Chapter 79 End of the filming of Dark War

Editor: Jodi

Talking about publishing was just a plan, a plan that involved many things that couldn’t all be done right now.

However with a plan, there was a direction to follow.

And Lin Qin, at the mere thought of co-authoring a book with Meng Chao couldn’t help but bubble with excitement, glancing left and right at his notebook, imagining the kind of annotations Meng Chao would make.

And Meng Chao, seeing him like this, couldn’t help but rub his hair, saying, “There’s no rush, let’s finish filming ‘Dark War’ first.”

Lin Qin, of course, understood the priorities, “I know.'”

Stretching his hand, Meng Chao took the notebook out of Lin Qin’s hands, “Give it to me first, I’ll take some time to look at it in the next few days and think about the annotations to add.”

…..

As night fell, Lin Qin slept sweetly in Meng Chao’s arms and Meng Chao, kissing his forehead, got up quietly and took his laptop to the living room.

In the darkness, the glow of the laptop illuminated Meng Chao’s handsome face as he sat on the sofa, his long fingers tapping on the keyboard.

The character biography had been written by hand, and so to publish them, they needed to be converted into digital format.

This could have been done by someone else or simply scanned, however Meng Chao wanted to type each word of Lin Qin’s handwritten character biography into digital form himself.

And as he did so, he added his own thoughts as annotations.

Thus, in the month of the refilming of ‘Dark War’, Meng Chao used his spare and nighttime hours to finally complete the digital input of the character biography for ‘Double Passion’, including his annotations.

Then Lin Qin and Meng Chao, following the director’s advice, decided to integrate the character biography of ‘Dark War’ as well.

The day after Meng Chao secretly finished typing the character biography of ‘Double Passion’, he started on the character biography of the characters of ‘Dark War’.”

“Qin Qin, can you give me the character biography of ‘Dark War’?” Meng Chao’s gaze fell on the table nearby where two notebooks lay. If he remembered correctly, one was Lin Qin’s diary and the other was his character biography of the characters of ‘Dark War’ protagonist.

Lin Qin’s notebooks, probably having been bought in bulk, looked indistinguishable from one another.

Lin Qin nodded without hesitation and, walking over to the table, took one the notebooks casually and handed it to Meng Chao.

And not even thinking twice about it, Meng Chao took the notebook.

And in the night, seeing that Lin Qin was asleep, got up again and went to the living room to type the character biography into his laptop.

He opened what should have been the character biography of ‘Dark War’, however as he read its contents, a soft expression spread across his face, and his slender fingers caressing the cover of the notebook gently, he couldn’t help but laugh.

This little fool, he had given him his diary thinking it was the character biography.

Meng Chao knew he should return the notebook, however it was as if it had a magical allure, tempting him to turn each page.

And the more he read, the brighter the smile on his face became, the look in his eyes so tender that it was as if water could be squeezed out of it, his heart feeling as if a cat’s paw was scratching at it, as it swelled and burst with happiness, nearly drowning him.

–I saw Meng Chao on the red carpet today. He was walking towards me from afar, and I so very much wanted to go up and talk to him, to say: ‘Hello, I am Lin Qin’.

–An incredibly shy day, I actually get to record a romance reality show with Meng Chao!!!

This time I have to stand in front of him bravely and say: ‘I am Lin Qin.’

–Meeting you, getting close to you, is the bravest and luckiest thing I’ve ever done in my life.

Meng Chao, good night.

–Meng Chao Ge, I will work hard.

–En, I like you too… I also want to be with you. Meng Chao Ge, I’m really so happy, so very happy!

–Meng Chao Ge, I know you’ll always be there, so I’m not scared anymore. Meng Chao Ge, am I brave now?

…..

The thick diary was full of recordings of Lin Qin’s emotions, daily life and his full thoughts about Meng Chao.

Meng Chao’s fingers brushed over each word, and as if they were enchanted, they burned hot, searing straight from the tips of his fingers into his heart.

He sat in the living room for a long time before getting up and going back to the bedroom.

Lin Qin was sound asleep, curled up into a small mound on the bed. And walking over, Meng Chao lifted the blanket, lay down, then pulled him into his arms in a natural manner.

And feeling the familiar warmth, Lin Qin burrowed into his arms, his eyes opening in a daze, “Meng Chao Ge?”

Meng Chao had just gotten into bed, and so his clothes still carried a chill. Lin Qin reached out to hug him, rubbing against him gently, trying to warm him with the heat of his own body.

And Meng Chao was indeed warm up by Lin Qin’s rubbing, in more ways than one. However looking at his eyes that could barely open, he restrained his rising emotions and kissed his forehead gently, saying softly, “Sleep, let me hold you to sleep.”

Lin Qin let out an ‘en’ sound, then went back to dreamland.

Meng Chao hugged him tightly, his body filled with the intense emotions that had overwhelmed him the moment he had opened the diary, and it was only by holding Lin Qin that he was able to find a small outlet for these emotions.

He thought to himself, he really loved Lin Qin to death.

The next day, sunlight spilled over a cloudless sky, marking a rare beautiful day.

The crew of ‘Dark War’ crew finally wrapped up filming that day. It was now the twelfth lunar month, with the Spring Festival just a few weeks away.

Because of the tight schedule, the director didn’t plan a wrap party, deciding to combine it with the celebration party later.

Hence in the afternoon, Meng Chao and Lin Qin boarded a plane back to the imperial capital.

Then Lin Qin suddenly remembered that he had forgotten to write in his diary the day before.

He looked around, and seeing that Meng Chao was engrossed with something on his laptop, which meant he wouldn’t be paying attention to him for a while, took his diary out, intending to record his feelings from yesterday.

On the first page of Lin Qin’s diary was a sentence:

–To all the bitter and sweet days, I will break through the clouds to welcome the sunshine meant for me.”

This line, adapted from one of Meng Chao’s award ceremony speeches, had pulled Lin Qin from despair, however now, Lin Qin found a reply written beneath this sentence on the page:

–Have you found your sunshine now? If you haven’t, then I’m willing to be your unique sunshine, illuminating your world.

The handwriting was strong and powerful, one he was familiar with.

He stared at the line for a long time, then his face gradually turned a shade of peach.

He turned his head to look at Meng Chao, complaining in embarrassment, “You read my diary secretly.”

Meng Chao looked up from his laptop, responding innocently, “But you gave it to me yourself.”

It was then Lin Qin suddenly remembered that he had indeed given him the wrong notebook, “But you still shouldn’t have peeked at it!”

Meng Chao suddenly asked, “Are you willing”

Lin Qin: “Huh?”

Meng Chao: “Are you willing to let me be your sunshine, to illuminate your world?”

Lin Qin was stunned for a moment, then met Meng Chao’s eyes, his eyes shimmering like stars, “I’m willing.”

Actually, you’ve already been my sunshine for a long time now.
