Chapter 96.1

Editor: Jodi

Liu Xiahui moved step by step slowly, going up the stairs– as he stepped onto the second floor, his footsteps were nearly swallowed by the carpet, rendering the area eerily silent.

Suddenly, there seemed to be some noise up ahead.

And lifting his head, he saw that the direction of the sound was from his third uncle’s study…… sure enough, Li Qingzhou was discussing something with his third uncle.

He walked towards the study.

The door had been left ajar, creating a small gap.

The hallway was dim, lit only by a faint light.

However the study was bathed in a soft glow, spilling a sliver of light through the gap onto the carpet.

He walked towards it slowly, raising his hand to knock.

However when he looked through the gap and saw the scene inside, his whole body stiffened, struck by shock and disbelief, unable to move.

Because there, he actually saw Li Qingzhou sitting in his third uncle’s arms, his head resting on his shoulder, his hands against his third uncle’s chest….

Such an intimate posture.

It was as if their breaths were intertwined, with feelings that were too intense for anyone to ignore bursting out.

And this made Liu Xiahui’s eyes widen uncontrollably.

Especially when he saw Li Qingzhou’s hand being kissed by his third uncle meticulously.

Together with the fact that Li Qingzhou’s soft, gentle murmurs contrasted sharply with the ironic words as well as the ambiguous tone he had used on him in his office previously.

— Kiss, hug?!

Liu Xiahui’s ears seemed to have heard these words, yet it was as if he hadn’t at the same time.

His mind was in a haze, so he could only watch, his entire body stiff as his third uncle, who had always been the epitome of calm, aloofness, and elegance, seemingly untouchable and detached from worldly desires, follow Li Qingzhou’s words, kissing him continuously from his forehead down….

The charged atmosphere in the study seemed to engulf Liu Xiahui as well.

However as his third uncle moved to kiss Li Qingzhou’s neck, he immediately snapped back to his senses, and not daring to watch any longer, quickly turned to leave.

Why had he even come here today?!

He shouldn’t have come!

At this moment, Liu Xiahui wanted nothing more than to leave the Liu family’s Old Mansion as fast as possible — he couldn’t handle this stimulation.

And it wasn’t known if it was because the stimulation was too much, but his steps weren’t steady, and as he got close to the end of the staircase, he stumbled, his body lurching forward—

There was a ‘crash’ sound.

The expensive wine in the bag shattered just like that, its rich aroma permeating the air immediately.

Then Liu Xiahui hit his head on the floor.

There was no carpet in the living room on the first floor.

“Hiss.”

However he got up immediately, ignoring the wound on his forehead as well as the dizziness, because it seemed as if he had heard noises from upstairs, as if his third uncle and Li Qingzhou were about to come down.

And so disregarding the pieces of the broken wine bottle on the floor, he opened the door hurriedly and left the Liu family’s Old Mansion.

However even he couldn’t make sense of his actions.

He could have stayed. After all, it wasn’t as if it was him who had been seen in that kind of situation.

However as soon as he remembered that one of them was his third uncle… he felt that he had to leave immediately, right away.

However as he drove halfway down the road, his head started to hurt, and it was as if there was something trickling down from it.

He reached up to touch it, then looked at his hand — it was blood.

He was bleeding.

Liu Xiahui: “….”

Just one trip to the Liu family’s Old Mansion and not only had he suffered mental damage, he had even suffered physical damage as well…..

He was too miserable.

However although his head hurt over and over again, he at least had the clarity of thought and alertness to drive himself to a familiar hospital.

And coincidentally, one of his best friends, Qu Yufan, was on night shift.

And seeing Qu Yufan in the hospital, he walked up to his friend and stood still, and because the psychological stimulus hadn’t faded yet, there was no expression on his face: “Yufan, help me bandage it.”

Qu Yufan was discussing a patient’s condition with a nurse and so turned when he heard his voice.

But when he saw his friend’s face clearly, the case files he was holding in his arms fell to the ground with a ‘crash’ sound.

“….Xiahui?! What, what happened to you?” Qu Yufan’s eyes widened in surprise.

He was shocked by Liu Xiahui’s current appearance — his hair and suit were disheveled, and a streak of blood was snaking down the left side of his friend’s handsome face, already half coagulated.

This, could it be that he had been robbed?!

Qu Yufan asked the nurse to help him pick up the case files, then pulled Liu Xiahui to his office.

There was a medicine box in his office that was well-stocked with medicine suitable for dressing wounds.

“What happened to you? How did you get like this?” Qu Yufan pulled his friend to sit down, asking him as he rummaged through the medicine box.

Liu Xiahui’s lips moved, however he wasn’t able to utter a single word.

What should he say, what could he say – he definitely couldn’t say that it was because he had seen his third uncle and Li Qingzhou kissing that’s why he…..

He couldn’t say it.

So after freezing for a while, he shook his head: “Don’t worry about it.”

Qu Yufan also knew his friend’s temperament very well and so said when he heard this, “Okay, I won’t ask. It’s really rare to see you in such a mess.”

He was really too curious about what had happened to him, however it was clear that his friend didn’t want to talk.

The office was warm, hence as Qu Yufan started preparing the gauze, Liu Xiahui took his coat off, only to realise that the collar of the white shirt he was wearing underneath was also stained with a little blood.

And the bloodstain, dry and unsightly, made him frown in disgust.

Qu Yufan said at this time, “I’ll clean the wound first, then apply medicine and bandage it. It might sting a bit.”

His tone was that of a doctor treating a patient.

“En.” Liu Xiahui didn’t care much.
