Chapter 177.2 The Zerg Emperor dies

Editor: Jodi

Deep in the starry sky, within a twisted spatial corridor, an azure blue mech was advancing forward continuously. This corridor was very strange, as it was surrounded by darkness with occasional flashes of bright white dazzling patterns. Sheng Heng didn’t know what they were. He had traveled through wormholes in spaceships before, however he had never seen these bright white dazzling patterns in them.

However at this moment, he was too preoccupied to pay attention to these things, as all his efforts were focused on searching for the Zerg Emperor. Yes, he was searching.

He entered the wormhole a second after the Zerg Emperor, and after entering, he lost sight of the Zerg Emperor. Fortunately, this wormhole had been constructed and created by the Zerg Emperor’s mental energy, hence the spatial corridor was still filled with the Zerg Emperor’s mental energy and along the way, following this mental energy, he kept on chasing after the Zerg Emperor. There were several times where he almost caught up, however the Zerg Emperor would always manage to disappear behind those bright white patterns, causing him to miss it several times.

How long had it been?

Sheng Heng subconsciously glanced at the time. Half an hour had passed since he entered the wormhole, so why hadn’t the Zerg Emperor left yet? Although he didn’t understand the method of constructing wormholes with mental energy, creating such a space-traversing wormhole had to consume a significant amount of mental energy. Moreover, he could clearly feel that he was getting closer to the Zerg Emperor.

If so, why didn’t the Zerg Emperor leave the wormhole? Clearly leaving would be more beneficial for it. Unless…… it couldn’t leave?

Sheng Heng, feeling the Zerg Emperor’s mental energy in the spatial corridor trying to escape but being firmly caught by him, suddenly had a thought.

[Your mental energy is entangled by mine, so you can’t open the exit of the wormhole.] Because he had been entangled with the Zerg Emperor’s mental energy all along, Sheng Heng gradually understood the method of mental communication and tried saying a sentence.

And the moment his words fell, the movement of the Zerg Emperor suddenly stopped.

It heard it?! Sheng Heng was pleasantly surprised.

[You learn quickly.] The voice of the Zerg Emperor also came through mentally.

[This is all thanks to you. If it wasn’t for your enlightenment, I wouldn’t have learned.] Then he continued, [Since you can’t leave, stop trying to escape.]

The Zerg Emperor fell silent, however Sheng Heng could feel its thoughts fluctuating through mental energy. Then after a while, the Zerg Emperor’s voice came again: [Let’s make another deal.]

[You still want to make a deal with me?] Sheng Heng was surprised.

[I admit, you threaten me.]

Sheng Heng’s eyes brightened: [Then why should I still make a deal with you?]

[My mental energy is damaged, but with your current ability, you can’t kill me. We can only continue to deplete each other’s mental energy here. Have you seen those bright white patterns? Each one represents a spacetime, and only I can send you back.]

Sheng Heng paused slightly, images of Yan Hao and his family immediately coming to mind, however he quickly calmed down again. However his mental energy was connected with the Zerg Emperor’s at this moment, so how could the Zerg Emperor not feel it?

[I can promise to take my species, leave your civilization, and also send you out. How about it?] The Zerg Emperor asked.

[Do you think I’m stupid? The Federation has exerted all its effort to push you to this state. If you have a chance to breathe, would you give up on revenge?] Sheng Heng sneered.

[I can swear, that if I break my promise, I will never be able to restore the zerg civilization.]

[Your kind of civilization which relies on devouring others for revival, should have been destroyed long ago. And…] Sheng Heng sneered, [You built this space, and although I don’t know how you did it, but the longer it goes on, the more mental energy it must consume. Even if you are strong, there will come a time you become exhausted.]

[Hmph, if my mental energy isn’t able to sustain this space we will both be crushed by the force of spacetime.] The Zerg Emperor told him.

[When my comrades detonated their mental energies willingly to kill you, I was prepared to do the same.] Sheng Heng said back.

[Stupid, do you know that just one more upgrade in your mental energy level could elevate your entire civilization to becoming a level two civilization? If you die it would probably take your civilization thousands of years before they are able to become a level two civilization, and there are all sorts of species in the universe, how do you know there won’t be another alien species like the zergs? However if you become a level two civilization, you can apply to join the cosmic alliance and get protection.] The Zerg Emperor, desperate to survive, really went all out, [How about it? As long as you agree to my condition, I can teach you the method to enhance your mental energy.]

Sheng Heng was surprised by the Zerg Emperor’s words but remained distrustful.

