Chapter 172.1 The Zerg Emperor’s Goal

Editor: Jodi

The issue of going to Planet X-19 couldn’t be delayed, hence after the meeting, Sheng Heng and Sheng Zhuo, accompanied by others, went to the port.

“Is this the Tianhe One warship?” As it was a star-level weapon, the Tianhe One warship wasn’t something that could be seen easily, hence this was the first time Sheng Zhuo was seeing it.

“It’s nothing special.” Old Pang boarded the warship himself to explain to Sheng Zhuo, “The piloting system is no different from that of ordinary warships, so Major General Sheng should be able to pilot it, right?”

“I can.” Sheng Zhuo responded quickly.

“Then the only thing you need to pay attention to is the energy cannon firing. I already stocked up on enough energy blocks before coming here, so you don’t need to worry about whether there’s enough energy when firing. The only thing you need to pay attention to, is that from its ignition to launching, the turret needs one minute to charge. Once charging is complete, the energy cannon will fire from the muzzle immediately. When I originally designed it, it was with the aim of targeting stationary space wormholes, and to maximize weapon power, I didn’t consider accuracy. Which means that before you fire it, you have to aim one minute in advance.” Old Pang explained the shortcomings of the Tianhe One warship carefully.

Sheng Zhuo nodded to show that he understood.

Before they left, Yu Xiu Yuan, worried, admonished the two of them, “The purpose this time is to just scout. If you can gather intelligence, that’s best, but if not, don’t be overly rash. Safety comes first.”

“Marshal Yu, rest assured, I understand.” Sheng Heng nodded.

Sheng Zhuo also responded. His insistence on going was just to ensure Sheng Heng’s safety.

“Alright, set off.”

The Tianhe One warship flew out of the port under everyone’s watchful eyes, quickly exiting the atmosphere and disappearing into the vast starry sky. It wasn’t until the warship was out of sight that everyone returned to the command room to continue to keep in touch with the two through the internal channel.

From the naming, one could tell that Planets X-18 and X-19 were two neighboring planets, hence with the speed of the Tianhe One warship, it would take about six hours to enter Planet X-18’s star field.

Six hours passed in a blink, then Tianhe One entered the star field of Planet X-18 officially, and at first glance, the star field didn’t look as if it had just experienced a war that had destroyed the entire planet. Instead, it was as deep and tranquil as ever.

“Be cautious with every step you take from now on.” Yu Xiu Yuan warned through the video.

“No zergs detected ahead.” Sheng Heng replied.

The warship continued forward, and it wasn’t until they were only twenty minutes away from Planet X-18 that they finally encountered the zergs.

Countless zergs were hovering outside the atmosphere of Planet X-18, like a swarm of black flies guarding a piece of fat meat, and the approaching warship seemed to startle them, as countless crimson eyes suddenly turned to look at it, a sight that caused one’s scalp to tingle.

The brows of Yu Xiu Yuan and the others in the command room furrowed tightly almost simultaneously the moment they saw this scene. With so many zergs, how could they possibly go in to scout? Afraid they wouldn’t even be able to see the Zerg Emperor before they would be devoured to the bone by these zergs.

“You guys, come back.” Sighing, Yu Xiu Yuan ordered decisively.

Sheng Zhuo thought the same, however he still turned to look at Sheng Heng.

“I request to try.” Sheng Heng still insisted on going.

“Sheng Heng?!” Yu Xiu Yuan couldn’t help but scold, “Don’t just go and die for nothing.”

“Marshal Yu, I’m not going to die for nothing. The speed of my mech is faster than that of the average zerg in flight, what’s more my mental energy can suppress the majority of low level zergs. If the situation turns bad, I can retreat immediately. They won’t be able to catch up with me.” Sheng Heng analyzed calmly.

Yu Xiu Yuan was still hesitant.

“Let him go.” General Admiral Sheng, who had been silent in the channel, spoke up at this moment, “Sheng Heng isn’t reckless. If he says he can do it, then he should be able to do it.”

Seeing that even General Admiral Sheng was saying this, Yu Xiu Yuan agreed reluctantly, “Alright, but if anything goes wrong, retreat immediately.”

“Yes.” Sheng Heng responded happily, then turned to nod at his big brother before walking out hurriedly.

And right after he left, Sheng Zhuo opened the outer hatch. Then Sheng Heng, piloting his mech, leaped from the warship, his gaze fierce and unafraid as he looked at the group of menacing zergs. At the same time, he spread his mental energy out, pushed the mental energy on his mech and the Obscure Darkness Lance to the maximum level, then headed towards Planet X-18 slowly.

In the command room inside the warship, everyone watched this scene with bated breath.

As Sheng Heng’s mech drew closer and closer, the group of zergs watching him began to move. However instead of attacking him, they retreated to the sides in a neat and orderly manner.

An unexpected move which shocked everyone. The retreat of the zergs could be interpreted as them being afraid of Sheng Heng, however while they knew that Sheng Heng’s mental energy could deter low level zergs, in the past, the deterred zergs either froze in fear or fled chaotically, when had they ever retreated in such an organized and disciplined manner?

This batch of zergs were highly intelligent.

This thought surfaced in everyone’s mind almost at the same time, because over time, from the earliest period when the zergs started lurking around the periphery of the Federation, to when the mutated zergs appeared up until now, to this batch accompanying the Zerg Emperor, it seemed each group was more intelligent than the last.

And seeing this, Sheng Heng didn’t dare proceed recklessly. He was confident that he could escape from a group of less intelligent zergs, however facing a group with intelligence, he didn’t have that confidence.

However just as he was hesitating between staying or leaving, a powerful and vast force of mental energy suddenly surged from the direction of Planet X-18.

The Zerg Emperor?!
