Chapter 95.1

Editor: Jodi

Previously, Pei Jing and the Yu family had been looking for opportunities to collaborate with the Liu Corporation, and for this reason, Pei Jing went to see Liu Xiahui many times, playing the relative card.

However perhaps it was because Liu Xiahui was too blunt, frequently using cold words and sarcasm that during the New Year period, both Pei Jing and the Yu family became much quieter.

At the very least, neither Pei Jing nor the Yu family appeared in front of Liu Bohuai and Liu Xiahui again until today at the cemetery….

Liu Xiahui wasn’t surprised to see Pei Jing in the cemetery.

He just stood still, just right behind Liu Bohuai, his face cold, not saying anything.

Pei Jing had come alone, knowing better than to bring Yu Xudong with her.

She was dressed in black, her hair tied back with a pearl headband neatly, in a simple outfit, a bouquet of flowers in her arms.

The purpose of her being here was clear.

And seeing Liu Bohuai and Liu Xiahui, she greeted them, not surprised.

Liu Xiahui responded coldly, “It’s been difficult on you, still remembering my dad’s death anniversary.”

“However it’s been so long since you visited that you’ve probably already forgotten where my dad’s tombstone is, right? Do you want me to point it out for you?”

The expression on Pei Jing’s face turned ugly when she heard this.

She said, “Xiahui, I just wanted to come and visit your dad. After all, we were once husband and wife…. do you remember? This was your dad’s favorite flower.”

And saying this, her fingers caressed the pale petals in her arms gently.

Liu Bohuai’s eyes swept over them faintly.

And Liu Xiahui, a strange expression on his face, snorted after a while, “I remember. Of course, I remember.”

“That’s not my dad’s favorite flower, it’s yours.”

Pei Jing: “How is that possible….. Xiahui, even if you hate me, there’s no need to say this, I remember this clearly.”

Besides, this wasn’t her favorite flower.

Liu Xiahui: “What do you remember? Is it that only this bunch of flowers exists in the memories of the past that’s why you’re confused? My dad didn’t like any kind of bouquet.”

On the contrary, his dad had actually once mentioned to him that this was Pei Jing’s favorite flower.

At that time, Liu Zhouhe had already divorced Pei Jing.

Liu Xiahui had still been young and had been looking for his mother everyday, and so Liu Zhouhe, in order to coax him, had carried him who was still crying in his arms and took him to the greenhouse……

He remembered this very well.

Stunned, Pei Jing couldn’t help but dredge up a distant memory — at that time it seemed that Liu Zhouhe had asked her what her favorite flower was, and she had been feeling impatient.

And by chance they happened to be in the greenhouse, so she simply pointed to a random flower, and the one she had pointed at…. seemed to have been this kind of flower.

Afterwards, Liu Zhouhe seemed to have said that from then on, it would also be his favorite….

However she hadn’t paid much attention.

And then, because she hadn’t been interested in thinking back to what it was, that memory became jumbled and blurry over time until now.

However now, as she looked at Liu Xiahui’s mocking gaze, the memory gradually became clearer.

—Thus, her hands that were holding the bouquet stiffened, the expression on her face becoming somewhat embarrassed.

Liu Bohuai didn’t even bother paying attention to her,  not even sparing her a glance as he walked towards Liu Zhouhe’s tombstone.

Liu Xiahui followed behind him.

Pei Jing hesitated for a moment, then followed behind, her skin thick.

There was no other way. If she left now it would make her look even more insincere.

Liu Bohuai always stayed for a long time whenever he came here, and Liu Xiahui would accompany him.

In front of Liu Zhouhe’s tombstone, no one spoke. Pei Jing had started by saying a few words at first, however seeing that no one was responding, gradually also stopped talking.

Liu Bohuai ignored her, and Liu Xiahui didn’t look at her, hence it didn’t even take long before she left the cemetery.

Liu Xiahui withdrew his gaze from her retreating back then asked, “Third Uncle, why do you think she came here today?”

Was it simply just to remember his dad?

Liu Bohuai said lightly, “There’s no need to bother about it.”

Liu Xiahui nodded, “I understand, third uncle.”

After that, the two of them fell silent.

Then after a long while, Liu Bohuai turned to leave for another spot in order to let Liu Xiahui have some alone time to talk to his father.

……

Coming out of the cemetery, Liu Bohuai lifted his head and looked up at the sky — it was gloomy and overcast, looking as if it might rain, not exactly pleasant weather.

Such gloomy weather always added a bit of depression to one’s heart.

Walking to his side, Liu Xiahui opened his mouth, “Third Uncle, let’s go back.”

“En, let’s go.” Liu Bohuai left the cemetery with Liu Xiahui.

It was already past noon at this time, hence they had to return to their company to attend to their respective duties.

Liu Bohuai’s car left first, while Liu Xiahui sat in his car for a while to call Xu Mengning.

“Mengning, I can’t come and pick you up tonight…… En, that’s right, I just came out of the cemetery. Okay, send me a message when you get home tonight, see you tomorrow.”

Then after hanging up, he drove off.

He knew his third uncle would most probably have another sleepless night, so he planned to take a bottle of good wine to the Liu family’s Old Mansion.

As a nephew, he was really considerate.
