Chapter 59.2

Editor: Jodi

“I’m going to change. Shuo Shuo, go out.” Shen Ci told him.

Wei Shuo didn’t budge, looking surprised. “You’re scared I’ll see? Come on, we’re bros. Back then, we even stripped down to see whose bird was bigger. What’s there to be shy about now?”

Shen Ci had no choice but to grab a pillow and whack him to chase him out. It was only after he shooed the reluctant Wei Shuo away and locked the door that he double-checked the lock several times before he felt secure.

What a joke….. With all these suggestive marks on his body, Wei Shuo, who was addicted to gossip, would definitely interrogate him to death if he saw. Where would he even hide his face then?

Thinking about it, he couldn’t help but blame Lu Xiao a little, however the corners of his mouth still curled up in a smile.

**

Shen Ci was naturally a heavy sleeper, however he barely got any rest last night, so he was so drowsy in the minibus and the airport lounge that he kept dozing off again and again.

Yawning, he glanced at Lu Xiao, who was focused on reading electronic documents, feeling a bit puzzled.

How did he look so full of energy? They had clearly both been up late fooling around last night.

Lu Xiao looked over, flicked his nose gently, and said indulgently, “Baby, go to sleep. I’ll wake you up later.”

His face tilted up, Shen Ci nodded obediently, his doe-like eyes glistening with confusion.

Lu Xiao found him so adorable that chuckling softly, he leaned down to kiss the tip of his nose, a gesture full of affection.

Surprisingly, Min Shoubei didn’t say a word. He just shot them a cold glance, then turned away and closed his eyes to rest.

Shen Ci found it odd, but his head was so foggy that he couldn’t think straight.

He had no idea how he got on the plane or how he got off, but by the time Shen Ci was fully awake, they had already arrived in G City.

“I’m going home to sleep forever.” Shen Ci mumbled as he wobbled along, dragging his suitcase, only to be yanked back by Min Shoubei.

Min Shoubei: “Get a good rest tonight. I’ll pick you up at your place tomorrow. Send me your apartment address later.”

Shen Ci was confused. “Why are you picking me up?”

Min Shoubei looked at him as if he was looking at an idiot. “Didn’t we agree earlier that I’d take you to audit classes at the Drama College? It’s all arranged.”

Shen Ci was dumbfounded, thinking in his heart, isn’t this way too fast? Min Shoubei’s efficiency is borderline scary…

He’d thought he could enjoy a break… He’d even made plans with Wei Shuo to go bungee jumping this morning, and now it was all ruined.

However he didn’t dare protest and could only agree reluctantly, crying metaphorical wide noodles in his heart.

*

The Drama College Min Shoubei had arranged was in University Town. When Shen Ci arrived, he was overly cautious, fully armed with a hat, sunglasses, and a mask, only to get a call from Brother Zhang telling him to stop.

Shen Ci felt a little embarrassed: “Have I fallen so far that no one would recognize me anyway…?”

Brother Zhang burst into laughter. “No, no, that’s not what I meant. Just make a casual effort to protect your privacy. Attending acting classes isn’t something you need to sneak around for—it might even boost your reputation.”

Shen Ci nodded in half-understanding.

By the time Min Shoubei drove him to the teaching building, students were already trickling in.

Shen Ci dressed simply, with just a black mask, but he still stood out among the casually dressed college students, drawing quite a few curious glances.

“Whoa, his eyes are so pretty—so bright and shiny!”

“And he’s so fair-skinned… He looks kinda familiar? A guy this good-looking—I must know him!”

“Shen Ci! Oh my god, it’s my cub! Everyone, I’m going to get his autograph—“

“…..”

By the time Shen Ci finally found the classroom, more than ten minutes had passed. Along the way, he’d run into several fans and had patiently taken photos and signed autographs, which delayed him quite a bit.

He glanced around and, as expected, the back rows were almost completely full. Only the first three rows had plenty of empty seats, clearly left for latecomers.

Sighing, he rubbed his forehead and resigned himself to sitting in the farthest corner of the front row. The classroom was large, and this spot was in the teacher’s blind spot. He tried his best to make himself invisible.

Who would’ve thought that after graduating, he’d still be forced to go back to school? And he had to take detailed notes too, because Min Shoubei would be checking them. He felt like crying but had no tears.

This acting class focused on how to portray sadness. The instructor was a middle-aged man who seemed approachable and had a knack for humor.

After explaining a bunch of examples, the teacher sipped his water and scanned the classroom. Sure enough, most students were on their phones, with only a handful scribbling notes diligently.

“Alright! Now for some hands-on practice. Let’s have two students come up and act out the scene on the PPT.”

Immediately, everyone ducked their heads lower, desperately hoping not to be picked.

The teacher sighed. “Class monitor of Group 2, Lu An, lead by example.”

A boy sitting in the first row stood up at the mention of his name and walked to the podium.

The teacher frowned and scanned the room, his gaze landing on a boy in the front row who was straining his neck to look at the PPT while scribbling furiously.

This student looked unfamiliar, but he’d been taking notes diligently since the beginning of class and was even jotting down an analysis now…

Such a hardworking student—it’d be a waste not to give him some attention.

“The boy in the mask on the edge of the first row—come on up too.” The teacher said gently.

All eyes in the classroom instantly turned to Shen Ci, and whispers broke out everywhere.

Shen Ci, who had just been grumbling about how terrible the view from the front row was and how hard it was to copy the PPT, froze mid-note and turned his neck stiffly to look at the teacher.

Why was he the chosen one?!
