Chapter 164.2 Sheng Heng is injured
Editor: Jodi
Yan Hao and Cheng Wenkang boarded a hover car, and along the way, Cheng Wenkang explained the process of how Sheng Heng had gotten injured briefly.
It turns out that five days ago, Planet S36 was suddenly attacked by three level nine zergs, and the level nine mechs that had originally been at the base had all left to deal with the mutant zergs, hence the only ones left at the base who could fight the level nine zergs were General Admiral Sheng and Sheng Heng, and although the two of them fought together, General Admiral Sheng, in order to command the battle had been sleeping for less than two hours a day for the past half month, and coupled with the fact that his body already had old injuries, even with Sheng Heng’s support, he nearly died several times under the assault of the three level nine zergs.
Hence in the end, in order to protect General Admiral Sheng, Sheng Heng actually committed the offense of disrespecting his superior, because taking advantage of when General Admiral Sheng wasn’t paying attention, he kicked his father’s mech out of the way then wielding the Obscure Darkness Lance, detonated the mental energy stored within it.
“In the past, I only knew that the mental energy you branded on Obscure Darkness Lance could deter low level zergs off, I didn’t know that the mental energies of both you and Heng Ge could cause such massive destruction when superimposed. You don’t know, but when we were watching the live feed from below and saw Heng Ge surrounded by the three level nine zergs, we almost cried. Who would have expected that in the next second, the brains of those three level nine zergs would just explode?” Cheng Wenkang said excitedly “However at that time, Heng Ge also fainted on the spot because he had used too much mental energy. You don’t know, but at that time no matter how much we called out to Heng Ge from below, he wouldn’t respond, making us think that he was gone. I was so sad that tears even came out.”
Just listening to this made Yan Hao’s heart pound with terror. When he had been using the phantom spirit stone to upgrade the Obscure Darkness Lance, he had deliberately infused it with his mental energy, however his purpose hadn’t been to intimidate or deter low level zergs, but to give Obscure Darkness Lance another powerful attack ability, and that was mental explosion.
As was well known, if one’s mental energy was unstable, it could lead to a mental frenzy, and if this frenzy wasn’t alleviated in time, it could lead to an explosion. A mental explosion could destroy a person’s brain completely, and not just humans, but the brains of zergs as well. He had S level mental energy, and Sheng Heng also had S level mental energy, and when two mental energies that were at the same level collided, the resulting mental explosion that would come about could well be imagined. It was just that he hadn’t expected that after using this mental explosion once, Sheng Heng would faint directly.
As they were talking, the car had already arrived at the entrance of the hospital.
So Cheng Wenkang took Yan Hao to the entrance of Sheng Heng’s ward then left. It was wartime, and he had only been given special permission to go and pick Yan Hao up, hence now that this task had been completed, he naturally couldn’t delay any longer and had to return to prepare for battle. It was just that before he left, he left the hover car for Yan Hao so he could go to Maintenance room 1 by himself after he was done seeing Sheng Heng.
Yan Hao walked into the ward, then saw Sheng Heng laying there sleeping peacefully, his complexion rosy, not looking like someone who had fallen unconscious but rather like someone who was enjoying a leisurely nap, and walking over, he checked his pulse, then used his mental energy to examine his sea of consciousness as well, then quickly formed a judgment. This was a self-induced coma of the sea of consciousness due to the sudden drainage of his mental energy. As long as his mental energy was restored to a certain extent, he would be able to wake up.
There was a mental energy detector at the head of the bed, so Yan Hao calculated quietly then found that, at this rate of recovery, Sheng Heng would probably wake up by noon tomorrow.
“Master Yan Hao?”
Yan Hao turned and saw a doctor in a white coat walk in. This doctor, Yan Hao had met once before. He was the one who had treated Sheng Zhuo before.
“Hello.” Yan Hao nodded to the visitor.
“You’re here to see the Second Young Master?” The doctor smiled. “Don’t worry, he’s not in any serious danger, just in a sea of consciousness coma.”
“I know, he’ll wake up by noon tomorrow.” Yan Hao replied.
The doctor froze, then scratched his head awkwardly: “I almost forgot, you’re also a pharmacist and much more skilled than I am. It turns out he will wake up by noon tomorrow, and I just told General Admiral that he would wake up the day after tomorrow.”
