Chapter 168.1 Was it the Zerg Emperor?

Editor: Jodi

The appearance of the mutated zergs was the biggest threat in this zerg tide, and in order to kll them, the military had already lost several level nine mechs, resulting in over half of the Federation’s advanced combat power being depleted. However Sheng Heng alone, had taken less than ten minutes to single-handedly kll a mutated zerg in the heart of the swarm.

The entire battle had been live-streamed from the mech’s built-in camera to the military’s internal network and also broadcasted to command centers at various bases, hence everyone who saw this scene stopped in shock, as if time had frozen at that moment.

Soldiers weren’t afraid of war or death. What they were afraid of, was that there would be no hope. When the mutated zergs suddenly attacked the Federation, although many died, there wasn’t any despair, because the elite forces of the Federation hadn’t gone to war yet. However when all the level nine and even level ten mechs were deployed and still weren’t able to k*ll the mutated zergs, a shadow fell over their hearts.

With the elite forces having suffered heavy losses against the mutated zergs, it wasn’t certain whether they could kll all of them, and even if they were optimistic that they could kll the remaining mutated zergs, the Federation’s elite forces would almost have been decimated by then, and by that time even if there were only ordinary level nine zergs left, how would the Federation deal with them?

What’s more there was still the Zerg Emperor behind the mutated zergs. The level ten mechs were the Federation’s reserves against the Zerg Emperor, however now that they had all been exhausted by the mutated zergs, if the Zerg Emperor appeared, how would the Federation resist? So, they had given up all hope, given up all hope for the Federation’s future, until an azure blue mech reignited that hope.

The Federation still had strength left, a force that was beyond level ten mechs, a power that surpassed that of the mutated zergs’.

“Won, we’ve won.”

It wasn’t known who shouted first, but the whole military department erupted into resounding excited cheers. It was a call for victory, a call for the future.

“Sheng Heng, strike a cool pose.” General Xiao said through the internal channel. “The entire Federation is watching you.”

Sheng Heng froze, then quickly understood. He needed to inject a dose of heart-strengthening medicine into the now demoralized soldiers.

And so controlling his mech, he flew above the mutated zerg’s body, and swinging his Obscure Darkness Lance in a beautiful flourish, slashed downwards fiercely. A streak of purple lightning shot out, piercing the zerg’s body, and in an instant, the massive body of the zerg was split into two, its head severed from its body.

And this scene, although brutal and bloody, was like a stimulant that had been injected into the veins of the Federation’s soldiers, making their bloods boil with excitement.

The War God Legion, Maintenance Room number one.

Yan Hao was being shaken to death by an excited Di Ya: “Too awesome, too powerful! Sheng Heng k*lled the mutated zerg single-handedly, ahahahaha!”

Yan Hao was also very excited. He wasn’t a mech warrior, and although he had been to the front lines a few times and had experienced certain dangers, his blood had never felt as hot as it was right now in this moment.

He looked at the mech in the video that was standing in the void holding its lance. It was the mech he had made. Senior had used the mech he had made to kll the mutated zerg. So, that mutated zerg could be considered to have been also klled by him a little right?

Yan Hao had always thought that he was a person with a gentle character, and that he didn’t like those with rough temperaments, however at this moment, as he watched Sheng Heng slice through the body of the mutated zerg in the video brutally, he almost shouted out loud: ‘Senior is so handsome.’

“Yan Hao, make another mech just like that one. If we have another, we wouldn’t even be afraid of the Zerg Emperor.” Di Ya told him, shaking his shoulder.

“It took me eleven months to make this mech, and the power of a mimetic mech has a lot to do with the mental energy of its operator as well, so it wouldn’t necessarily be as effectively powerful with someone else piloting it.”

“Phantom spirit stones are useful, but they are just too troublesome. The entire mech has to be made by a single person.” Di Ya sighed. If it weren’t for this, just by gathering all the high-level mech builders of the Federation, another mimetic mech could be produced in at most a month’s time.

“That’s why it’s imperative to promote the way to modify a level five mimetic mech first. This way, we can alleviate the soldiers’ hand injuries, and only then can we be prepared for prolonged warfare and only then will I have enough time to make another one.” Yan Hao said.

“I’ve already prepared everything for you, I’m going to call someone now.” And saying this, Di Ya turned to leave.

Half an hour later, Yan Hao started a live broadcast on the whole network.

And because of the recent victory that had been brought by Sheng Heng, the excited masses were still in a frenzy, thus they flooded Yan Hao’s live stream with pop-up messages frantically.

[Master Yan Hao, did you make the mech that Sheng Heng is piloting?]

[Master Yan Hao, what’s the name of that mech, and what’s it level?]

[Master Yan Hao, is that mech stronger than traditional level ten mechs?]

[Master Yan Hao…]

Yan Hao read through the pop-up messages hurriedly then turned on the screen’s blocking function, causing the projection screen to become clean.

Then dressed in the standard uniform of the War God Legion’s Mech Building Department, he stood in front of a half-assembled mech then announced, “This live broadcast is a live teaching broadcast specifically for level four and above mech builders. What I am going to be broadcasting today, is the modification of a level five mimetic system.”

The modification of a level five mimetic system?!

Yan Hao’s opening statement was like a b*mb that had been thrown into the hearts of countless people in the Federation.

Did this mean mimetic mechs were going to be popularized?

[Fck, fck, f*ck, I can’t believe that in this lifetime, I’ll actually be able to see the day when mimetic mechs become widespread!]

[Does this mean I can go back to the battlefield? I was discharged last year due to a hand injury. If mimetic mechs are popularized, can I rejoin the battle?]

[Upstairs, me too. I was discharged three months ago. I’m itching to get back to the battlefield to avenge my brothers.]

[If called, I will return.]

[What are you waiting for? I’m going to submit my application to the military department right now. I want to return to the battlefield.]

[Me too.]

Then because Yan Hao habitually turned off the pop-up feature every time he did a broadcast, people spontaneously left comments on his personal homepage, and in a short time, millions of comments flooded in. However what was surprising, was that they weren’t from mech builders, but from retired mech warriors who had been discharged due to injuries.
