Chapter 95 Positive result after sustained efforts

Editor: Jodi

Meng Chao received the news of Meng Ke and Han Zhi encountering a terrorist attack while it was midnight back in C Country.

It was the urgent ringing of the phone that woke both him and Lin Qin up, with the call coming from Han Zhi’s agent.

And the information was that at the moment, they only knew that a music festival in K City of a certain European country had encountered a terrorist attack, with the casualty count exceeding twenty, a number that continued to rise as rescue efforts unfolded.

Han Zhi and Meng Ke had gone to this concert and now, with chaos at the venue, it was impossible to get in touch with the two of them.

And hearing this, Meng Chao’s heart tightened immediately, then he made up his mind to rush to Europe overnight.

Lin Qin didn’t stop him even though he knew very well that the situation over there was still unstable and dangerous, because if he didn’t allow Meng Chao to go, it would mean he would keep on feeling uneasy.

“Meng Chao Ge, be careful.” Lin Qin said as he saw Meng Chao off to the door and Meng Chao, holding the back of his head, kissed him fiercely then turned and disappeared into the night.

Back in their room, Lin Qin was unable to fall asleep no matter what, and so decided to look up the latest news on his phone.

The news had already spread in C Country, with netizens everywhere praying for K City then somehow, the news that Han Zhi was also at the concert leaked, causing a panic among his fans.

If this information was false, Han Zhi’s company would have already clarified it to avoid unnecessary panic, however Chu Tian Entertainment didn’t let out a peep, and their account was silent.

And with this, his fans inevitably, desperate for news, turned to Lin Qin’s Weibo, as he was the young owner of Chu Tian Entertainment, meaning he would definitely know the whereabouts of his artist.

Lin Qin was already upset, so seeing the messages asking for help put him on edge even more, causing him to be unable to sit still..

However he held back and didn’t respond, as he knew that anything said at this moment would be wrong because he, like the fans, was also waiting for news anxiously.

After a long wait till morning, Lin Qin received a call from his mother, Chu Ge.

“Meng Chao has gone to Europe?”

The news of Meng Ke being caught in a terrorist attack had already spread among the upper circles overnight, with the Meng family even reaching out everywhere to find his whereabouts, however with things being chaotic over there, even with connections it was still difficult to find out about what was happening.

And knowing the brotherly bond between Meng Chao and Meng Ke, Meng Chao would have definitely rushed to Europe after hearing the news.

Lin Qin affirmed Chu Ge’s guess with an ‘En’ sound, causing Chu Ge to sigh, then she asked him, “Do you want to go and check on Auntie Lan?”

Auntie Lan, Meng Chao and Meng Ke’s mother would undoubtedly be the most anxious person at the moment. Lin Qin felt that his mother wasn’t wrong, and so after they were done talking, he drove to the Meng family’s old mansion.

And the mansion was indeed in a state of urgency, however when he saw Auntie Lan, the expression on her face was quite calm, and she didn’t look as if she had been hit too hard.

And seeing him, she motioned for him to come over, “You’re thoughtful.”

“Auntie Lan, are you okay?” Lin Qin asked worriedly as he sat down beside her.

“I believe they are blessed by fortune and so will be safe.” Auntie Lan said with certainty, however Lin Qin knew that her saying this was more for herself than anything.

“Everything will be alright!” Lin Qin repeated with conviction.

The night passed and finally, there was news from Meng Chao.

Meng Chao: “I’ve arrived in Europe, all is well, so don’t worry.”

However, this didn’t let Lin Qin’s heart that was hanging fall, because knowing that Meng Chao was now in that tumultuous place made him even more anxious.

And online, as there was no news about Han Zhi, Chu Tian Entertainment and Lin Qin’s inboxes were close to exploding as netizens asked whether Han Zhi was in Europe or not, whether he was safe now and that if he was, to please make him send a post to tell them he was okay.

However how could Han Zhi send a post? They didn’t even know whether he was dead or alive. It couldn’t be that they should post misleading information on his behalf right?

However in the end, Chu Tian Entertainment, no longer able to ignore the fans’ desperation, could only respond.

Chu Tian Entertainment V: “We always believe that he will be alright. @Han Zhi, please respond if you receive this.”

This post directly addressed whether Han Zhi was in K City, causing many fans to break down in tears as they used the same style that Chu Tian Entertainment had used to beg him to respond.

Lin Qin kept in touch with Meng Chao, however as the concert had attracted a lot of people, it could be imagined just how much damage the terrorist attack had caused in such a densely packed crowd.

And despite K City’s full efforts, the rescue operations struggled to keep up, so Meng Chao, who was involved in the rescue efforts, could only occasionally spare a moment to reassure Lin Qin and his family.

Two days passed in a blur, then there was finally progress with the rescue work.

Lin Qin had been too scared to sleep these days, afraid that if he did, he would miss out on important information. It was only today that he was able to  squeeze in a nap then the moment he woke up, he immediately turned his phone on to catch up on the latest developments.

And when he checked Weibo, he found a post made by Han Zhi that was sitting at the top of the hot search.

Han Zhi V: “I’m okay and currently helping with the rescue efforts. Sorry for making you worry.” [Picture]

Accompanying the post was a selfie of him covered in grime, a stark contrast to his usual refined appearance, however it gave those who saw it an overwhelming sense of relief.

Now that Han Zhi had been found, Meng Ke would also be found right? Lin Qin prayed in his heart.

Then in the afternoon, he finally received another call from Meng Chao, and even though it had been only two days without him hearing his voice, to Lin Qin, it felt as if it was a lifetime ago.

Meng Chao: “I’m on tonight’s flight, and it’s expected to arrive tomorrow night.”

Lin Qin couldn’t help but cry, choking out, “Welcome back.”

Meng Chao changed the topic hurriedly, “Big brother and Han Zhi are also coming back with me. Big brother is finally able to come back home.”

Lin Qin knew about Meng Ke’s half-joking vow to not return until he had won Han Zhi over, so now that he was hearing Meng Chao say this, it meant Meng Ke and Han Zhi had finally become official.

Finally!

Lin Qin couldn’t help but be happy for Meng Ke as he both cried and laughed on the phone with Meng Chao.

Then Meng Chao said a few words to reassure him then hearing the sound of the airport announcement, he hung up.

Despite Meng Chao’s insistence for him to not wait for him, Lin Qin still went to the airport to pick him up on the day of his return.

The flight carried many like Meng Ke and Han Zhi, survivors of the incident, hence despite the fact that the plane would land after 11 PM, the airport was still crowded with family members who were waiting.

Those who had survived the incident naturally wanted to return to their loved ones immediately, while the nervous hearts of their loved ones also needed to be soothed.

Then an airport announcement sounded, then the flight, which carried the hopes of many people, finally landed amid the crowd’s anxious anticipation.
