Chapter 87.2

Editor: Jodi

Of course, Old Master Li also investigated the character of the Yang family’s second son beforehand.

–Despite being playful and mischievous, he had never done anything outrageous, had dated two boyfriends, and both relationships ended amicably, indicating that he was decent and self-respecting.

The Yang family conveyed the idea to their second son who also seemed inclined to meet Li Qingzhou.

In the living room of the Old Li family house, Old Master Li discussed this matter then asked Li Qingzhou what he thought about it.

Li Qingzhou thought about it for a moment.

–He wasn’t sure whether he should tell his grandfather about his relationship with Liu Bohuai at this point.

He kept on feeling that it wasn’t the right time yet. What if it scared his grandfather….

Most importantly, he wanted to find an appropriate occasion to introduce Liu Bohuai– Ah Huai should be by his side.

Although Liu Bohuai had said he would return on the first day of the lunar year, the New Year was a time for family reunions.

It had been a long time since he had seen his family, so it was the right time to spend more time with them. There was no reason to rush back immediately.

Besides, if Liu Bohuai’s mother got a bad impression of him because of this…..

Li Qingzhou had advised Liu Bohuai to stay abroad for a few more days.

As for his relationship with Liu Bohuai– he would need to find a suitable moment to discuss it formally with his grandfather.

Hence he found another excuse to refuse.

Old Master Li: “It’s just a meeting. Grandpa doesn’t expect you two to definitely end up together. This second young master of the Yang family is quite good and his attitude is sincere. I barely mentioned it, and he sent over quite a few New Year’s gifts, including one for you.”

Old Master Li pointed to the back as he said this.

In a corner of the living room, several gift boxes had been arranged neatly on a cabinet, and among them were gifts from the second young master of the Yang family.

Li Qingzhou, “Meeting him would just be a waste of time. I won’t like him.”

“The premise of liking someone is all about mutual understanding. How can you know what kind of person he is without meeting him?” Old Master Li asked in a serious voice.

Li Qingzhou: “….. I’m busy with work and don’t want to date right now.”

“Grandpa isn’t forcing you to date. Even if it doesn’t work out, you can still be friends.”

Old Master Li was adamant, persuading him strongly.

And seeing that the conversation was going round in circles, with him almost unable to break free,

Li Qingzhou finally said helplessly, “Grandpa, I really don’t want to meet the second young master of the Yang family, I……”

He wanted to tell him that he had someone he loved, just a hint, so his grandpa would stop urging him.

However Old Master Li continued, “Then don’t go on the blind date.”

“But the second young master of the Yang family sent many valuable gifts, we should return the favor.”

“He’s a junior, so how about inviting him over for dinner sometime?”

Old Master Li asked carefully.

Li Qingzhou: “Grandpa can entertain him, I won’t meet him.”

The gifts had been received by his grandfather; he hadn’t asked for them.

Li Qingzhou didn’t fall for his grandfather’s roundabout tactics.

Hearing this, Old Master Li nodded helplessly.

Li Qingzhou asked, “When does grandpa plan to entertain the second young master of the Yang family?”

So he could dodge.

Old Master Li replied thoughtfully, “The New Year period is too busy and there are relatives coming to visit. Grandpa will discuss it with the Yang family and set the date for the third day of the lunar year.”

Li Qingzhou made an ‘en’ sound in response.

He thought about it. He would wait until after the Spring Festival to tell his grandfather that he had someone he loved.

When Ah Huai returned from abroad, he would introduce him to his grandfather formally.

Hopefully Old Master Li wouldn’t be scared off by Ah Huai…..

Later when he returned to his room and checked his phone, he realized that the third day– was Valentine’s Day.

“…..”

He couldn’t help but mutter softly, “I wonder if Ah Huai celebrates Valentine’s Day…”

However to be honest, he couldn’t imagine what Third Master would be like on Valentine’s Day. Would he give him roses and chocolates?

He was kind of looking forward to it. What to do?

*

On the day of the New Year, firecracker sounds echoed early in the morning.

Last night, Li Qingzhou and Liu Bohuai chatted via video call until midnight, and he went to sleep late, hence he wanted to stay in bed a bit longer this morning.

However Li Xusheng, wearing a red padded jacket knocked on the door and entered, followed by Li Hanyu who was holding a pair of Spring Festival couplets.

Li Xusheng, carrying a small red lantern, rushed to the bedside and tugged on Li Qingzhou’s sleeve, saying, “Big brother, let’s go outside, put up the Spring Festival couplets and set off firecrackers.”

After saying that, he used his mouth to mimick the sound of firecrackers.

Li Hanyu also said, “Big brother, Happy New Year!”

Her voice was clear and full of laughter.

Li Xusheng, as if remembering something, also wished him a Happy New Year. Then he dropped the lantern, put his hands together, palms up, in front of Li Qingzhou and said shyly, “Big brother, bring the red packet.”

Li Hanyu burst into laughter. There was no need to think about it, it must have been Jun Jun who taught him this.

Then, she also ran to the bedside and stretched out her hand for a red packet.

Li Qingzhou’s lips couldn’t help but hook up in an obvious smile.

He pulled red envelopes he had prepared earlier out from under the pillow, placed one in each of their palms then said, “Hanyu, Shengsheng, Happy New Year. May you be healthy and well in the new year.”

The three of them laughed together in the room.

And listening to the sounds from the living room, Old Master Li sipped his tea in relief.

He had just spoken on the phone with Li Hongjie who was abroad.

Li Hongjie, along with his little brother were at a New Year’s party in Chinatown abroad and wouldn’t be returning home for the New Year.

However he took the initiative to offer New Year’s blessings to Old Master Li and also to Li Qingzhou and the others, what’s more he also sent gifts home.

Old Master Li praised him on his maturity and growth.

Li Hongjie had learned a lot abroad.

He had developed a passion for videography and hoped to travel to capture some uncommon scenes in the future.

The grandfather and grandson spoke for a good while before ending the call.

And not long afterwards, Li Qingzhou, wearing a red turtleneck sweater, came out from his room followed by Li Xusheng and Li Hanyu.

The three siblings were all dressed in vibrant red.

Then with Li Qingzhou putting on his coat, they prepared to go outside the old house to put up the Spring Festival couplets.

  1. Thanks for the hard work~~

I’m glad their cousin is growing and finding his passion in life. I imagine a side story that’s just slice of life of him raising his little brother, learning to love the world again, and finding beauty in it. All along raising his cute little brother based on what he’s learned. A heart warming fluffy story~
