Chapter 84.1

Editor: Jodi

Bai Jing had moved all the rough stones he had brought back from the Sotho Star Planet’s Emporium into the basement during the time Master Gu Liubai had been recovering, and was now preparing to unravel all of them.

The basement was spacious, what’s more Gu Yuanzhao had had it fully equipped with a whole set of stone-cutting equipments, which made things extremely convenient.

Looking at the fifty to sixty rough stones of varying sizes placed on the marble counter, Bai Jing smiled.

All the hard work he had put into scrutinizing rough stones in both the open and secret bidding areas, and placing his bids, was finally going to pay off!

The rough stones still had their identification numbers attached to them—- Bai Jing circled around them, then decided to start with rough stone A4100, the one he was most excited to start with.

It was a piece of black ebony skin rough stone that came from an authentic old pit. Its surface was as black as lacquer, and it was covered with a layer of black wax crust.

The crust was speckled with gray-green pine blossoms, with a strip of pine blossoms in the middle, showing that it had good performance.

Black ebony skin rough stones were known for them being ‘out of ten pieces of rough stones that were bet on, nine were collapses in bet’, with a slight chance of them yielding top-quality green jadeite, although the chances were low.

Typically, these rough stones were very small, round, and chubby, ranging from the size of two fists to the size of a small child’s ball, with them rarely exceeding 7 or 8 kilograms.

However this particular rough stone was the size of a soccer ball, weighing in at 23.3 kilograms.

The surface of its crust had been polished to reveal a three-finger-wide black fog layer, which only added to the uncertainty of the rough stone more.

And shining a strong light along its black fog layer, Bai Jing could see a deep, dark green within which was unlike the bright greens of sunny or apple jadeites. This was also one of the reasons it had had fewer bids.

And it was precisely because of this that he had managed to secure it for 4.99 million starcoins, which had also helped him avoid the sellers bid blocking.

However he knew clearly, based on the active reactions he had sensed from the inside of the rough stone, that the jadeite inside it wasn’t inferior to any other superb jadeites!

He placed the black ebony rough stone on the stone cutting machine and the mechanical arms on its sides locked it firmly in place.

Then using the abrasive grinding wheel, he shaved the thin black fog layer from it carefully, and what was revealed was an exceptionally clear surface that had a high transparency— it was clearly jadeite of the glass variety!

However its color wasn’t the usual bright, rich green. Instead, it was an inky black, black that was like lacquer, with a faint glow in it.

However this didn’t mean it lacked vibrancy. Instead, it was a sign that the green color was so intense that it had deepened to black!

This was one of the finest types of jadeite: ink jadeite!

Such extreme color intensity indicated extremely compressed energy. Each kilogram of ink jadeite contained two to three times more energy than what was contained in top-grade imperial green glass jadeite!

The crust of the black ebony rough stone was relatively thick, so Bai Jing quickly sliced its thick wax and outer layers off with a laser knife, then cranked the abrasive grinding wheel up to its highest setting and cleared away the excess debris that was around its exposed window.

The color of ink jadeite was difficult to distinguish, and so could easily be mistaken for the black of the ebony skin rough stone. If it had been any other stone solver, afraid it might have taken them hours to unravel the rough stone.

However it didn’t pose a challenge for Bai Jing who had extraordinary eyesight as well as his sense perception ability.

And so in just over ten minutes, a slightly smaller-than-soccer-ball-sized jadeite was fully revealed, weighing 16.7 kilograms, with nothing but jadeite inside the crust!

The entire piece was jet-black, its color as deep as ink, its texture as clear as glass, shining brilliantly with no trace of dullness.

And what was even more unbelievable, was that under a strong light, the glossy black jadeite transformed into a soft, delicate dark green, like the flickering of a mysterious aurora borealis in the sky—extremely mesmerizing and rare.

Superb ink jadeite. Sure enough, it lived up to its name.

The value of this piece alone exceeded 400 million starcoins!

And if energy fluid were to be extracted from it, it would be able to produce at least 50 bottles of grade 7 or above energy fluids, and their worth would be unimaginable!

Storing the superb jadeite in his spatial button carefully, Bai Jing continued unraveling the other rough stones.

It wasn’t until it was around 5 PM that he stretched his sore wrists, then he saw that it was left with only half of the rough stones. He would have to continue tomorrow.

He stored the few pieces of jadeites of the glass variety away, then left the rest of the ones he had also unraveled on the marble counter.

There were yellow jadeite of the ice variety, violet jadeite of the high ice variety, bruised spring jadeite of the ice variety, red jadeite of the glutinous variety, and others—more than enough to sustain the auction house for a long time.

And when Gu Yuanzhao came back from the military department, this was what greeted him—rows of rare jadeites lined up— red jadeite, green jadeite, violet jadeite, and all kinds of dazzling colors, with superior texture and quality, leaving the Empire’s Major General stunned.

“Ah Jing, you—”

Gu Yuanzhao’s throat bobbed, so overwhelmed with emotion that he didn’t know what to say.

With these jadeites, the Gu Conglomerate’s Auction House would stand invincible, with it having no competitors!

“These are all from the rough stones I bought at the Sotho Planet’s Emporium. Oh, didn’t you also invest?”

Bai Jing calculated the value of the jadeites in his mind. “That chicken yellow jadeite of the glass variety is also for you.”

Anyway he had ink jadeite, the ‘King of Jadeites’, as well as several pieces of jadeites of the glass variety, and those, were more than enough.

Gu Yuanzhao watched in amusement as he counted the jadeites while calculating their worth, then swept him into his arms.

Then wrapping his strong arms around his slender waist, he buried his head in the nape of his neck, taking in his fresh scent, his voice hoarse. “Ah Jing, do you know the value of that top-grade yellow jadeite? And you’re giving it to me just like that?”

Feeling the warm, tingling sensation on his neck Bai Jing hummed softly as he replied, “Consider it a gift from me. I’m happy as long as you like it.”

Lifting his head, Gu Yuanzhao looked at the teenager’s beautiful teal colored eyes, as well as his eyelashes that were fluttering like the wings of a butterfly, then kissed him all of a sudden.

And as his hot kiss came down, they captured the teenager’s beautifully shaped lips, holding onto them deeply.
