Chapter 52

Editor: Jodi

It wasn’t that no one tried to ask Fang Ming Hui to persuade Yi Ran, but that Fang Ming Hui intentionally said in an indulgent tone, “Instead of convincing Yi Ran to give up, why not try to persuade Lin Qin to give up the room? Isn’t Lin Qin more easy to talk to?”

What could the staff say? They couldn’t really go and ask Lin Qin to give up his room right? What exactly had Little Rabbit Lin done wrong? Getting entangled by Yi Ran like this. He fell intentionally earlier, blamed it on Little Rabbit Lin, and when the truth was exposed, he wasn’t even given a single apology. Then in the evening, he was going even further, asking the host to give up the master bedroom for the guest. How could a guest demand such a thing?

The staff members were so speechless they wanted to curse.

Finally, the director intervened directly, trying to reason with him, however he wouldn’t budge, acting like a three year old who wanted whatever he was demanding. No, even three year olds were more polite.

Although Fang Ming Hui didn’t try to persuade Yi Ran, he still watched the commotion from the sidelines. He was waiting for Lin Qin to come out; he wanted to see how he would handle this situation.

Sure enough, after about fifteen minutes, the door to Lin Qin’s room opened.

However the person Fang Ming Hui saw wasn’t Lin Qin, but Meng Chao.

It was so late, what was he doing in Lin Qin’s room! Then he couldn’t help but recall the ambiguous behavior between Meng Chao and Lin Qin earlier. At that time he had already formed certain suspicions, and now those suspicions were only being confirmed further.

He narrowed his eyes. And here he had been wondering how Lin Qin had managed to secure such a good movie project like ‘Double Love’. It turns out he had already associated himself with Meng Chao.

Although Meng Chao’s background in the entertainment industry still remained mysterious, people at Fang Ming Hui’s level had some understanding, hence if it was related to the Meng family, Lin Qin landing a role in ‘Double Love’ and then winning the Cannes Film Movie Emperor award wasn’t so surprising anymore.

“Heh.” He chuckled softly. He had thought that after all these years, Lin Qin would still maintain that noble and aloof character he had in high school. Unexpectedly he hadn’t been able to endure the polishing of time and those edges had worn away.

Then what was the difference between him and Yi Ran who opened his legs shamelessly to offer himself?

He folded arms as he stood in the corridor, watching as Meng Chao walked towards Yi Ran, radiating a powerful aura. Even from a distance, he could still feel a sense of suppression.

Sure enough, he was really a member of the Meng family. Even if he had become a lowly actor, he still carried the Meng family’s aura with great dignity.

Meng Chao’s presence was really overwhelming, because the moment Yi Ran saw him walking over as he continued to clamour, he immediately fell silent, the sentence he had just been about to say getting stuck in his throat, unable to come out, causing him to choke, making him cough over and over.

Then Meng Chao stopped beside him, making him unable to help but take a few steps back.

The director looked at Meng Chao as if he had seen a savior and reached out to pat his shoulder, but was intimidated by his imposing aura. Withdrawing his hand, he said , “Movie Emperor Meng, please.” The crew’s hope of getting to sleep well tonight is now resting on your shoulders.

Meng Chao nodded at the director, then he turned his gaze towards Yi Ran.

“Do you believe that if I want you to leave, you’ll have to leave right now?” Meng Chao asked, his voice steady yet filled with an overwhelming sense of pressure.

Yi Ran couldn’t help but gulp. He hadn’t even cowered before the director, but he was cowering before Meng Chao.

He could disrespect Lin Qin, disrespect the production team of ‘We Are Together’, but no matter how confused he was, he couldn’t afford to offend the entertainment circle’s legendary figure Meng Chao even with Fang Ming Hui backing him.

So realising that his actions had angered Meng Chao, as he knew how to adapt to circumstances, he bowed quickly and apologized, “Senior Meng, I’m really sorry. It’s mainly because there are too many mosquitoes in the room. Look, I’ve been bitten several times.” He even rolled up his sleeves to show Meng Chao his bitten hands, as if to prove himself right.

“Let him go and sleep in Mr. Fang’s room . I believe Mr. Fang won’t mind.” Meng Chao said to the director, not even looking at him again.

The director nodded then immediately took Yi Ran, who started to smile when he heard that he could stay with Fang Ming Hui to him. And although the director knew that Fang Ming Hui had been watching the whole thing, he still embellished the story.

One could only say that the director was really skilled, because listening to his words, Fang Ming Hui even had the illusion that if he didn’t let Yi Ran share a room with him tonight, he would become an unforgivable sinner.

In the end, everyone was delighted with this arrangement, with Yi Ran going to sleep in his gold master’s room. And while Fang Ming Hui had initially resisted on the surface, once Yi Ran entered the room and started flirting, he couldn’t resist and pressed him down to f*ck.

However in the middle of their passionate rolling around, the name on his lips was unexpectedly Lin Qin.

And the production staff, seeing that things had finally calmed down, couldn’t help but breathe sighs of relief, yawning as they went back to sleep.

Lin Qin was curled up in the blanket, and the moment Meng Chao opened the door and entered, he let out a sigh of relief, poking his head out halfway as he asked, “Is it resolved?”

Walking over, Meng Chao lifted the blanket and laid down. Lin Qin rolled into his arms and Meng Chao hugged him tightly. “It has, let’s sleep.”

Lin Qin found a comfortable spot in his arms, yawned widely, and soon drifted off to sleep.

Meng Chao looked down at his peaceful sleeping face, his eyes filled with tenderness, and thinking back to when Lin Qin had pulled his hand, blushing as he asked that they sleep together earlier, he couldn’t help but find it both amusing and distressed.

Despite Lin Qin’s efforts to conceal it and appear strong, how could the fear triggered by Fang Ming Hui’s presence dissipate so quickly? It was just that during the day, his superb acting skills had masked it well.

But in the quiet of the night, this fear would resurface, enveloping him tightly, making sleep elusive.

Lin Qin himself knew how vulnerable he was but was willing to let it show in front of Meng Chao. Which was why before he could go back to his room, he had taken Meng Chao’s hand quietly, his face red as he asked if they could sleep together tonight.

And Meng Chao’s answer was obvious, because even though lying in the same bed with Lin Qin was a form of torment for him, it was also a sweet torment.

He lowered his head to kiss his forehead, saying softly, “Goodnight. Tomorrow, everything will be better.”

In response, Lin Qin snuggled closer to him, fully displaying himself to Meng Chao without a trace of fear.

Yes, Lin Qin now trusted Meng Chao greatly. While he used to subconsciously resist his touch, he now relied on him and cherished their subtle, intimate gestures that were exclusive to only the two of them.

Meng Chao, of course, welcomed this development, only waiting patiently for the moment when he could devour his little white rabbit.
