Chapter 168.2 Was it the Zerg Emperor?

Yan Hao’s broadcast also changed the battle plan that Marshal Yu and the others had just formulated, because on the day Sheng Heng reached the Sima Legion, their plan had been to kll the mutated zergs as quickly as possible, however after Sheng Heng single-handedly klled the mutated zerg in just ten minutes, the remaining two zergs suddenly seemed less threatening, then just as they were gearing up to go and k*ll the remaining two zergs, Yan Hao’s broadcast began.

Yu Xiu Yuan only watched the beginning of the live broadcast, just long enough to hear Yan Hao say that he was going to teach how to modify mimetic mechs, then immediately called Sheng Heng who was en route to the next galaxy on a warship.

“Marshal Yu, what’s wrong?” Sheng Heng asked.

“I just consulted with Old Zhong and Old Pang, the two Mech Grandmasters as well as other mech builders at the base and they all say Yan Hao’s modification tutorial is very successful, and that it’s only a matter of time before mimetic mechs become widespread.”

And at this, it wasn’t just Sheng Heng’s eyes that lit up. The eyes of the crowd in the meeting room lit up as well.

“Therefore, I’ve decided to postpone the plan to k*ll the remaining two mutated zergs. We’ll delay for a while to allow the Federation’s existing level five mechs to be modified. At least half should be upgraded first, to accumulate more strength for the Federation.” Yu Xiu Yuan said.

Because although both sides still fought and there were still casualties on both sides, the zergs never invaded any planets again, causing the Federation’s soldiers to get a chance to breathe. What’s more soldiers with hand injuries who had once been clamoring restlessly in hospitals, now went to the mech building departments instead to urge the mech builders to hurry up with the modifications of their mechs.

Time passed, and two weeks later, just when the citizens of the Federation began to feel a return to tranquility, in the distant starry space, a massive zerg, resembling a golden lighthouse in the night, opened its deep, dark eyes.

Then raising its huge front claws, it poked into the void, and every time it poked, a small wormhole would appear, and it was only after eight such pokes in a row that it stopped.

Simultaneously, within the Federation’s starfields, eight wormholes appeared, scattered across different regions. However they all shared a common feature.

Because next to each wormhole, were either mutated zergs or their corpses. Then before anyone could react, these wormholes expanded violently, wrapped around the bodies of the mutated zergs, then swallowed them whole.

At the time the wormhole appeared, Sheng Heng was in the middle of battling a mutated zerg, and almost at the moment the wormhole materialized, he felt a powerful surge of mental energy and retreated instinctively. It was this instinctive reaction that saved him from being consumed by the wormhole.

“What was that?” General Xiao asked in horror as he looked at the wormhole that was currently disappearing.

“I don’t know, but I felt a strong mental wave coming from it.” That power- this was the first time Sheng Heng had trembled because of someone else’s mental energy.
