Two days after Yan Hao received his Level 6 Mech Builder Certificate, the final exams at the Federal University also concluded, then the four friends, who hadn’t met in a long while agreed to meet in the school’s training room.

“If I had known you’d be able to make a Level 6 mech this semester, I wouldn’t have let my dad buy me one. I would’ve waited for yours.” Cheng Wenkang’s eyes lit up as his eager hands couldn’t wait to touch the body of the mech.

“What’s its name?” Sheng Heng asked.

“It’s called Rebirth.” Yan Hao told him.

“Rebirth, does it have any significance?” Sheng Heng asked.

“I’ve always felt that giving up Pharmacy to study Mech Building is like my own rebirth, so I gave it this name. Does it sound good?” Yan Hao asked.

When the mech had just been completed, Old Pang had asked him what name he wanted to give it and without even hesitating, he chose this name.

“It does.” Sheng Heng nodded.

“Xiao Hao, didn’t you want to test the new weapon? Let me help you test it.” Cheng Wenkang had already explored the mech, but was still not satisfied, and so greedily wanted to pilot it himself.

“Who needs you?” Sheng Heng looked at him sideways. How can I let you pilot the mech my wife has built?

“Why would you not need me? This is a traditional mech. You who pilots a mimetic mech, do you think you’re a better fit than I am?” Cheng Wenkang retorted.

Sheng Heng rolled his eyes. When did mimetic mechs become something that people disdained?

“Go to the side.” Sheng Heng didn’t bother to pay any attention to him and grabbed him directly by the collar, dragging him to the side.

He Shao looked up, observed the peculiar weapon strapped to the mech’s back, then couldn’t help but ask, “Is this the weapon that cost you five points?”

“En.” Yan Hao nodded.

“The person in charge of the Federation’s Mech Association really has no vision. Even Old Pang has approved of your weapon, so why did he deduct five points?” He Shao was even more worked up about those five points than Yan Hao, having complained about it for two days straight.

“In terms of manufacturing difficulty, my weapon is indeed too simple, so Master Qin’s deduction was right.” Yan Hao told him.

“That’s because he lacks vision. Once your weapon shines on the battlefield, he’ll definitely regret it.” He Shao was still furious.

“I’ll give it a try.” Sheng Heng pulled Cheng Wenkang away, walked in front of the mech, then with a little jump, entered the cockpit smoothly.

The other three all stepped back to the corner to give the mech the space it needed to perform.

“Senior, try the basic operations first.” Yan Hao communicated with Sheng Heng through the mech’s internal communication.

Completing the sequence of moves, Sheng Heng continued by drawing the oddly-shaped weapon from his back. At a glance, the weapon looked like a spear, however it had two gun barrels on the spearhead, along with a miniature scanner.

Soon, the virtual combat mode in the training room was activated, and this mode simulated a battlefield to complement mech training, directly connecting to the mech’s internal systems. Only the mech’s pilot could see this simulation, while those outside couldn’t.

Seeing Sheng Heng drawing the weapon, Yan Hao knew he was initiating the simulated combat mode, and unable to resist, reminded him through the communicator, “Senior, remember, wait until the scanner lights up before firing. Don’t aim manually.”

“Understood.” Sheng Heng’s stern voice came through the communicator, his movements pausing briefly.

For mech warriors, instinctually aiming their weapons at targets during battle was normal, however Yan Hao’s weapon worked in the opposite way. It didn’t require manual aiming; instead, it required one to close the eyes then fire once specific conditions were met. This made Sheng Heng somewhat uncomfortable. However he quickly adapted, and after a few battles, he finally found opportunities to fire the first shot. Followed by the second, third, and his designed speed increased.

Around fifteen minutes later, he deactivated the simulated combat mode and jumped out of the cockpit.

“How did it go?” Yan Hao asked nervously, while He Shao and Cheng Wenkang watched Sheng Heng with curiosity.

“Twenty, I killed twenty Zergs just now.” Sheng Heng said excitedly.

“Twenty?!” The quickest to react was Cheng Wenkang. Compared to Yan Hao and He Shao, as a mech warrior, he understood the hardships of battle better. Killing twenty zergs in fifteen minutes, that was less than one minute per zerg. Plus, it was a level six mech against level six zergs, a nearly impossible feat on the battlefield.

“I just fired a total of twenty-one shots, only one shot missed.” Sheng Heng held Yan Hao’s shoulders excitedly. “Xiao Hao, if it has this power and accuracy on the battlefield, then this weapon of yours would be a disaster for low level zergs. Xiao Hao, I want to take him back to the War God Legion headquarters to test him again on the front lines.”

“I was originally planning to give it to you, hoping you can take it for testing on the front lines. After all, actual combat is different from simulations, and different zergs have different speeds and sizes.” Yan Hao agreed without hesitation.

Sheng Heng nodded heavily, wishing he could take Rebirth to the front lines right away.

The weapon Yan Hao had designed wasn’t of a high level, equivalent to that of a level four weapon, which meant it could be fitted on level four mechs, and if this weapon had such killing power on the battlefield, then the War God Legion might consider equipping all level four mechs with it, achieving a rapid increase in combat strength.

A level four mech killing a level six zerg, if this idea became a reality, it would go down in history as a remarkable weapon.

Because of this weapon, Sheng Heng didn’t even stay at the school for a few more days as originally planned, setting off on a spaceship the next day with the mech ‘Rebirth, heading back to the front lines.

When Sheng Heng left, Yan Hao saw him off personally at the port, also saying goodbye to He Shao and Cheng Wenkang.
