Chapter 51.1
Editor: Jodi
The rustling of the wind swept past Shen Ci’s ears gently, even as his mind remained completely blank.
The touch on his lips was soft and scorching hot, and after it was invaded, an entanglement that became impossible to break free from, the remaining air in his throat was stolen away greedily.
Shen Ci gradually found it difficult to breathe, and just when his brain was about to turn to mush from the suffocation, he was finally released.
Immediately, his body went limp, causing him to fall dazedly into Lu Xiao’s arms like a puppet, where he was hugged tightly.
“Baby…” Lu Xiao lowered his head, kissing the crown of his head gently, his breath hot against him.
His fingertips trembled almost imperceptibly as he struggled to suppress the nervousness and faint regret that rose up after his impulsive action.
However since it had already happened, there was no turning back.
A few meteors streaked across in the distant sky again silently, the night remaining tranquil.
It took a long moment before Shen Ci came back to his senses, then he lifted his head, his face flushed red, his eyes wide with shock.
He…. he had just been kissed, right! His first kiss had been taken whilst he was caught off guard…
No, no, the real issue was, why did Lu Xiao kiss him!
His mind was a jumbled mess, however a pair of warm, broad hands covered his eyes gently, then his earlobe was grazed softly, causing him to nearly jump out of his skin.
“Do you know my wish now?” A husky, deep voice exploded by his ear, causing his legs to go weak.
“I…” Shen Ci’s voice was as faint as a mosquito’s buzz as he bit his lip in hesitation, unable to continue.
He had a vague suspicion in his heart, however he didn’t dare approach that realization, unsure of what answer he wanted to hear.
His lips were pecked again gently, and with his vision still obscured, his heartbeat thundered nervously.
A deep, magnetic chuckle resonated clearly: “Even sweeter than I imagined.”
Ah… did his little uncle even know what he was saying?
Shen Ci had never experienced anything like this before. He was so tense that his toes curled tightly, too nervous to say a word.
“Do you hate this?” Lu Xiao lowered his head to kiss him again, the obvious tremble in his voice disappearing before it could be heard.
However Shen Ci didn’t notice the unnaturalness in Lu Xiao, as he wasn’t able to stop himself from remembering the sensation from earlier, a tingling warmth spreading through half of his body as he did so. He lowered his head, saying in a glutinous tone, “N-no, I don’t hate it…”
“Good boy.”
Lu Xiao smiled gently as he released his hold, then lifted him into his arms in a princess’ carry, taking him back to the fruit farmer’s cottage with slow steps.
“Let’s go back and get some sleep.” he told him.
Shen Ci responded with a quiet “En”, then sneaked a glance up at him.
Perhaps it was because of the moonlight, but Lu Xiao’s chiseled, handsome face was illuminated clearly, his deep eyes reflecting a soft, beautiful starlight.
Somehow, he seemed even more handsome than before.
Even though the way he was being held was the same as countless times before, Shen Ci’s heart still raced uncontrollably.
When Lu Xiao opened the door, the fruit farmer was already awake and had just put his phone down.
And Shen Ci, his face flushing with embarrassment, jumped out of Lu Xiao’s arms hurriedly. Then rubbing his nose, blurted out nonsense, “I just twisted my ankle a little.”
The fruit farmer was a little worried: “Is it serious? Do you need me to take a look?”
Shen Ci waved his hand hurriedly to refuse.
The fruit farmer didn’t to mind as he smiled good-naturedly. “Alright then, but the two of you shouldn’t worry! The village chief just contacted me. They’ll be coming up to get us in a bit.”
The three of them waited in the house for about half an hour before the sound of hurried footsteps and shouts grew closer. The fruit farmer opened the door quickly to check.
“Xiao Ci!” Shen Bie shouted as he burst into the house, then immediately saw him leaning against Lu Xiao for warmth.
He didn’t even have time to greet Lu Xiao, as his anxiety drove him to stride over quickly, then shaking the thick coat in his hands out, he draped it over Shen Ci.
“You nearly scared your big brother to death!” Shen Bie couldn’t hold back, his voice raised in agitation, the panic in his heart still not settled fully.
Staying on a mountain while it was raining heavily, and with the sky still dark—it was really too dangerous.
Shen Ci didn’t dare make a sound, however Lu Xiao’s brow furrowed slightly, clearly displeased. “Don’t scare him.”