Yan Hao didn’t stay in the ward for long, and after making sure that Sheng Heng was alright, he left the hospital for the base’s repair room.
On the spaceship ride over, he had heard from the teacher leading them that because of the frequent occurrence of wars, the base’s mechs were severely damaged. Many mechs were awaiting repairs, and the soldiers couldn’t even join the frontline battles.
Every time Yan Hao came to the War God Legion, the place he stayed at the most was Maintenance Room 1, and so as early as two years ago, the head of Maintenance Room 1 had granted him unrestricted access.
When Yan Hao entered the repair room, almost no one noticed him, as they were all busy. There were three to four staff members working diligently on each mech, and beside them, were mech warriors who were urging them anxiously and impatiently.
“It’s been three days, why have you guys not fixed it yet?”
“Colonel Mai Di, this is a level eight mech, and what you’ve damaged is the mech core, so of course it will be difficult to repair.”
“Can’t you just be a little bit faster?”
“If you stop rushing us, we can actually work a little faster.”
Yan Hao looked around, trying to find Di Ya, the person in charge of Maintenance Room 1. However before he could locate Di Ya, he was bumped into.
“Sorry.” The person who had bumped into Yan Hao apologized.
“It’s okay.” Yan Hao looked up, then saw a young man in combat uniform.
“You’re Master Yan Hao?” The young man clearly recognized Yan Hao.
“You know me?”
“Of course I know you. Which one of us mech warriors don’t envy Captain Sheng Heng and dream of having the chance to pilot a mimetic mech like he does?” The young man smiled, his tone thick with envy.
“Lieutenant Colonel Fang, why are you only coming just now? Hurry up and remove your password.” A mech builder walked over with an iris scanner, then scanned it over his eyes hurriedly. “Alright, just enter the password to release your control over Qing Feng.”
A hint of reluctance flashed in the young man’s eyes, however he still raised his hand to enter the password.
Yan Hao’s eyes swept over the young man’s fingers, and then he found that they were covered in red marks and trembling slightly, signs that his fingers were overly damaged from prolonged operation.
After the password was entered, the mech builder, without a moment’s pause, walked away with the iris scanner, calling out as he did so, “Notify the combat department, a level eight mech is now available.”
And then, a cyan colored mech that had just been standing in the room was put into a spatial button and then placed in a specialized box.
The young man looked at the spatial button, his eyes filled with a deep sense of loss.
“Is that your mech?” Yan Hao asked.
“En.”
“It’s being reassigned to someone else?”
“Yes, my hand is injured, and the doctor said I can’t go to battle for at least a month, and with the war situation being tense and with there being a shortage of mechs, I can’t keep mine while I’m incapacitated.” The young man explained with a forced casualness, however there was unwillingness at the bottom of his eyes.
Yan Hao’s eyes fell on the young man’s hands once again.
“That’s why I was just saying that I envy Captain Sheng Heng who is able to pilot a mimetic mech. If I had one, I wouldn’t have to…..” Then realising that he seemed to have complained a little too much, the young man said hurriedly, “Are you looking for Rebirth? Senior Colonel Di Ya has it in that room over there. Go inside and look for him. I’m leaving first.”
Yan Hao nodded, then proceeded further inside, and sure enough, he found Di Ya working in the inner room. Di Ya was busy working on a black level nine mech, and from the information Cheng Wenkang had provided earlier, this mech was most likely General Admiral Sheng’s.
“Senior Colonel Di Ya.” Yan Hao called out from the doorway.
“Yan Hao?!” Di Ya, who was working on repairing the mech turned around, then seeing him, was surprised and delighted, “You’re here, great. Hurry up and take a look at Rebirth. I was afraid of destroying the system inside, so I haven’t checked or repaired it. I’ll get you an assistant, so repair it as fast as you can.”
And saying this, he came down from the ladder, then handed Yan Hao the spatial button that had Rebirth in it. Rebirth was now the base’s talisman, and so nothing could be left to chance. Then not bothering to exchange pleasantries with him, he urged him to start working.
“Okay.” And also not saying anything, Yan Hao took the spatial button then found a spot to release Rebirth.
Then the assistant, having prepared long ago, walked over with tools and a lift ladder the moment he saw Yan Hao release the mech.
Then entering the cockpit, Yan Hao began to repair it.
