Chapter 128.1

Editor: Jodi

After dinner, Sima Mingxuan chatted patiently with Ms. Lu Si Ying for a while and then used the excuse of being tired from the journey to return to his room. However before leaving, he exchanged a glance with Yan Fei, causing Yan Fei’s heart to flutter and it wasn’t known what came to his mind as his face turned red in an instant.

“Mom, I’ll go cut some fruit.” Getting up, Yan Fei walked towards the kitchen.

“What are you going to cut? 00965.”

“Master, what are your orders?” The household robot, 00965, responded immediately.

“Go…”

“Mom, I’ll cut it myself. Mingxuan’s mental energy is unstable, so I need to check to see if there are any impurities in the fruit.” With the advancement of technology, natural and organic foods had become increasingly scarce, and while most crops were deemed safe after testing, it was essential to be cautious, especially for people with poor mental energy stability.

“Mingxuan’s mental energy has deteriorated to this extent?” Lu Si Ying looked worried.

“Yes. During the summer vacation, the interstellar battlefield where he was stationed was attacked by a level nine zerg, and its mental energy level was incredibly strong, with hardly anyone in the entire Legion able to withstand its shock waves and Mingxuan, in order to protect the Federation and prevent the sacrifice of soldiers within the Legion still went into battle even though his own mental energy was unstable. However despite having an S level mental energy, because his mental energy was already unstable at that time, the damage to his sea of consciousness was even more severe because of the battle with the level nine zerg.” Yan Fei told her, his voice gradually choking up. “Mom, do you know? When Mingxuan returned to the base, he fell into a coma. I’m his lover and his boyfriend, but at that time, I couldn’t do anything. I’m so useless.”

“Don’t blame yourself. You’re only a sophomore, so not being able to formulate a treatment for someone with S level mental energy is normal.” Seeing him sad, Lu Si Ying comforted him.

“Mom, actually, I’ve found a prescription that can cure Mingxuan. It’s just….”

“Just what?” Lu Si Ying asked.

“I need some more time to adjust the ratio proportions.”

“What’s wrong with that? You have the prescription, and with time, you will be able to adjust it if you mix them carefully.” Lu Si Ying comforted him.

“But Mingxuan is suffering so much. His mental energy deteriorates every day and even though he tries to stay calm in front of us, I know his sea of consciousness hurts. He can’t even sleep every night. Mom, my heart aches.” Yan Fei clutched his chest, his eyes red.

And Lu Si Ying, seeing her son’s eyes red from crying was extremely heartbroken. “Don’t worry, there will always be a solution. I remember you used to formulate and configure medicines quickly.”

“It’s because I had big brother’s help back then.” Yan Fei finally admitted, lowering his head so that Lu Si Ying wouldn’t see the resentment on his face.

Yes, he felt resentment. He had never thought much of Yan Hao before. Previously although Yan Hao had always had the highest test scores and was the top student in class, both his teachers and their parents loved him more. Especially when it came to the field of him being talented in pharmacy, because no matter how high Yan Hao scored in the exams, and consistently at that, his teachers had still appreciated his innovations more. Yan Hao only had some talent in calculations. It was only after going to university that everything suddenly changed and he realized that without Yan Hao, without that talent in calculations, many of his ideas couldn’t be realized. What he had once thought were insignificant suddenly became important.

His homeroom professor, Professor Sun, even told him that if a Pharmacy Genius was a needle in a haystack, then a Calculating Math Genius who could bring those genius ideas to fruition was a rare gem.

He was just a needle in a haystack while Yan Hao was a rare gem? It shouldn’t be like this. Why did it turn out this way? This was clearly not what their teachers had said in middle and high school. Back then, their teachers clearly liked him more.

“Then let Yan Hao help you with the calculations.”

Lu Si Ying’s words interrupted Yan Fei’s reminiscing. Looking up, he put on a hesitant expression, “Big brother seems to hate me a little? Will he help me?”

“I’ll talk to him.” Lu Si Ying thought of her eldest son’s nature of constantly fighting with her youngest son in every way since they were young and knew that it might not go well if Yan Fei went to him himself, so she opened her mouth and promised him.

“Thank you mom. I’ll go and cut some fruit for you.” Yan Fei smiled then run to the kitchen where he prepared two plates of fruit carefully, then gave one to his mother first and then carried the other to the guest room.

  1. Ugh… my blood pressure. These people are infuriating. I’ve always thought that some commenters/readers were exaggerating when they said such things (I usually don’t have much reaction to anything) but I seriously think that I just felt a vein popping in my head while reading these past chapters. Is it wrong to feel a very, very, very strong urge to str*ngle Yan Fei (and maybe the other scums too)?

By the way, thank you for the translation and the hard work that you’ve put in! I love the story!
