Chapter 124.1 Evaluation Rating
Editor: Jodi
After finalizing the design drafts, Yan Hao began working tirelessly. Old Pang’s task had been for him to independently complete a Level 6 mech before the end of the semester, and currently most of the mech’s construction was done, only the final close combat weapon remained to be finished.
Crafting the weapon was almost as challenging as the mech’s core, hence Yan Hao dedicated a lot of effort to it, and considering that the final exams was coming up, he practically lived in the lab. Old Pang, for Yan Hao’s sake, even stayed in his own dorm that he rarely went to, giving up his bed in the lab and finally, on the day before the final exams, Yan Hao completed the weapon.
Thus, Yan Hao’s first self-made mech was finished.
Old Pang circled the freshly completed mech, his face filled with contentment. While this mech was something he had overseen being built, seeing the finished product in person still amazed him.
His amazement wasn’t because of the mech being extraordinary, but because of his disciple’s excellence. This was Yan Hao’s first mech ever, and if it wasn’t because he knew this as a certainty and just looked at the mech, he would have thought it had been made by a highly experienced mech builder.
Whether it was the precision of over a thousand internal parts fitting together or the smoothness of energy transmission through the mech’s circuits, this mech had reached the level of perfection. If it were to be evaluated by the Federation’s Mech Association, it would undoubtedly score above 95 points. In reality, the Federation would award a Level 6 title to a Mech Builder as long as their mech scored 75 points or more.
“Xiao Hao, tomorrow I’ll have someone take this mech to the Federation’s Mech Association for evaluation, and then you’ll really be a Level 6 mech builder.” Old Pang said proudly.
Only in his sophomore year, yet already a Level 6 Mech Builder. Throughout the Federation, it was only he, Pang Tianhe’s disciple that could accomplish this.
Hahaha, really worthy of being this old man’s closed-door disciple.
“Master, I have final exams tomorrow.” Yan Hao reminded him.
“What exams? The Federal University’s graduation requirement for you students is only to build a Level 4 mech with a score of 60 points or more. You’re already a Level 6 mech builder, so you can even graduate early.” Old Pang told him.
“Huh?” Yan Hao was dumfounded. How had he ended up graduating early?
“What, you want to take the exams? You can if you want, but don’t you think you’ll be bullying your classmates?” Old Pang asked.
“Then….. then I won’t go.” Perhaps due to feeling lonely for too long in his previous life, Yan Hao really liked group life in this life. Which was why, no matter how busy he was building the mech this semester, he still attended classes seriously every time even though he already knew all the material. However he liked being with his classmates, so he didn’t want to hurt them, let alone bully them.
Old Pang didn’t know that his casual remark would cause such a big emotional response in Yan Hao. He simply felt that the exams were useless for Yan Hao now. However attending classes occasionally was also fine, after all, young people needed their own circles.
“Then it’s settled.” Old Pang confirmed.

The next day.
Yan Hao and He Shao left together, with one turning left and the other turning right after coming out. One went to the Federation’s Mech Association for evaluation, while the other went to endure the grueling final exams.
The Federation’s Mech Association was crowded, however most were there for Level 4 and 5 mech builder assessments, while the numbers for Level 6 and above was much smaller, as other than Yan Hao, there were only two middle-aged men.
“Student, have you come to the wrong floor?” One of the middle-aged men with a beard called out to Yan Hao.
“Isn’t this where they evaluate Level 6 mech builders?” As Yan Hao asked this, he stepped back to the door and checked the door sign again. That’s right, this was the place.
“You’re here to be evaluated as a Level 6 mech builder?” The middle aged man’s expression changed when he heard this. The other middle aged man who had been sitting silently also looked at Yan Hao in shock.
Seeing Yan Hao wearing the Federal University’s uniform, they had naturally assumed he was here to evaluate as a Level 4 mech builder.
“En.” Yan Hao nodded.
“Have you made an appointment?” Mech builders below Level 5 didn’t need an appointment for the Federation’s Mech Association’s evaluation. However for Level 5 and above evaluations, appointments were necessary, what’s more there were conditions for making one as well. One needed to be a level 5 or above mech builder, and their mental energy level had to have reached a certain point to be eligible for making an appointment. These conditions were to ensure that those making the appointments had the potential and ability to become Level 6 mech builders, rather than just applying randomly. This way, the Federation’s Mech Association would send a level 8 mech builder to conduct the evaluation.
Otherwise, if just anyone could come in and apply for evaluation anytime, wouldn’t the Federation’s Mech Association’s level eight mech builders be overwhelmed? Hence the bearded middle aged man’s question was a way to indirectly confirm Yan Hao’s ability.
“Yes, I’m number one.” Old Pang had booked the appointment for him yesterday, only telling him to go over in the morning.
Hearing this, the two men were shocked again. Before Yan Hao had arrived, they had already gotten to know each other, as their appointment numbers were two and three respectively, and they had even been saying just now that they couldn’t guess who appointment number one that was coming could be and had even guessed the names of the few people they knew who were on the cusp of becoming Level 6 mech builders. However they didn’t expect that the one who would come would be a student-like teenager.
However since he had managed to make an appointment successfully, then it meant he had the ability. It was just that did the Federation really have such a young Level 5 mech builder? And if it did, then why hadn’t they heard of him before?
“When did you get evaluated as a Level 5 mech builder?” The middle aged man asked.
“I haven’t been evaluated yet.” Yan Hao replied.
Haven’t been evaluated? If you haven’t been evaluated yet then how were you able to make the appointment?
Just as the middle aged man was about to continue asking, the main door opened once more, and a middle aged man in the Federation’s Mech Association’s work uniform, with a level eight mech builder emblem on his chest, entered. Behind him were two uniformed staff members.
“Master Qin.” The two middle-aged men saluted the man who was entering respectfully. He was none other than Qin Yongchang, the head of the Federation’s Mech Association on Capital Star Planet and a level eight Mech Building Master.
Seeing this, Yan Hao also hurried to the side and followed along in the respectful salute.
