Chapter 94.2 Extra 3
Editor: Jodi
Bai Jing’s expression was cold as he arrived at the place marked on his yellow card—an old, rundown single apartment.
4-302, third floor.
The hallway lights were dim, and the stairway railing was covered in dust. There were scattered footprints, but no one had bothered to clean them up.
Lowering his head, Bai Jing covered his nose and mouth as he climbed the stairs slowly. Then he used the key given to him at registration to unlock the door.
It was a small, twenty-square-meter room. The floor was covered in a thick layer of dust, and the furniture was old and worn—clearly, no one had lived here for a long time.
The bed was just a hard wooden plank with no bedding. He’d have to prepare that himself.
It didn’t look great, but it was still far better than sleeping in a tent by the roadside. At least it was a private space, and somewhat safer.
Bai Jing glanced around before looking toward the bathroom. He was covered in dirt and grime—he desperately wanted a hot shower.
He turned on the faucet. At first, brownish-yellow rust water trickled out, then a thin stream of clean water followed, however there wasn’t any water. He tried the showerhead, and got the same result.
Water usage was restricted in the apocalypse, however he hadn’t expected that there would be no hot water at all.
The pipes in this old residential area had long since fallen into disrepair. It wasn’t unusual for the hot water lines to be broken.
The teenager pressed his lips together. Was he really going to have to take a cold shower?
However he dismissed the thought immediately, because if he got sick, he wouldn’t even have money to buy medicine.
Maybe he could go to the market and find an electric kettle—at least then he could make do.
The moment Gu Yuanzhao walked in, he frowned deeply. How was anyone supposed to live in a place like this?
It was cramped, rundown, and filthy. And there was no kitchen, no windows, not even basic hot water.
Gu Yuanzhao: “Ah Jing, come stay with me. This place isn’t suitable.”
No matter what, a blue-card room was definitely better than this.
Bai Jing lowered his eyes. “There’s no need.”
“Thanks for your help. Don’t worry, I’ll return everything within a week.”
Then he found a rag on the bathroom shelf, rinsed it under the faucet, and got ready to clean up the room.
But Gu Yuanzhao snatched the rag from his hand and tossed it aside. Then his large hand gripped the teenager’s thin shoulders, his dark eyes carrying a hint of pleading. “Ah Jing, I don’t need you to pay me back for anything. Come with me, okay?”
Bai Jing’s right hand tightened around the dagger at his waist, his teal colored eyes staring at him coldly. “Then what do you want? You think I look good and so want to sleep with me?”
He really didn’t want to think this way, but there was nothing else he had that this man could possibly want, so this was the most likely reason.
Gu Yuanzhao was stunned. “I’ve never thought that way.”
Ever since he got here, every time he saw Bai Jing, all he felt was distress. He just wanted to give him the best of everything.
Bai Jing let out a cold laugh. And his delicate features, combined with the wound at the corner of his lips, carried a breathtaking kind of beauty. “Then why are you so good to me?”
“Don’t tell me it’s because you pity me.”
Gu Yuanzhao was silent for a moment, his pitch-black eyes fixed on him. “Ah Jing, I like you. And it was love at first sight.”
“I don’t know if you believe in love at first sight, but the moment I saw you, I was drawn to you.”
“And then, I liked you more and more, until I couldn’t stop myself.”
Bai Jing’s beautiful teal colored eyes widened suddenly. He hadn’t expected this answer at all.
What kind of joke was this? Love… at first sight?
But looking at those deep eyes and that utterly serious expression, he felt like the man wasn’t lying.
Bai Jing felt his face heat up. His heartbeat pounded loudly in his ears—thump, thump, thump—it was so noisy.
But the little bit of rationality he had left made him say, “Uh… you, how do you prove it?”
“You’ll understand in the future.”
The corners of Gu Yuanzhao’s lips curved slightly and then he handed the energy gun at his waist to Bai Jing. “If I ever try anything inappropriate with you, just shoot me.”
“You… you really don’t have to do this.”
Bai Jing stared at him, dazed, completely shaken inside.
This wasn’t just about liking someone—this was absolute trust. Had he never considered that he might actually kill him?
Gu Yuanzhao pressed the energy gun into his hand gently, his voice soft. “It’s okay. Ah Jing, take it. From now on, use it to kill zombies.”
Bai Jing’s pale fingertips brushed against the gun. He didn’t know what material it was made of, but it was very light.
The entire gun had a silver-white metallic sheen, like it was coated in a layer of silver light. Sleek and elegant, lightweight yet compact, with perfect lines—it carried that distinct coldness of high-grade metal. This was definitely no ordinary weapon.
Gu Yuanzhao held Bai Jing’s hand gently. “Ah Jing, can you come back with me now?”
Bai Jing’s teal colored eyes curved into a beautiful arc as he gripped the man’s large hand in return. “En, okay.”
