Chapter 93 Won’t be hurt again

Editor: Jodi

Lin Qin V: When I saw those pictures of the campus violence I suffered in the past, I was actually very calm, because to me, it’s just a past. Maybe I was once trapped in this past, unable to extricate myself, not wanting to have any contact with this world.

But I’ve come out now. I’ve really stepped out of the past. I have a lover, and I have family, and they’ve given me lots of courage.

So for those trying to provoke those unbearable memories of the past with these pictures, to make me fall back into that pain, let me tell you right now, it won’t work.

Instead, these pictures will only serve to expose your past sins and will become indelible stains in your lives.

Perhaps I should wish you well, that you live your lives well, instead of displaying your sins to the public like maggots that only disgust others.

When I graduated from that high school, everything about me had nothing to do with you. I’m doing very well now, better than you, probably better than you can imagine, so you don’t need to concern yourselves with me.

And to those who care about me, I’m very grateful. It’s your love that gives me the courage to face everything.

Lin Qin, March 6th, 201x.

Lin Qin posted this response, and in less than two minutes, shares and comments rose past ten thousand, all of them from fans and passersby encouraging him, with some also cursing the person with ulterior motives who had posted those pictures.

Indeed, that past was something that had hurt Lin Qin, but now someone was maximising it publicly, with the aim of hurting him a second time.

However Lin Qin’s response was polite and firm, slapping that person in the face hard.

One fan wrote: [Little Rabbit Lin, let’s ignore them. We will walk with you all the way. Let that past drift away with the wind and together, we will face the future, come rain or shine.]

This comment immediately received tens of thousands of likes.

And Lin Qin, also seeing it, liked it as well and replied with a thank you.

This crisis started with a bang, but Lin Qin faced it with ease, dispelling the crisis invisibly with a single response.

Lin Qin, watching the winds of public opinion turning in a favorable direction, handed his phone to Meng Chao, saying in a carefree and content manner, “Look, look, didn’t I handle this well?”

Lin Qin had said before that he could bear certain things himself, so when those pictures appeared online, Meng Chao and Chu Hong respected his choice and showed them to him first.

However Lin Qin didn’t show the anger or fear they had expected because of the pictures, as it was just as he had said in his response. He was very calm, as if he was looking at someone else’s story.

And in the same calm manner, asked Meng Chao and Chu Hong to leave this matter for him to handle.

The two respected Lin Qin’s decision, and after Lin Qin wrote his response, he felt completely relaxed.

He was calm because he knew he was saying goodbye to that dark past.

Meng Chao, after reading some of the comments online, had to admit that Lin Qin had really handled this matter well. He caressed his hair, not holding back as he praised him, “My Qin Qin is the best.”

Lin Qin smiled proudly as he looked at the rising sun in the distance, feeling as radiant as the sunshine.

As for how this matter would be resolved afterwards, Lin Qin left it all to Meng Chao and Chu Hong.

And soon, they identified Huang Wenkai as the person who had leaked those pictures, something which was unexpected as Huang Wenkai had no connection to Lin Qin’s high school days.

Huang Wenkai had been blacklisted by the industry for a previous incident and harboring resentment against Lin Qin, he immediately contacted Lin Qin’s former classmates the moment he learned about the campus violence from Lin Qin’s high school days and obtained those pictures of him.

Then he even consulted a psychologist to see whether seeing traumatic pictures from the past could exacerbate a patient’s condition.

And the answer he got, was that it could.

Thus, Huang Wenkai planned this event with the aim of plunging Lin Qin back into that endless darkness.

However he would have never expected that Lin Qin’s situation had changed entirely. He had moved on from his past, hence the pictures couldn’t provoke any fear in him.

And so with this, Huang Wenkai’s plan was doomed to fail.

In the end, Huang Wenkai received the punishment he deserved. He would never be able to stay in the entertainment industry ever again, and, having entered the industry at nineteen, he knew nothing outside of it, so after being ousted, he quickly spent all his savings, and with no other skills to fall on and not having the patience to learn something new, he ended up in a dire situation where he couldn’t even afford a meal.

However for Meng Chao, this matter was far from over. He didn’t believe that Huang Wenkai could have gotten those pictures just based on his status alone. There had to be someone else behind him who played a much more important role.

Meng Chao unraveled the web quietly, and sure enough, he stumbled on some clues.

He found out that Huang Wenkai’s first gold master after he entered the entertainment industry was Fang Ming Hui, and that during this period, there had been numerous calls between the two of them.

This was definitely not a coincidence, thus, there could only be one possibility: Huang Wenkai’s actions had been instigated by Fang Ming Hui.

After the Fang Family was jointly attacked by the Lin, Meng, and Chu families the last time, they had been greatly diminished, however a lean camel was bigger than a horse, so the Fang Group Enterprise was still holding on, but barely. Fang Ming Hui’s tech company however declared bankruptcy two months ago.

Meng Chao had thought that after that lesson, Fang Ming Hui would honestly put his teeth and claws away and learn to be a human being, however he didn’t expect that he was still secretly thinking about how to hurt Lin Qin.

Meng Chao’s eyes narrowed slightly, a dangerous light spreading in them, and then the next day, he went directly to the Fang Group Enterprise.

Fang Ming Hui now held the position of general manager at the Fang Group Enterprise, however his situation was very awkward. He was often scorned and disdained by his own brothers as they blamed him for the Fang Family’s current predicament, hence even though he was now the general manager of the Fang Group, instead of feeling free, he was suppressed at every turn and didn’t have any of the arrogance and recklessness that he’d had before.

When Fang Ming Hui heard from his secretary that Meng Chao was looking for him, his heart sank slightly, as he guessed that things had probably been exposed.

However he calmed himself down. From the beginning to the end, everything had been done by Huang Wenkai alone without his direct involvement, so it meant that Meng Chao didn’t have any evidence. So as long as he denied it to the death no matter what in a while, it would be okay.