Wei Shuo and Shao Jinhuan arrived shortly after, and after seeing that Shen Ci was in good condition, they both breathed a sigh of relief.
Shao Jinhuan crouched down to feel his foot. “Did you sprain your ankle?”
Shen Ci pulled his foot back quickly. “Ah… it’s not serious.”
“…..” Shao Jinhuan’s expression, hidden in the shadows, showed a hint of hurt. However unwilling to give up, he pressed on, “Can you still walk? I can—”
“There’s no need! I’ll carry Xiao Ci!” Wei Shuo interrupted him immediately, reaching out to help Shen Ci.
Shen Bie however frowned and blocked his hand. “I’ll do it. I used to carry him all the time when he was little—I’ve got experience.”
None of them wanted to give in, so the three of them fell into an inexplicable standoff, with sparks flying between them.
Shen Ci could only brace himself and say, “I—I didn’t twist my ankle, I was just pretending.”
“You didn’t twist your ankle? Then Little Boss here is pretty delicate. Even needing the Big Boss to carry him just to walk.” The fruit farmer had walked over at some point and casually teased after hearing this.
Shen Ci’s face immediately turned a beet red. How come he still got exposed? And who was he calling delicate?!
The three men: “…”
Their gazes all zeroed in on Lu Xiao. However, Lu Xiao remained calm and unbothered, as he stood up casually, then lifted Shen Ci into his arms again. “I’m used to it.”
Everyone & Shen Ci: “???”
Without another word, Lu Xiao carried the bewildered Shen Ci out of the house. Wei Shuo was the first to snap out of it, then he followed behind them quickly.
Although it felt like Uncle Lu had just thrown shade at them, this unexpected dog food… was just too sweet to resist!
What’s more there was no need for him to obstruct Shao Jinhuan. Uncle Lu could just deliver the final blow on his own, ensuring Xiao Ci was thoroughly protected.
Was this what they called a “dad-like boyfriend”? Wei Shuo rubbed his hands together in excitement in his heart.
However Shen Bie and Shao Jinhuan’s expressions didn’t look too good as they both followed behind silently. Shen Bie was angry, and as they walked, he couldn’t resist stomping hard on the ground, which in turn sent splashes of mud all over Shao Jinhuan’s pants.
Shao Jinhuan: “…”
The two of them nearly got into a fight at the back of the group.

After they returned to the village, Shen Ci rinsed off hurriedly, changed into his pajamas, then flopped onto the soft mattress, unable to suppress a comfortable hum.
The door creaked open, and someone walked over. Then the mattress dipped as the person sat down.
“Baby, get some sleep.”
That familiar voice made Shen Ci freeze in place.
Crap, he had completely forgotten that Lu Xiao was sharing the same room with him!
Shen Ci, who was lying face-down on the bed like a salted fish didn’t respond, so Lu Xiao reached over and turned him onto his back gently.
Shen Ci kept his eyes closed, his delicate features peaceful, as if he had already fallen asleep.
The corners of Lu Xiao’s lips hooked up helplessly as he stared at his eyelids that were trembling wildly from nervousness.
Sure enough, he shouldn’t have acted impulsively earlier. Now Xiao Ci was…. starting to avoid him.
Lowering his eyes to hide the gloom within, he leaned down and kissed Shen Ci’s forehead, then the corners of his eyes, the tip of his nose, then finally, his lips… the soft, delicate kisses fell one after another, causing Shen Ci’s face to heat up gradually, however he continued his effort to feign sleep.
Since he was “asleep”, didn’t that mean anything Lu Xiao did could be forgiven?
Lu Xiao’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he reached out, slowly caressing his soft, delicate neck, his gaze growing increasingly deep and unreadable.
His warm hand brushed over the collar of Shen Ci’s pajama top repeatedly, tracing the elegant line of his collarbone, leaving a trail of heat wherever it touched.
However after what felt like an eternity, he just sighed, then pulled Shen Ci into his arms and held him close.
He had already acted on impulse once,— he couldn’t afford to do so again, otherwise he might push the obtuse Xiao Ci even further away.
At the very least, he needed to wait until his baby gave his consent, even though that moment might be far off in the distance.
He vented his frustration by biting Shen Ci’s earlobe lightly. “Goodnight…”
The body of the person in his arms trembled noticeably.
