Chapter 47.2
Editor: Jodi
The next morning, right after breakfast, a truck from the home store arrived, loaded with the selected furniture and decorations, along with—two truckloads of mattresses and bedding?
The program team was stunned as the manager of the home store got off the truck, smiling charmingly, “I heard your conditions are a bit harsh, so these mattresses and bedding are a special gift from our boss.”
Then after saying this, he turned towards Shen Ci and gave a gentlemanly bow, “Young Master Shen, please allow us to personally deliver and install these for you.”
Then Shen Ci felt the eyes of everyone around him on him, causing his scalp to tingle, “……. Feel free, thank you.”
Zhou Yang muttered quietly, “Confirmed: the crown prince indeed.”
They had brought enough mattresses, bedding, and pillows for all the artists, which made Shen Ci breathe a sigh of relief. If they hadn’t, everyone’s fans would have definitely caused a stir.
A number of movers had come, so it just took a morning of working hard to get all the large items installed. Then once the people from the furniture store left, the real work for the artists began.
However standing in front of several boxes of decorations, they were at a bit of a loss. It wasn’t until Shao Jinhuan calmly took the lead and divided the tasks that everyone started their work happily.
“Ah—” Jiang Shu suddenly winced in pain and sat down hard on the ground.
The cameras immediately focused on her, and Guo Nuan Nuan, who was closest, quickly put down the wallpaper she was holding and rushed over to help. “Sister Jiang, what happened?”
Jiang Shu forced a weak smile and tried to stand up. “It’s nothing, I think I just twisted my ankle—”
But she fell back to the ground again, this time bruising her knee.
“Sister Jiang, why don’t you take a break?” Zhou Yang suggested as he passed by.
“No, no, I can still continue.” Jiang Shu quickly refused.
Although many people around her advised her to rest, Jiang Shu still insisted stubbornly on continuing to work, causing the other artists to roll their eyes inside.
It was clear to everyone that she was pretending to be injured in order to get more camera time and avoid the hard work.
No one wanted to offend anyone, so they went along with her, however her persistent act began to annoy them.
In the end Cheng Yun, who was tired of the back-and-forth helped her up forcefully and brought her to the sofa. “Sister Jiang, just rest, okay?”
Jiang Shu continued talking anxiously, but this time, everyone pretended not to hear.
And with one less person working, the tasks had to be redistributed.
Shen Ci volunteered to take on Jiang Shu’s tasks, but Wei Shuo knocked on his head. “Taking on more work for yourself? Are you trying to exhaust yourself?”
Shen Ci protested, “The tasks I have are already quite few. I feel useless.”
He wasn’t wrong. Compared to the other guys, his workload was about half, similar to what the girls had.
Although Wei Shuo despised Shao Jinhuan’s way of currying favor with Shen Ci using public services, since Shen Ci was the one benefiting, he reluctantly pretended not to notice.
Shao Jinhuan said faintly, “You’re not that strong, and your stamina isn’t great.”
Shen Ci was momentarily at a loss for words. What Shao Jinhuan said was true, but having a workload similar to the girls’ was a bit shameful.
In the end, they compromised. Shen Ci took on half of Jiang Shu’s workload, which was relatively light.
Then like a busy bee, Shen Ci buzzed around the guesthouse, occasionally helping the three girls carry things, blending in well with everyone.
The whole guesthouse buzzed with activity, and the director arranged for several cameras to follow Shen Ci, ensuring he would get plenty of screen time in the edits.
Jiang Shu who was sitting alone on the sofa eating apples brought by the villagers felt a bit regretful.
Decorating looked easy….. If she hadn’t pretended to hurt her foot on a whim, she would have been the one getting the most camera time now!
She glared at Shen Ci with a resentful expression. How did he end up getting all the good parts?
**
“…..The transportation here is really bad. How can anyone come to visit?”
“Yeah, but the internet is great.”
“The scenery is also amazing! When I hiked up the mountain this morning, it was breathtaking. I’m declaring this place Mount Tai 2.0!”
