, and he suddenly felt like joining in on the fun.

Yu Hanshuang also wanted to observe the child’s personality, so she didn’t stop him, hence Cheng Yu ran right in.

He was about the same age as Lin An Lan, and although he was dressed in designer clothes, to a child’s eyes, it was just shorts and a T-shirt—no one could tell how expensive it was.

So Lin An Lan just assumed he was another little friend from the preschool class he hadn’t met before.

He’d only been here for a week, and his first three days had been spent waiting for his mother, so other than Xiao Qiao, he wasn’t familiar with anyone else yet.

Hence he didn’t think much about it.

After playing for a while, he told Cheng Yu, “I don’t want to play this anymore.”

Then he called over the teacher to help stabilize the seesaw, then stood up and left.

Cheng Yu, in turn, was let down by the teacher carefully. Then he walked up to Lin An Lan and asked, “Then what should we play next?”

Lin An Lan wanted to go to the swings, so he pointed at them. “That.”

Cheng Yu followed him over.

“We’ll play rock-paper-scissors. Whoever wins goes first.” Lin An Lan told him.

Cheng Yu nodded. Then they played, and Cheng Yu chose rock while Lin An Lan picked scissors. Cheng Yu grinned. “I won.”

“Then you go first.” Lin An Lan told him, sticking firmly to the rules.

Cheng Yu looked at his soft, fair face and thought that this little brother was really adorable. He reached out and gave Lin An Lan a gentle poke.

Lin An Lan looked at him, a little confused. He wasn’t angry because the poke was light and didn’t hurt, so he just asked softly, “Why did you poke me?”

Cheng Yu laughed, “Because you’re so cute.”

Hearing this, Lin An Lan felt a little shy, but his eyes curved into a smile.

“You go ahead and play first.” Cheng Yu told him, displaying the demeanor of a big brother. “I’ll push you from behind.”

“You’re not going to play first?” Lin An Lan asked him.

“Nope. You play first.” Cheng Yu replied, walking behind the swing.

Lin An Lan didn’t refuse again. He sat on the swing and began to swing back and forth gently.

At first, he swung very low. Cheng Yu watched for a moment, then gave him a push—not too hard, but enough to lift him into the air.

Lin An Lan immediately felt the breeze rushing past, and he grabbed the ropes tightly, laughing happily.

Cheng Yu asked, “Do you want to go higher?”

Lin An Lan nodded. “Just a little bit.”

So Cheng Yu pushed again with both hands.

Lin An Lan experienced the joy of flying higher into the sky.

He kept asking Cheng Yu to push him a bit higher each time until finally, Cheng Yu pushed with a bit too much force, and Lin An Lan, now a little scared, said quickly, “No more, no more!”

Cheng Yu let go, letting the swing slow down naturally. And gradually, Lin An Lan’s height dropped lower and lower.