[I can share some memories about level two civilizations with you and after receiving these memories you’ll know I’m not lying.] The Zerg Emperor, sensing his doubt and thinking he had finally persuaded him, added immediately.

[If there really is such a cosmic alliance, why don’t they protect level one civilizations?]

[Because level one civilizations haven’t earned the cosmic alliance’s recognition yet. Only by elevating their mental energy level to a new stage and learning to create wormholes will they be able to discover the cosmic alliance’s existence and qualify to become a member.] The Zerg Emperor continued, [Once you become a level two civilization, the technology of your civilization will develop rapidly. For example, the mech you’re piloting now would only be considered a low level mech in a level two civilization.]

Sheng Heng thought of Yan Hao again, knowing he would be thrilled if such a place existed.

[How about it?] The Zerg Emperor asked.

[Nothing.] Sheng Heng said in reply.

[You still don’t trust me?] The Zerg Emperor was somewhat annoyed, [I’ve said, I can share memories….]

[If I let you go and you leave here, you’ll definitely go find another level one civilization. I will never let a pest like you leave this place.] Sheng Heng told it.

[Are you mad? This is a chance for your entire civilization to advance. Once your civilization upgrades to become a level two civilization, you’ll find that those level one civilizations are nothing more than just ants.]

And because it was extremely angry, its mental energy jumped around in the corridor erratically, causing the corridor to be extremely unstable. Then countless black lines appeared inside the corridor like cracks on glass.

However soon the shaking stopped, and the cracks disappeared gradually.

[The spatial corridor almost exploded.] The Zerg Emperor said angrily.

[If this corridor explodes, you’ll die, right?] Sheng Heng could feel it from the mental connection they had.

[You’ll also die here.] The Zerg Emperor retorted.

[That’s fine.] Sheng Heng chuckled lightly, then he released the remaining mental energy from his sea of consciousness, injecting it into the surrounding corridors. And he didn’t do anything but stick to the Zerg Emperor’s mental energy, guiding it in reverse.

[What are you doing? Stop, the corridor is going to collapse.] The Zerg Emperor screamed in panic.

Sheng Heng remained unmoved, his mental energy continuing to extend.

Finally, the Zerg Emperor couldn’t contain itself any longer and a golden light flashed, then it appeared in front of Sheng Heng, its long foreclaws stabbing forward.

Sheng Heng wasn’t polite either as he activated the particle cannon on his shoulder, unleashing a fierce barrage at the Zerg Emperor.

The Zerg Emperor didn’t dodge, charging into the gunfire.

And seeing that the particle cannon was ineffective, Sheng Heng immediately drew the Obscure Darkness Lance, and the moment the Obscure Darkness Lance was drawn, the Zerg Emperor suddenly stopped, as if afraid of something.

Afraid of the Obscure Darkness Lance? Impossible, although the Obscure Darkness Lance was powerful, it wasn’t enough to frighten the Zerg Emperor, wait…
Sheng Heng, as if realizing something, suddenly thrust the Obscure Darkness Lance into the inner wall of the corridor.

[No!] The Zerg Emperor roared, charging forward crazily, however it was too late.

Having two types of mental energy in the spatial corridor was already extremely dangerous. If there was a third, it would inevitably lead to spatial chaos, and as the creator of the spatial corridor, the Zerg Emperor himself would suffer great mental backlash.

With a ‘buzz’, Sheng Heng felt as if his sea of consciousness was struck by something huge, severing his mental connection with the Zerg Emperor, and when he turned back, the Zerg Emperor’s golden pupils had already turned blood red, seemingly having entered a frenzied state. However before he could look closely, the spatial corridor began to shake, splitting, and then those black lines appeared again.

Suddenly feeling a chill, Sheng Heng stepped back, and with a swish, an invisible force swept past, cutting off the corridor connecting him and the Zerg Emperor, and on the other side of the corridor, the Zerg Emperor, unable to dodge the invisible force, was cut into two.

Sheng Heng’s eyes widened in terror. In just a moment of breathing, the Zerg Emperor on the opposite side had been cut into eight pieces, then scattered across the shattered corridor, falling into the deep darkness, into one dazzling white pattern after another, and behind him, there was also a dazzling white pattern.

Each pattern represented a space-time that once he entered, he wouldn’t be able to return to the Federation.

Struggling hard, Sheng Heng tried to do something to prevent himself from falling into the space-time exit, however his body was locked within the spatial corridor, and he couldn’t move at all.
