Chapter 94 Fang Ming Hui goes to prison

Editor: Jodi

Fang Ming Hui straightened his clothes to make himself look a little more put together. After losing everything to Meng Chao, he didn’t want to look like a lost dog in terms of temperament.

However even though he had straightened his clothes, the fatigue in his eyes betrayed him. He was exhausted from dealing with his family’s open and secret taunts as well as his failed attempts to revive the Fang Family so that those who were taunting him would look at him in a new light.

However he himself knew that his dreams were impossible, after all there were still the three big mountains pressing the Fang family.

And between having these dreams and reality tossing him back and forth, even though he was only twenty-six, he looked much as if he were in his thirties or forties, his hair already graying.

So when Meng Chao strode in confidently, Fang Ming Hui couldn’t help but feel jealous.

Once, he had also had the same stature and charisma like Meng Chao, unlike now where even his back was bent by life’s burdens.

Meng Chao almost didn’t recognise him, however he didn’t waste any time, “I know you know why I came here today. I thought you would’ve learned to be more humble after your downfall, I really didn’t expect that you would think your current appearance isn’t miserable enough.”

Fang Ming Hui pretended to not understand what he was saying, a puzzled expression on his face: “I don’t know what you’re talking about. If Great Movie Emperor Meng has no other business, then please leave. My small temple can’t accommodate a big buddha like you.”

Meng Chao said with a sneer, “Do you really think I came here to confront you today? Whether or not you did it, do you think I need evidence? I just came here to see how you look after falling in dire straits, and you look even worse than I imagined, but believe me, if you do anything to hurt Lin Qin again, I’ll make sure you’re even more miserable.”

How could one hit the once proud and lofty Fang Ming Hui where it hurt the most? The only way to hit him thoroughly was to throw his pride to the ground and trample on it ruthlessly.

And that was what Meng Chao was doing right now.

“You!” Fang Minghui didn’t expect Meng Chao to be so overbearing and unreasonable. He glared at him venomously, then regained his composure, the corners of his mouth lifting up as he said coldly, “If you won’t let me be, then I won’t make it easy for you either.”

Meng Chao looked at him in disdain, “Do you think you have the ability to fight with me?”

Then after saying this, he left without looking back.

Fang Ming Hui gritted his teeth as he looked at Meng Chao’s back as he walked away, however he had to admit that he really didn’t have what it took to fight with Meng Chao right now.

However he could make a comeback again. He believed that one day he would regain his original position, or even be in a higher position and knock down all those who had looked down on him and bullied him one by one.

However the next day, Fang Minghui realised that he wouldn’t have that chance at all.

The Fang Group Enterprise was caught in a major tax evasion scandal, which led to the investigation and arrest of senior executives, including Fang Ming Hui. Then as things were investigated, issues were traced back to his time at the tech company, resulting in his imprisonment for the significant financial discrepancies.

Only then did Fang Ming Hui realise that Meng Chao’s words, ‘I’ll make sure you’re even more miserable’, wasn’t just a warning, but a real threat.

Fang Ming Hui regretted it, but it was too late.

Lin Qin wasn’t happy when he heard about what happened to Fang Ming Hui, nor was he angry or feel other emotions. As he had said on his Weibo that day, those people were completely irrelevant to him now. Whether they were doing well or not, he couldn’t care less.

….

A month after the new year, Meng Ke dumped all the company affairs on Meng Chao then packed his bags excitedly to travel to Europe with Han Zhi.

And before leaving, he swore that he wouldn’t come back if he didn’t win Han Zhi’s heart.

Meng Chao joked with him, “Then you’ll probably never come back.”

Meng Ke directly told him to scram, telling him not to jinx him with his crow mouth.

However with all that joking, on the day Meng Chao drove Meng Ke to the airport, he sincerely wished Meng Ke would win his love.

When Han Zhi went to Europe to film a music video for his new album, he thought he could finally shake Meng Ke off and enjoy some peace and quiet for a good half a month, and just thinking about it made him excited.

However when he arrived in Europe, opened the door to his hotel room and saw Meng Ke coming out of the opposite room, he rolled his eyes directly as he looked up.

Meng Ke greeted him with a big grin, “What a coincidence, you’re also here in Europe on a vacation?”

Han Zhi slammed his door shut with a bang. He didn’t believe Meng Ke didn’t know he was coming here to film a music video. He was really everywhere.

However although he was complaining, he couldn’t help but smile after he closed the door.

Actually, maybe he didn’t dislike Meng Ke as much as he thought. Maybe he even liked him a little.

Just a little, Han Zhi told himself.

Over the next half-month, while Han Zhi was immersed in filming his music video, Meng Ke found various reasons to appear on set, and he was very personable, always bringing snacks for Han Zhi and the crew, quickly becoming popular among them.

Some foreigners looked at Meng Ke and Han Zhi with ambiguous glances, making Han Zhi feel as if he and Meng Ke were really a couple.

At the beginning, Han Zhi tried to clarify their relationship a couple of times, but soon realized that explanations were futile and so gave up. After all, they wouldn’t see each other after the cooperation, so there was no need for too many explanations.

Seeing Han Zhi’s behavior, Meng Ke mistakenly thought Han Zhi had tacitly agreed to their relationship, so he couldn’t help but get a bit carried away.

Han Zhi didn’t notice Meng Ke’s progress, or rather, he had not yet realized he was becoming more accommodating towards Meng Ke. It seemed Meng Ke could always break his principles and boundaries. Or perhaps, his principles and boundaries meant nothing when it came to Meng Ke, easily broken by himself.

Their entanglement continued until the filming of the music video was completed, but in the end, Meng Ke wasn’t able to get Han Zhi to agree to be with him, leaving Meng Ke somewhat disheartened. Was it really going to be like what Meng Chao said, that he would never go back home?

The turn of events happened on the next night.

There was a famous music festival in K City, and Meng Ke knew Han Zhi wanted to attend, so he managed to get two tickets and invited him to go with him.

And for the sake of the festival, Han Zhi agreed happily.

The festival was crowded and Han Zhi was very relaxed, originally thinking they would enjoy the night and then return home. However who would have expected that their luck would be so bad that they would get caught up in a terrorist attack.