As the artists worked, they chatted about how to attract visitors to the guesthouse, feeling a bit troubled.
The village was great, with mountains, scenery, and fruits, but it lacked fame.
The director who was standing on the side remained silent, his only job was to just document the filming. How to solve the problems and develop the guesthouse….. was up to the participating artists, and that, would make for more interesting viewing.
Wei Shuo: “Why don’t we try live streaming?”
Shen Ci’s eyes lit up. “Are we going to do another mukbang? Are we having hot pot or barbecue?”
“Have your big head!” Wei Shuo poked Shen Ci’s forehead. “Fill your head with something practical, little flower vase!”
Everyone burst into laughter, and Shen Ci blushed, pouting silently.
A light bulb went off in Zhou Yang’s head. “I get what Shuo Ge means! You’re suggesting we advertise the village through live streaming, right? If a top influencer like you does it… it’s a great idea!”
Guo Nuan Nuan: “That’s right, we could even sell the villagers’ produce through the stream. The fruit here is delicious!”
Wei Shuo chuckled, “It’d be a waste of the great internet here not to live stream.”
“But.” Shen Ci sighed, “we don’t even have a bus here, and only the locals dare drive on the mountain roads. Even if we live stream, how can we attract guests to the guesthouse?”
His question stumped everyone.
In the end, there were only a few long sighs.
However although the transportation issue remained unsolved, the live stream idea got the show’s approval and was scheduled.
So that once the first episode aired, they would start using live streams to promote the village and the guesthouse.
**
Decorating the guesthouse took over two days, and with three days left before the first episode aired, everyone wandered around the village to gather more footage.
“We might end up turning ‘Perfect Guesthouse’ into ‘Perfect Streamers’…” Shen Ci sighed, resting his chin in his hand.
Wei Shuo patted his shoulder. “Sigh, it’s fine. As long as you get paid and gain popularity, it’s all good!”
Shen Ci sighed again, but didn’t say anything when Wei Shuo’s gaze drifted over his shoulder, then he suddenly squinted at something in the distance.
“Huh? Xiao Ci, look over there, isn’t that—”
Shen Ci turned, then his eyes widened. “A bus?!”
Unexpectedly, the small mountain village really connected with the city and opened a bus route, something which was a complete surprise.
However Wei Shuo and Shen Ci discussed it privately, and their object of suspicion was Lu Xiao, because Shen Ci had complained to him many times in their chats.
“Never underestimate the Big Devil’s ability to pull off crazy moves.” Wei Shuo said solemnly.
“Especially since he’s a…” Wife-doting maniac!
Shen Ci: “What?”
Wei Shuo: “A great guy.”
That day, the village chief went around excitedly to inform all the villagers who set off several strings of firecrackers next to the bus and even shed tears of happiness while circling the bus, crazy with joy.
Then the village chief insisted it was the production team’s doing and invited them for dinner, and unable to resist his enthusiasm, they could only accept it.
The evening’s outdoor feast was delicious, likely prepared by the village’s best cooks.
At first, the artists were reserved, but as they drank, they let loose. Zhou Yang and Wei Shuo even began howling out songs, turning a love song into a wild dance party that sounded as if it had bounded of from a grave.
Shen Ci quietly sipped juice and turned on his phone’s camera.
“Hey, Shen Ci looks so good. Since he’s from Yunxiao, he must be great at dancing!” Cheng Yun laughed.
A now-tipsy Wei Shuo got excited. “Absolutely! He’s amazing!”
Shen Ci, wary, put his juice down and grabbed his chair tightly. “What are you planning to do?!”
Wei Shuo laughed and pulled Shen Ci, chair and all, into the center of a few tables. “Hurry up and dance, hurry up and dance! If you don’t, I’ll show everyone the video of you wetting the bed when you were a kid!”
Shen Ci: “???”
Left with no choice, he stood there with his chair.
Then he was faced with the earnest stares of the villagers, the encouragement of the stars, and the eager cameras…
Shen Ci really wished he could dive into the nearby barbecue grill and end it all. All he knew was the third set of radio calisthenics. He didn’t know how to dance!
