Chapter 35.2

Editor: Jodi

Tang three years old who was in love fell into deep confusion, remaining dazed until Fu Shen finished work and returned to the office, his phone still in his hand.

“What’s wrong?” Unable to hold back, Fu Shen caressed his head again.

He had always been more mature than his peers, and Tang Zhou couldn’t see any trace of a young boy’s naivety in him, which made him lean more towards dependence.

“Why do you like me?” Tang Zhou asked, looking down as he fiddled with his phone case, “I, I was really mean to you before.”

Fu Shen raised an eyebrow. How had his sweet porridge turned into bitter porridge so quickly?

“How were you mean to me?”

Tang Zhou listed his wrongdoings seriously: “I misunderstood you, bullied you, exploited you–“

“You’re the only one who was willing to invest.” Fu Shen interrupted him, his amber eyes reflecting the young man’s stunned expression.

“The only one.”

Tang Zhou was suddenly flooded with heartache and guilt. His biased investment wasn’t worth this much weight.

“Didn’t you hate me before?” He asked, his eyes wide, moist, and clear, looking directly at Fu Shen.

Fu Shen answered with certainty, “I didn’t hate you, not even in the slightest bit.”

It was fair to exchange labor for investment.

He had seen all kinds of people, encountered various situations, and faced many setbacks, hence Tang Zhou’s terms were of little consequence to him and more like an oasis in the desert, he was the only hope Fu Shen had.

Seeing Tang Zhou still feeling blaming himself, Fu Shen bent down and enveloped him in his arms, his gaze  calm and tolerant.

“We should go home.”

Tang Zhou turned his head. The sky outside the window was ablaze with colours, and the traffic was dense. What’s more just outside the office, it was already quiet.

“Where are the rest?”

“They left earlier.”

As Tang Zhou had driven here, Fu Shen took the initiative to take the car keys, “I’ll drive.”

“I’ll do it—”

Fu Shen suddenly leaned close to his ear and whispered, “I am willing to drive.”

Tang Zhou: “….”

They were obviously very normal words, yet when used by him they had become so ambiguous.

Sitting in the passenger seat, he stopped looking at Fu Shen, poking at his phone sulkily.

But Fu Shen didn’t intend to let him off,

“When do we leave tomorrow?”

The northern district was at least an hour and a half drive from here, so they needed to prepare early.

Tang Zhou’s suggestion of swimming before had just been a hastily thought of excuse, but now that he thought about it carefully, he felt that just swimming was a waste of the house that was in the northern district.

“Since the company is organising a group activity like a social gathering, it’s just as well that the place in the north is a villa, so it’s quite suitable.”

After all, they couldn’t just swim all day, right? A social gathering would enhance the relationship between everyone better.

Fu Shen had heard of social gatherings, but had never participated in them before. However it didn’t prevent him from listening to Tang Zhou.

“Okay, what do we need to prepare?”

“Ingredients, drinks, etc., as for other supplies, that place has them.”

“En, then after dinner, I’ll go to the supermarket.”

Tang Zhou suddenly had an idea.

“Let’s buy the stuff tonight and go there straight away.”

Fu Shen: ?

Tang Zhou blinked, “The swimming pool is just one, it’ll be crowded tomorrow.”

But tonight, it would be just the two of them.

Fu Shen’s heart skipped a beat, but afraid he was misunderstanding, forcefully suppressed his blood that was boiling and drove home steadily.

Then in the elevator, he couldn’t help but ask, “You want to swim tonight?”

Tang Zhou, who had blurted the suggestion impulsively just now was already feeling a little shy, so seeing him ask, he looked at him sideways and said coldly, “If you don’t want to then forget it.”

“It’s not like that!” Fu Shen defended himself hurriedly.

The doors of the elevator opened.

Tang Zhou let out an “oh” and stepped out quickly, his lips lifting unconsciously.

Anyways, Fu Shen was behind him, so he wouldn’t see.

And Fu Shen indeed didn’t see, as he had lowered his head to send a message.

[Fu Shen]: Liang Cheng, organize everyone to go there tomorrow.

[Pi Xiu]: Shen Ge, you aren’t going?!

[Li Fengyu]: You’re not going to work again, right?

[Liang Cheng]: ?

[Fu Shen]: It’s swimming plus a social gathering tomorrow, I need to prepare the food, so we’ll go over tonight.”

[Pi Xiu]: Just with Tang Shen?

[Li Fengyu]: A social gathering? I’m in!

[Liang Cheng]: Got it.

[Pi Xiu]: Even if it’s a social gathering, isn’t it too early to go over? Shen Ge, are you….

[Fu Shen]: What?

[Pi Xiu]: ….

[Li Fengyu]: Bursting into laughter.JPG

Pi Xiu: Woo woo, how could he dare to really ask!

Considering the rush in the evening, Fu Shen didn’t make the sweet and sour dishes and just stir-fried a few simple home-cooked dishes.

While eating, Tang Zhou’s eyes inadvertently fell on Fu Shen’s hands.

He had held those hands before. They weren’t delicate and had long finger bones, but the joints were somewhat large, and the palms were calloused.

A bit rough.

Tang Zhou: You must have had a hard life before, right?

Fu Shen looked up, his chopsticks freezing. Why was his little sweet porridge imagining things again?

“No, I didn’t have a hard life.”

He had seen many people who suffered more than him and so didn’t think his life was that hard.

He had never complained about fate. He just wanted to take control of his own destiny.

Seeing Tang Zhou still staring at his hands, he couldn’t help but smile: “I learned hunting with my grandfather as a child, it was the bow that made these.”

“Hunting?” Tang Zhou’s eyes widened slightly. He had only seen it on TV.

Fu Shen nodded, “There are a lot of mountains where I come from, and my grandfather often took me to the mountains to hunt things like wild rabbits.”

It sounded fun, but Tang Zhou tasted a bit of sorrow in it.

He asked, “Can you still hunt in the mountains now?”

“Catching some wild rabbits and pheasants is still possible.” Fu Shen smiled, “I’ll take you to see sometime.”

“Okay.” Tang Zhou agreed without hesitation.

Fu Shen put his fist on his lips to hide his smile.

There was a shopping mall near the villa in the northern district, so Tang Zhou and Fu Shen drove there, picked up ingredients on the way, then went to the villa.

The Chinese garden-style villa, away from the bustling city and noise, had its own unique charm, elegant and serene.

Fu Shen put the ingredients into the fridge and turned to look for Tang Zhou.

And walking through the quaint corridor, he saw a pool of clear water at the end of it.

On the surface of the clear water, a shining white figure was swimming continuously, stirring up a series of elegant and pure splashes.

Tang Zhou swam to the other side, then back again.

The distant lights reflected on the surface of the water, making it sparkle like stars.

The handsome young man suddenly burst out of the water, his arms resting on the edge of the pool, and his gaze meeting Fu Shen’s on the corridor, he suddenly smiled, like a mysterious siren from the sea, easily enchanting.

Fu Shen’s heart pounded fiercely, his legs moving forward uncontrollably, step by step as he approached the enticing water sprite.

His mind blank, his heart and eyes filled only with the person in front of him.

And stopping in front of Tang Zhou, he crouched down slowly.

The young man’s eyes were bright, like a glowing gem, causing Fu Shen to reach out subconsciously, wanting to touch them.

Tang Zhou scooped up a handful of water and unexpectedly splashed it onto his face.

And as the droplets flowed down his cheeks, he heard Tang Zhou ask vaguely,

“Are you coming down to play?”
