Chapter 62.3

Taking multiple cold showers in the middle of the night and then sitting on the balcony in just a bathrobe, smoking. The result, unsurprisingly, was waking up the next day with a cold.
So early in the morning, the small apartment was filled with clattering noises and the loud thuds of footsteps running around.
Shen Ci ran back and forth in his pajamas, grabbing medicine, boiling water—completely overwhelmed.
However he had rushed too fast earlier and tripped, spilling the warm water he had just prepared all over the floor. Now, he was carefully carrying a second cup into the master bedroom.
Lu Xiao lay under the covers, his brows furrowed as he let out a few coughs. His voice was hoarse as he apologized, “Baby, I’m sorry, I can’t take you to class today.”
Shen Ci hurried over, set the warm water down, and said, “Class is nothing. Little Uncle’s health is the most important.”
He tore open the box of cold medicine, fumbling to pop out a few pills in a hurry. “Little Uncle, take your medicine first.”
“Baby, bring me my phone.” Lu Xiao rarely had moments of such weakness, where even his limbs felt powerless. “I’ll call the driver to take you.”
Shen Ci shook his head like a rattling drum. “No, I’m staying to take care of Little Uncle.”
And he meant it. Ignoring the risk of getting scolded, he quickly called his professor and asked for the day off.
“Are you just using me as an excuse to skip class?” Lu Xiao chuckled helplessly.
That one sentence puffed Shen Ci up like an angry little pufferfish. He huffed that Lu Xiao was being petty and thinking the worst of him, then straight-up confiscated his phone.
Lu Xiao didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. And before he could resist, Shen Ci took advantage of his weakened state and forced him to take his medicine and lie back down.
After getting everything settled, Shen Ci stood over him with his hands on his hips, chin slightly raised, looking a little smug. “Little Uncle, looks like it’s finally my turn to take care of you.”
Lu Xiao gave him a gentle smile. “Then I’ll have to trouble baby.”
Shen Ci grinned. “I’m going to ask for leave on your behalf. You’re not allowed to go to work sick.”
Lu Xiao’s lips curved into a helpless smile, but his eyes were filled with indulgence and affection.
Shen Ci stepped away, pulled out Lu Xiao’s phone from his pocket, and turned on the screen.
Unlocking the phone… Shen Ci thought for a moment, then tried their shared birthday. With a soft click, the screen unlocked.
Shen Ci: “….” This guy was way too easy to figure out. There was no challenge at all.
Pouting, he scrolled through the contacts, found Special Assistant Min’s number, and dialed.
“Hello? Special Assistant Min, this is Shen Ci.”
Shen Ci’s voice was soft and sweet. The moment Special Assistant Min heard it, he frowned, but after a brief moment of thought, he understood.
A few days ago, Lu Xiao had publicly declared that he was pursuing Shen Ci. The two had always been close—maybe they were already living together.
Special Assistant Min: “Mr. Shen? May I ask what this is about—?”
Shen Ci: “Uh, I’d like to request leave for my Little Uncle. Please push all his scheduled appointments back by a day.”
Special Assistant Min hesitated. “Uh—today’s schedule is really important. Could you have President Lu speak with me directly?”
Taking leave while in the middle of chasing someone? Most likely just an excuse to spend time with his crush.
Lu Xiao had already used this excuse to push back quite a few appointments, and Special Assistant Min was very concerned.
Who knew if this was something Lu Xiao offered on his own or if the person he doted on had sweet-talked him into it?
People had always heard that Little Young Master Shen was spoiled beyond belief. Just when his reputation was starting to improve, turns out he hadn’t really changed at all.
Shen Ci let out a long sigh. “It’s best not to. He’s really unwell right now—probably can’t even walk properly. Just let him rest, okay? Please, Special Assistant Min…”
Special Assistant Min froze. Through the phone, he faintly heard a weak and hoarse “Baby” from the other end—unintentionally confirming Shen Ci’s words.
Shen Ci immediately sped up his speech. “Little Uncle’s calling me—gotta go, Special Assistant Min! Don’t forget to reschedule his appointments, bye!”
The call ended, and for the first time, a crack of confusion appeared on Special Assistant Min’s usually icy face.
Feeling unwell, unable to move, too sick to come to the office, and even had Shen Ci request leave on his behalf…
No way, right?
The president looked so manly, but he was actually the one on the bottom?
Little Young Master Shen looked all thin and delicate, with such a cute face, but turns out he was the real beast who could keep the president bedridden…
