Chapter 66.1

As soon as Fang Xiyan stepped into the lobby of the office building, he noticed a number of female employees clustered near the reception, their faces lit up with excitement, chattering about something he couldn’t hear.

He glanced in their direction.

Right in the middle of the reception desk and the female employees stood a handsome young foreign man with blond hair and blue eyes, a smile on his face.

And it was quite clear that he was talking, teasing the women around him.

Because just then, the women huddled around him burst out laughing, some covering their mouths shyly while others blushed.

Fang Xiyan: “…..”

Where did this foreigner come from? And why did he look somewhat familiar….?

Finally, one of the female employees noticed Fang Xiyan standing not far away and straightening up hurriedly, the smile on her face disappeared as she nudged the others to signal them.

Before long, the female employees huddled around the reception desk clutched their files, then silently and swiftly made a hasty retreat.

Soon, only the young foreign man was left standing there.

Seeing this, the receptionist said to Fang Xiyan who was walking over, “Assistant Fang, this gentleman wants to see President Li…”

At her words, Fang Xiyan turned to look at him.

The man extended his hand, a fluent Chinese greeting leaving his lips as he smiled, “Hello, I’m Fiete Blair. I believe you should know me.”

With that, he winked confidently.

Fang Xiyan shook his hand, the expression on his face not changing, but he finally remembered who this man was.

Fiete Blair— the Vice President of the Bolton Company.

Fang Xiyan hadn’t expected him to come to C Country, let alone visit the Li Group…..

What business could he possibly have with President Li?!

Blair continued, “Since you’re President Li’s assistant, could you take me upstairs? I’d like to meet your President Li.”

Then he pointed upwards, waiting for Fang Xiyan’s response.

Fang Xiyan told him, “Mr. Blair, could you please wait here for a moment while I inform President Li?”

Blair: “Alright, no problem.”

With that, he sat on a sofa in the lobby, crossing his legs casually to wait.

Fang Xiyan gave the receptionist a look.

And understanding immediately, the receptionist stood up to pour Blair some water and bring over some snacks.

Going upstairs, Fang Xiyan knocked, then entered Li Qingzhou’s office.

Li Qingzhou was reviewing some documents with a pen in hand, and so without raising his head, he asked, “What is it?”

Fang Xiyan, “President Li, Fiete Blair, the Vice President of the Bolton Company wants to meet with you. He’s currently downstairs in the office building, you…..”

There was a ‘clang’ sound.

The pen in Li Qingzhou’s hand had rolled to the floor.

A little confused, Fang Xiyan went over to pick the pen up for Li Qingzhou.

He asked, “President Li, is it that you’re not willing to see this Mr. Blair?”

Li Qingzhou: “……”

It was over, he had lost, lost.

—Then what about the bet?

How about….. after a brief meeting, he could pretend that Blair had never visited today. Third Master probably wouldn’t find out….

No, wouldn’t that be cheating? He should be a man of integrity.

But…

The thought that he’d have to honour the bet because he had lost made Li Qingzhou’s ears turn slightly red and he struggled to control his expression.

Taking the pen, he asked, “Did Fiete Blair mention why he wanted to see me?”

Fang Xiyan: “No, Mr. Blair came alone.”

Li Qingzhou nodded, “I see. Xiyan, please invite Mr. Blair up.”

“Okay, I’ll go down now.” After saying this, Fang Xiyan turned to leave the office.

The moment he left, Li Qingzhou covered his face with his hands, lowering his head and rubbing it as he whispered, “…..what should I do?”

He was really torn.

—Could it be that he should really admit defeat and honour the bet?!

While Li Qingzhou was contemplating his options, Fang Xiyan brought Blair up and knocked on the door.

“Come in.”

Opening the door, Fang Xiyan stepped aside, saying to Blair, “Mr. Blair, please.”

Straightening his clothes, Blair nodded politely, “Thank you.”

Then he stepped into the office.

Meanwhile, Li Qingzhou maneuvered his wheelchair from behind the desk and after exchanging greetings and a handshake with Blair, gestured for him to take a seat on the sofa to talk.

Then he cut straight to the chase— asking Blair what had brought him here.

Blair: “I’ve come to C Country on behalf of our company to discuss a potential collaboration with Mr. Li on the manufacturing of auto parts and their export….”

In simple terms, Blair valued the Li Group Corporation’s auto parts manufacturing.

However he proposed a long-term collaboration at a low price, promising that they would sell the Li Group and the Bolton Company’s co-branded cars at 4S stores overseas as a part of the deal.

But after hearing his offer, Li Qingzhou refused without room for negotiation.

“The price is too low.”

“The Bolton Company wants to treat the Li Group as a warehouse for taking out auto parts at will? Mr. Blair, it seems you’re not sincere.” Li Qingzhou said indifferently with a cold expression.

At this, Blair spread his hands, laughing, “Not at all, President Li. You’ve got it wrong.”

“President Li, why not give it some thought? Although the sales of smart AI cars are leading the way now, it’s mostly domestic. Many people overseas aren’t as interested.”

“Besides, the Bolton Company has also developed smart AI cars now, and when compared to….”

He laughed without finishing his sentence, continuing instead, “The Bolton Company promises to collaborate with the Li Group to promote smart AI cars overseas. President Li, isn’t this good news for you?”

“The collaboration between two well-known companies will inevitably boost product sales.”

“President Li, why don’t you consider it carefully? Don’t reject it too quickly. I’ll be staying in C Country for a few weeks, so there’s plenty of time for you to make up your mind.”

Li Qingzhou didn’t respond.

Seeing this, Blair knew there was nothing more to say, and so stood up to say goodbye.

  1. How unpleasant. Trying to rip off our MC?
    눈_눈 just get lost.
    Thanks for the update!^^

  2. I can’t wait until Li Qingzhou has to honor his bet! I’m sure Liu Bohuai is looking forward to it more than me, though, lol.

As for Fiete Blair, with an attitude like that, I don’t know how he expects to win people’s trust and respect. Although in his case, he probably looks down on Li Qingzhou, but he’ll soon to learn to regret his attitude.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
