Chapter 165.2 Proposal gift

Editor: Jodi

There were two common ailments among mech warriors: one was joint strain in the hands, and the other was damage to the sea of consciousness, and in the War God Legion’s hospital, the first and second floors were dedicated to treating hand joint issues, while the second and third floors were for sea of consciousness related treatments.

And entering the first-floor lobby, that familiar scent of the herbal packet medicine became stronger, along with the noise of a crowd, interspersed with a doctor’s roar.

“Didn’t I just tell you yesterday that you can’t use your hand anymore? Did you go and practice in secret again?”

“I soaked my hands in three herbal packets last night.”

“Your hand is already bruised and purple now. What you need is rest, not more herbal packets, they are no longer effective on you. If you don’t listen to medical advice and continue to misuse your fingers, amputation will be the next step.”

“But I can’t wait. I need to get back to the battlefield to avenge my team.”

“Everyone here wants to take revenge, but with your hands in this condition, what can you do on the battlefield? Can you even input a complete command right now?”

“If only we could pilot mimetic mechs as well.”

“Yes, if we had mimetic mechs, we could be like Captain Sheng Heng.” This sentiment resonated with everyone.

Sheng Heng’s disability wasn’t a secret; every warrior in the War God Legion knew about it, however such a handicapped person, had already become one of the top combat strengths in the Legion by virtue of a mimetic mech while they, these warriors, with their fingers intact, weren’t even able to pilot a mech because of overstrain.

At this moment, all of them were envious of Sheng Heng, envious that he was able to pilot a mimetic mech. In the past, they had simply envied him for having a high-end mech, however at this moment, they envied him for being able to go into battle to kill his enemies even though he had a hand injury.

And standing behind the crowd, Yan Hao listened silently for a while then turned and went towards the elevator.

Sheng Heng’s ward was on the top floor, and having already been there once, he didn’t need to be shown the way.

He walked along the long corridor by himself, and it was only when he reached the door that he heard a familiar voice.

“Thank you, doctor. I’ll do it myself.”

Senior was awake? Pushing the door open, he walked inside, then raising his head, he was met with Sheng Heng’s smiling face.

“Xiao Hao, you’re here.” Sheng Heng had been told about Yan Hao’s arrival at the base the moment he woke up, and so seeing him right now, there was no surprise on his face, just pure joy.

“Captain Sheng Heng is recovering well. He can be discharged after eating.” Sheng Heng had been unconscious for a long time, and so woke up feeling a little hungry; the doctor had just brought him some food and was putting it beside his bed.

“You guys chat, I’ll go and check on other patients.” Then after saying this, the doctor left.

“Xiao Hao, have you eaten?” Sheng Heng asked.

“I have.” He actually hadn’t eaten anything, however the maintenance room was busy, and he didn’t plan to stay in the hospital for a long time. He had to go back to help out after seeing Sheng Heng, so it would be the same if he ate there once he reached there.

He sat down beside the bed, his fingers resting casually on Sheng Heng’s pulse. Although the doctor had already said that Sheng Heng was fine, he still wanted to check for himself.

“How is it?” Sheng Heng asked with a smile.

“You’re recovering well, go ahead and eat. After you’re done, I’ll go back to the maintenance room.” Yan Hao told him.

“Is Rebirth damaged badly?” Sheng Heng had really passed out immediately after releasing the last mental explosion, and at that time he had gambled everything without a thought on whether he would wake up again or not, hence he was even less clear about the condition of his mech.

“No, except for the Obscure Darkness Lance, everything else has been repaired.” When the mental explosion had been unleashed, the internal structure of the Obscure Darkness Lance was destroyed completely by the burst of mental energy, causing it to now be beyond repair, hence it could only be made again. This was something Yan Hao had anticipated in advance when he had first made the weapon.

“That’s good, I’ll just switch to another weapon later.” It was impossible to remake an Obscure Darkness Lance in such a short time, however there were quite a lot of high level weapons in the War God Legion’s reserves that he could use temporarily.

“Eat first.” Yan Hao pushed the plate towards him.

“Okay.” Sheng Heng smiled, then picked the chopsticks up.

The two chatted whiles he ate.

“I noticed in the maintenance room that everyone’s mech is being shared now.” Yan Hao said.

“En, the battle has been going on for so long that many can’t sustain long-term operations with their fingers, and once it’s clear that they can’t return to the battlefield, they have to hand their mechs over for someone else to pilot.” Sheng Heng explained.

“Yours too?” Yan Hao asked him.

“Yes, I’ve already given Black Soul out.” Black Soul was also a mimetic mech, however since Rebirth performed better, Sheng Heng hadn’t piloted Black Soul again and had always kept it in a spatial button, and although it was wasteful, this was the first mech Yan Hao had modified for him, and he couldn’t bear to let others pilot it. However after the zerg tide continued past a week, he gave his mimetic mech to a comrade whose fingers were injured.

“He’s the captain of the assault team, a level seven mech warrior. His hands were injured and he couldn’t pilot his own mech, so I gave him Black Soul.” Sheng Heng explained. “But don’t worry, I’ll get it back after the zerg tide is over.”

“What do you mean by that? As if I’m the one who can’t bear to give it away.” Yan Hao said, not happy.

“It’s me who can’t bear to give it up. As long as it’s something you give me, I can’t bear to part with it.” Whenever Sheng Heng thought about it he would feel sad, as if his boyfriend had been taken away by someone else.

“Then what if there’s a better mech? Will you give Rebirth to someone else too?” Yan Hao asked him.

“Rebirth? How is that possible? Wait…..” Sheng Heng froze for a moment, then looked at him incredulously, “What do you mean?”

Lowering his head, Yan Hao took a sapphire blue spatial button from his pocket then gave it to him: “This is the level seven mimetic mech I just finished. I used the phantom spirit stone, combined with the Tempest Stone to make the mech core, then I upgraded the system once again, and although its performance hasn’t reached the level of a level eight mimetic mech, it’s already infinitely close. This was originally going to be my proposal gift to you.”

The two of them had long agreed to get married when Yan Hao graduated, and Sheng Heng had also already reported it to the top brass a long time ago. If it wasn’t because of the sudden zerg tide, he would have already been on leave at this time.

Looking at the gift, Sheng Heng didn’t take it immediately, but asked instead, “What’s its name?”

“I haven’t named it yet, you name it.” Yan Hao told him.

“Let’s call it Victory.” Sheng Heng said. “I will defeat the zergs and bring Victory back as our wedding gift.”

“Okay.” Then lifting his hand, Yan Hao placed Victory’s spatial button in His hand.
