Chapter 81 Couple at loggerheads

When Chu Ge saw the familiar decoration, she felt a touch of emotion in her heart, however the moment she heard Lin Cheng Du’s words that feeling dissipated, replaced by a nameless anger as she wished she could tear his face that had that fake smile on it into shreds.

Lin Qin smiled at Chu Ge, “Anything is fine for me.”

And Lin Qin, with a clear and perceptive mind, quickly recognized the problems between his parents. If there were no feelings left, then he wouldn’t mind; they could continue to prolong their stalemate. However the irony was that their feelings hadn’t diminished at all, hence this prolonged state of unresolved issues was simply just a sheer waste of time and a sheer waste of life.

After thinking for a long time as he sat on the sofa, Lin Qin looked at Lin Cheng Du then asked, “Dad, why didn’t you just tell mom the truth? You clearly can’t let go of the past.”

Lin Cheng Du’s old face turned red then he said in a somewhat defensive manner, “Where did I not tell the truth? What I said was the truth!”

Lin Qin asked again, “Do you think mom is beautiful now?”

Even though Lin Cheng Du often enjoyed disagreeing with Chu Ge, on this matter, he had to admit that his ex-wife was beautiful and charming. Hence, he turned his head away, choosing not to answer.

“I think mom is really beautiful.” Lin Qin said with a smile. “And there must be a lot of people pursuing her now, right?”

“How is that possible!” Lin Cheng Du argued back subconsciously: “She’s an old lady now, how could there be anyone pursuing her?”

And it just so happened that Chu Ge was coming out of the kitchen, and hearing Lin Cheng Du’s words, she huffed loudly, “Then I’ll have to disappoint you. This ‘old lady’ is way more sought after than you, this old man! There are enough people pursuing me to line up from my company to the airport!”

Lin Cheng Du scoffed, “Keep dreaming your daydreams!”

“Lin Cheng Du, you!” Chu Ge slammed the bowl on the dining table and was about to retort when she suddenly flashed a flirtatious smile, adjusted her wavy hair over her shoulder then said, “If it wasn’t because my darling son was coming back today I wouldn’t have even bothered to come over here to have dinner with an old man like you. There are a lot of young fresh meat lining up eagerly waiting to invite me to dinner!”

Lin Cheng Du’s blood rushed up in anger, “You dare to go!”

“Why wouldn’t I?” Chu Ge chuckled, “Isn’t having dinner with a young fresh meat more interesting than eating with an old man like you?”

Chu Ge calling him an old man repeatedly showed that she was quite bothered by him having called her an old woman earlier.

And observing his changing expressions with amusement, Chu Ge knew he still cared about her. However she still said, “Besides, what right do you have to control me? Are you my husband or my boyfriend? I can have dinner with whoever I want, can’t I?”

Lin Cheng Du was left speechless, and just as he was struggling for a comeback, he saw Lin Qin who was trying to make himself less noticeable and said sternly, “How can you say such things in front of our son? I’m embarrassed for you if you’re not!”

Chu Ge also looked at Lin Qin, “Baby, you also want mummy to find someone who can accompany her for the rest of her life, don’t you?”

Lin Cheng Du also turned to Lin Qin, his narrowed eyes filled with threats.
