Chapter 178.2 The End

The Federation.

At the Federal University, He Shao straightened his clothes at the classroom door, curbed the smile at the corners of his lips, then walked into the classroom with a serious demeanor.

“Good morning, students, I am He Shao, and I will be your head teacher for the next four years.” Then he was just about to continue introducing himself when the students below suddenly started screaming.

“Ah ah ah, Master He, are you the Chief Mech Builder from His Excellency Yan Hao’s lab? You’re actually our head teacher, oh my god.”

“Master He, will you teach us how to build mimetic mechs?”

“I heard you were roommates with His Excellency Yan Hao during uni, is it true?”

“Shut up.” His head buzzing from the noise, He Shao slapped the podium heavily, threatening, “Keep it up, and I’ll deduct all your credits.”

After fleeing into a wormhole five years ago because it was severely injured, the Zerg Emperor hadn’t appeared again. The Federation wasn’t able to ascertain whether the Zerg Emperor was dead or alive, however it decided to take advantage of its absence to take back the planets it had lost, and with the popularity of mimetic mechs and their enhanced capabilities, the zergs in space no longer posed a significant threat to the Federation. Then a year ago, the Federation finally took back all of its planets that had been occupied by the zergs, killing 99% of them and leaving only 1% of them confined to a remote small planet for scientific research.

Thus, the struggle between the Federation and the zergs came to a complete halt.

However the Federation didn’t let its guard down completely, because to prevent history from repeating itself again, it promoted the development of mimetic mechs heavily, providing Yan Hao, the first to create advanced mimetic mechs, with all the manpower and material resources he needed to conduct research to his heart’s content.

A year after Sheng Heng disappeared, Yan Hao returned to the Federation from the War God Legion and had since stayed in the lab that the Federation had built for him, never leaving. And over these five years, he had made rapid progress in mech research and had now even built a level nine mimetic mech. And of his classmates who graduated with him, many joined his lab and together, they became the legendary class of the Mech Building Department, talents who were fought over for by all powers within the Federation.

And He Shao, had returned to the Federal University this time to be a head teacher because his uncle had begged him to bring up a new class of students.

After he met the class, He Shao went to the lab building, swiped his card, then entered the tenth floor.

A small lab had now been set up just for him on the tenth floor lab, and while it wasn’t as grand as Old Pang’s, it had to be known that back then, he had just been a rookie who didn’t even have the qualifications to go up to the tenth floor.

He pushed the door open and saw a slender and frail figure hunched over, drawing something.

“I’m exhausted. Xiao Hao, what should we eat later?” He Shao called out as he entered.

Yan Hao turned his head, looked at him, then smiled: “Wasn’t today just a class meeting for you to get to know the students? How come you’re exhausted?”

“Don’t even mention it. They’re all your fans. Each one came up asking me to take them to see you. If they knew you were here, they would probably just surround the building.” He Shao told him.

Yan Hao’s brows curved as he smiled, dimples appearing as he lowered his head to continue his drawing.

He Shao walked over to look at the drawing.

A space detector?

After Sheng Heng disappeared, the Federation never gave up looking for him, however there was still no news. Everyone thought he would never return, and even General Admiral Sheng had stopped requesting that the military continue the search. Yet, Yan Hao had taught himself space detection technology, and whenever he had the time, he would draw blueprints, modifying them. However even if he found the wormhole, then what next? Five years had passed. There was no way Sheng Heng was still alive.

Two years ago, He Shao got so angry that he couldn’t help but tell Yan Hao that Sheng Heng was dead and that it was time for him to move on. He had thought at that time that Yan Hao would cry, shout, or even get angry with him. However it didn’t matter, he would be able to move on after that. However Yan Hao didn’t say a word then a few days later, he gave him a whole paper that he had written on wormholes. Then he elaborated from multiple perspectives – space, time, dimensions – on the possibility of Sheng Heng being alive.

A move that dumbfounded He Shao at that time. Then from then onwards, he never brought up anything that would even suggest remotely that Yan Hao give up on looking for Sheng Heng again. After all, if he wanted to convince him, he would have to write a paper stronger than the one Yan Hao had presented.

In terms of writing papers, He Shao admitted that he wouldn’t be able to catch up to Yan Hao’s level even if he was given eight hundred years.

“Right, I heard Marshal Yu is retiring?” Seeing that they had time, He Shao sat next to him.

“No, the mechs I build are only for senior to pilot.” Yan Hao told him.

As the founder of advanced mechs and the only Mech Builder with S level mental energy, the mechs Yan Hao built were undoubtedly the Federation’s best, and from the Federation’s Marshal to the ordinary soldier, who didn’t want to pilot a mech built by Yan Hao? However the mechs built by Master Yan Hao were always only displayed in the lab, untouchable to others, and he even stated publicly that the first person to pilot a mech made by him had to be his fiancé.

And his fiancé was Sheng Heng, a man who had disappeared for five years, someone who would never come back.

Fortunately, there had been no major wars in the Federation over these five years, what’s more Yan Hao never kept his advancements secret and would teach others whenever there was a new breakthrough, making it so that there were now many excellent level eight and nine Mech Builders in the Federation, ones who had gradually mastered how to build level eight mimetic mechs. And currently, each major legion had one to two level eight mimetic mechs. However level nine mimetic mechs was another story, as so far, only Yan Hao was able to build them.

And this undoubtedly represented the Federation’s highest military strength, however this mech was just sitting in the lab for display, causing the military’s top brass to drool from greed.

“But the Federation has a rule that the Federation’s Marshal has the right to use the Federation’s highest military weapon. Sima Ming Xuan has been coveting your mech for a long time. If he gets elected, he will definitely come looking for you.” He Shao told Yan Hao.

“If he knows what’s good for him, he won’t come to me.” Yan Hao responded without lifting his head, “Only I can create a level nine mimetic mech in the Federation, but aren’t there two candidates in the run for the Federation’s Marshal?”

“Eh? Yes, why didn’t I think of that. Even if Sima Ming Xuan gets elected, he wouldn’t dare ask you for it without having a special reason.” He Shao slapped his thigh.
