Chapter 74.2 Redemption or sinking?

Yuan Suo eventually finished the wontons, which was no longer as sweet when it was cold, and the grease that lingered in his mouth was unpleasant.

The time on the wall clock was already pointing to ten o’clock.

It was ten o’clock in the night.

Mo Yi Cheng wasn’t back yet.

Yuan Suo washed the dishes and returned to the sofa to turn on the TV. His ears noisy but his heart sore.

For the first time, Yuan Suo felt that the time he could stay out after his upgrade was too long. He wasn’t being sent back automatically into the game, and he wasn’t able to see Mo Yi Cheng. But even if he was sent back into the game in a few hours, Mo Yi Cheng, would probably not even click into the game.

Mo Yi Cheng was angry.

And he was so stupid that he didn’t even say he was sorry at that time.

At twelve o’clock in the night, Yuan Suo was awakened by the sudden sound of gunfire from the TV, which had somehow changed from a variety show to an anti-war drama.

Turning off the TV, silence suddenly filled the room.

He sniffed, a little scared but didn’t turn the TV on again.

He didn’t know…. where Mo Yi Cheng was now.

Just at that moment, the door to the living room suddenly opened.

It was Mo Yi Cheng!

It was too late for Yuan Suo to put on his shoes, so he went over with bare feet then stopped two steps away from him, not daring to move again.

Mo Yi Cheng was covered in frost, and the chill he brought in made Yuan Suo shiver.

“Come here.” Mo Yi Cheng unbuttoned his trench coat, opening his arms.

The tip of Yuan Suo’s nose flushed and he moved a step forward before he was pulled into a broad chest with great force.

Mo Yi Cheng’s chest under the trench coat was warm.

He left himself covered in frost.

“I’m sorry.”

“I’m sorry.”

The two of them said at the same time.

Yuan Suo placed his forehead against Mo Yi Cheng’s chest, “I didn’t mean to do that, I was just… just afraid…”

“I understand.” Mo Yi Cheng’s long and slender fingers stroked his fine and soft hair, lifting his eyes although there was bitterness and more heartache inside, “In the future…. if something happens, tell me, don’t bear it alone.”

He had sat inside the car for more than ten hours, thinking about a lot of things, but the one thing he didn’t think about was resenting Yuan Suo.

“I didn’t do well today. In the future, I will never leave you alone.”

“… En.”

“Have you had dinner yet?”

“Yes. What about you?”

“Not yet.”

Hearing this, Yuan Suo took Mo Yi Cheng’s hand and went to the kitchen to heat the dishes that had been packed during the day and the two of them ate with their heads lowered as they picked dishes for each other, seeming to have forgotten about what had happened during the day.

After they were done, Mo Yi Cheng helped Yuan Suo wash the dishes.

It was already past one in the morning.

The two went to the bathroom separately to clean up and then lay on the bed, their eyes facing each other.

“Yi Cheng, I….” Yuan Suo wanted to say something when Mo Yi Cheng tapped a finger on his lips lightly.

“I’ll think of a solution, I always find a way.”

“En.” He believed Mo Yi Cheng. As long as he said it, he believed it.

“Then what you said before, does it still count?” Mo Yi Cheng’s hand inside the quilt changed position.

Yuan Suo’s body shuddered at Mo Yi Cheng’s deep, husky voice pressed against his ear; he had said many things before, which one was Mo Yi Cheng referring to?

“It’s that sentence, the one that’s not legal — but okay.”

“…..”

Mo Yi Cheng’s shadow rose as he moved, covering the warm light and when he didn’t get an answer, he pecked the top of his slightly open, full lips, “Then I’ll take that as tacit agreement.”

The person beneath him was too shy to open his eyes and despite the fact that their relationship had already progressed to the final stage, he still became nervous every time he got close.

Mo Yi Cheng slid the back of his fingers down his delicate brows, not letting go of any detail, but for a short moment he lost control and allowed the terrifying feeling of imminent loss to creep up, causing his entire body to become immobilised, as if he had fallen into an ice cellar.

Yuan Suo felt the change in Mo Yi Cheng and opened his eyes carefully, only to be struck by the sadness inside those cold pool-like eyes. He didn’t want to see such a Mo Yi Cheng, his Mo Yi Cheng shouldn’t be sad like this, so he lifted his arms and wrapped them around the person on top of him, raised his white neck and took the initiative to press his lips against his.

Hot hands, hot lips, hot breath…

In the dimness, the silhouette of the two pressed together seemed real yet unreal…

Sinking.

Or was it redemption?

If we are destined to part, then what is the purpose of holding on at this moment?

Silk, is no match for the roughness of my fingers.

The moonlight, is no match for the fine sweat on my forehead.

Twilight, was finally tinged with a bit of clarity…
