Chapter 90.3

Editor: Jodi

After a week, all the rough stones had been graded, with each one evaluated by at least three Stone Gamblers.

This time, there were nearly 15,000 stones. Bai Jing still had about one-fifth left to check, however since other Stone Gamblers were present, it wasn’t absolutely necessary for him to inspect them all.

After the data was input, the intelligent analysis system quickly identified over a hundred pieces of raw stones with significant disparities or uncertainties.

Actually, every stone gambler had slightly different evaluations for raw stones.

For instance, the same raw stone might be rated as Grade C with a price tag of 50,000 starcoins by one Stone Gambler, while another might rate it as Grade B with a 60,000-starcoin tag—close, but not identical.

In such cases, the system would calculate the price based on probabilities and the rough stone distribution, which didn’t pose any significant risk to the Gu Conglomerate and so wasn’t worth further discussion.

However some cases were different.

If a 50,000-starcoin raw stone were to yield high-green jadeite of the glass variety, the potential loss could be in the millions or even tens of millions of starcoins, hence the Gu Conglomerate obviously tried to avoid such risks.

The hundred-plus raw stones identified were those most likely to result in such scenarios.

The five individuals began examining these raw stones meticulously, paying extreme attention to every detail.

Then they launched into a heated discussion.

During the discussions, Bai Jing picked up a lot of niche knowledge—practical insights from experienced senior stone gamblers that were invaluable for evaluating raw stones.

The group reached consensus on the first twenty-some rough stones, however there was a significant disagreement over the 31st rough stone.

“? Someone actually rated this as top-tier Grade S?”

“I’ve seen this rough stone. It’s just ordinary yellow sand skin. It should be rated as Grade C.”

“I also rated it as Grade C. Who rated it S? Did someone make a mistake?”

That was their only thought.

Everyone present was an experienced Senior Stone Gambler, not a novice, so making such a basic error seemed unlikely—it must have been a mislabeling caused by nerves.

It had to be known, that S-grade raw stones almost always sold for over 10 million starcoins!

Just then, Bai Jing spoke up: “There’s no mistake. I chose it.”

!!

The level 6 Stone Gamblers all turned to look at him in shock.

However because they trusted him, they used magnifying glasses to check the rough stone several times. They practically glued their eyes to it but still couldn’t see anything special about it.

Grand Master Gu Liubai also flipped the rough stone over and over to examine it. Then he seemed to notice something, but still shook his head, “Xiao Jing, this rough stone is indeed from an old mine, with a very distinct desanding feel on the surface.”

“This isn’t just ordinary yellow sand skin. It’s most likely yellow salt sand skin from Planet Karrl, which has the potential to yield multiple colors. But honestly speaking, the chances are slim. So putting it in the S Zone isn’t appropriate—at best, it should be in the B Zone.”

Bai Jing gave Master Gu Liubai a look of admiration. This man’s assessment was surprisingly close to what he had sensed with his perception ability!

He had noticed this rough stone because of its mental power fluctuations.

Now that his mental power had surpassed ordinary limits, rough stones with strong activity, like jadeites of the high ice or glass variety, would naturally draw his attention as soon as he approached them. Hence he’d never miss a high-quality jadeite.

It was even more useful than a radar.

This rough stone was about the size of a basketball, with thick yellow salt sand skin. Its desanding feel was strong—a typical piece from an old mine and a top-grade yellow sand skin.

The vein was fractured in the middle, and its pine flower wasn’t vibrant, making it unlikely to yield high green.

So as they said, putting this rough stone in the C or B Zone would be the most appropriate. However—

Bai Jing: “I have a feeling that this rough stone can yield top grade jadeite.”

Everyone fell silent, lost in thought.

This kind of intuition was always mysterious, like luck—impossible to explain or predict.

Gu Yuanzhao trusted Bai Jing unconditionally, and so said directly, “If that’s the case, then let’s unravel it.”

“Alright.”

With the heir of the Gu family speaking, no one dared to object.

Grand Master Gu Liubai was deeply intrigued by this rough stone.

Because after hearing the young man’s judgment, he had a faint premonition—maybe it really would be as Bai Jing said, and a miracle would happen.

So, he decided to unravel the rough stone himself.

He studied the patterns of its pine flowers and the vein on its surface, then used a laser blade to make a precise cut at the last quarter of the stone.

The cut was exceptionally precise. As one side of the sliced-off section revealed plain white stone, while the other exposed a two-finger-wide streak of green.

He sprinkled water on it, and the glass-like, translucent surface glowed with a delicate green color, as tender as newly sprouted seedlings, with a hint of yellow—soft and enchanting.

The eyes of the Stone Gamblers couldn’t help but widen the moment they saw the cut.

“It’s actually jadeite of the glass variety!!”

“Although the seedling green isn’t as vivid as that of sunny green jadeite or emerald, it’s still pretty good!”

“Who would’ve thought? God Yun really is amazing.”

The group all gave Bai Jing a thumbs-up.

Intuition was also a form of strength. If they had such sharp instincts, they’d be ecstatic!

Even Grand Master Gu Liubai’s refined face was filled with smiles.

He’d spent over two years in the medical bay, so this was his first rough stone unraveling session since returning. Who would’ve thought he’d uncover the highest grade jadeite of the glass variety on his first try? What a great sign!

The laser blade was swapped for an abrasive wheel. And as the wheel spun and the sound echoed, bits of stone chipped away, and the thick outer shell was gradually sanded down. Soon, half the stone was revealed, exposing five to six kilograms of jadeite of the glass variety worth no less than twenty million!

“It’s a massive gain!”

“This rough stone really should’ve been in the S Zone.”

“Luckily, it was unraveled here. Otherwise, we’d have lost big.”

As the abrasive wheel kept turning, Grand Master Gu Liubai suddenly let out a surprised “huh?” The faint green that had been visible was gone, replaced by a translucent honey-yellow color.

“Yellow jadeite…” He murmured, stopping the abrasive wheel in his hand.

It was well-known that yellow jadeite formed under extremely unique conditions, hence its texture and translucency (its ‘water’) were usually not great. Even yellow jadeite of the ice variety was extremely rare.

But what he was holding now was yellow jadeite of the glass variety, combined with the earlier seedling green—

This was a yellow-green dual-colored jadeite of the glass variety!

Jadeite of the glass variety was rare to begin with, hence dual-colored ones were even rarer. However not only was this a dual-color piece, one of its colors was the exceedingly rare yellow jadeite!

This time, the Stone Gamblers were really stunned.

God Yun really was God Yun. This was yet another top-tier jadeite!

Even for the well-traveled Grand Master Gu Liubai, this was his first time seeing a yellow-green dual-colored jadeite of the glass variety. He took a few deep breaths to calm his excitement before continuing to work on the stone.

About fifteen minutes later, the entire piece of top-tier dual-colored jadeite of the glass variety, weighing 9.6 kilograms, was revealed fully.

The soft seedling green and the gorgeous honey-yellow were distinctly separated, glowing and translucent, with shimmering ripples that looked like they were swaying in crystal-clear ice water. It was breathtakingly beautiful.

The value of this jadeite was way more than ten million! Ten times that wouldn’t even be an exaggeration!
