Chapter 29.2

Editor: Jodi

Ever since he got hooked on the game, Tang Zhou would log in and play whenever he had free time. And as he played more, he gained a deeper understanding of the game.

Rumors started circulating in the gaming world that F God often accompanied a newbie named Sweet Porridge, helping them kill monsters and level up with great care.

Pi Xiu and the others were discussing this matter.

“Who is this Sweet Porridge? When did Shen Ge meet them?” Pi Xiu frowned. “He hasn’t told us anything. Have you ever seen him protect someone like this?”

Li Fengyu replied, “I haven’t.”

Liang Cheng rubbed his eyes. He had a clue, but he wasn’t sure.

“I know.” A ghostly voice suddenly sounded from behind, startling Pi Xiu.

He turned around to see Mi Shu standing there with a wooden expression, unmoving.

“Great god Mi, can’t you make some noise when you walk!”

They had been living with Mi Shu for quite some time, but they still couldn’t get used to his ghostly way of moving.

Li Fengyu was curious: “You said you know who Sweet Porridge is?”

Mi Shu nodded and pointed upward with his index finger.

“You mean Senior Tang.” Liang Cheng nodded, “That’s a possibility, but how do you know?”

Li Fengyu was skeptical, “It can’t be. How could Tang Shen come up with such a cute name?”

“Ah, it’s normal. Maybe Tang Shen is a sweetie on the inside.” Pi Xiu indicated that there was nothing wrong with it. He and Liang Cheng were on the same page, wanting to figure out how Mi Shu knew.

Mi Shu, however, ignored all of them and slowly returned to his room, closing the door.

Pi Xiu pouted, “Unfair! Shen Ge told great god Mi, but not us!”

“It might not even be Shen Ge who told him.” Liang Cheng had a hunch that Fu Shen probably didn’t want anyone to know that Tang Shen was Sweet Porridge.

Pi Xiu’s eyes twinkled mischievously as he picked up his phone and started sending messages.

[Pi Xiu]: Tang Shen, Tang Shen, you’re playing games without telling us. If you need anything, just come find me! You’ve played my character before, you should know my nickname, right? Want to add me as a friend?

Tang Zhou: I didn’t want to disturb you guys. When I have time to log in, I’ll add you as a friend.

[Pi Xiu]: Hahaha, but with Shen Ge around, you probably won’t need us anyway.

Tang Zhou didn’t reply further. Pi Xiu showed the chat records to the other two. “Shen Ge is indeed playing with Tang Shen.”

“Powerful, having to study and work at the same time, Shen Ge still has time to go online.” Li Fengyu sighed.

Fu Shen had indeed been incredibly busy lately, but thankfully, his foot had healed, so he had no mobility issues.

Tang Zhou was in a similar situation. After his graduation defense, he had more time to focus on his career.

The night of his grandfather’s birthday banquet had given him a lot to think about. From childhood, he had been bound by the rules and regulations set by his grandfather, and the idea of loyalty to the Tang family and his grandfather had been ingrained in him, making him constantly consider the family’s interests.

However doing what was best for the Tang family didn’t necessarily mean following the same path all the time. Rebelling against his grandfather didn’t have to mean leaving the Tang family entirely.

To repay his grandfather for his upbringing, if the Tang family ever faced trouble in the future, he wouldn’t turn a blind eye. However he wouldn’t sacrifice himself like he had in his dream.

Anything, when in his own hands, wouldn’t lead to unexpected complications.

Just as he had finished selling off some stocks, a call came in.

He answered it.

The person on the other end of the call spoke cautiously, “President Tang, I’ve reserved a table at Lotus Leaf Pavilion. Do you have time tonight?”

“Okay, I’ll be there at six.”

The other person exchanged pleasantries enthusiastically before hanging up happily.

Tang Zhou thought for a moment and sent a message to Fu Shen.

Tang Zhou: I’m going out for a business meeting tonight, so I won’t be home for dinner.

After sending the message, he realized that Fu Shen was currently taking final exams and might not see it until after the exams were over.

However Fu Shen replied almost instantly: [Not bringing your assistant along?]

Tang Zhou: Aren’t you taking your exams?

[Fu Shen]: Tang Shen has never handed in his exam papers early?

[Fu Shen]: I can handle my alcohol pretty well. President Tang, reconsider?

Tang Zhou: I’ll pick you up from school.

While Tang Zhou was confident in his ability to conduct business without drinking, having someone accompany him made him feel much more at ease.

[Fu Shen]: I’m already home.

The door was opened from the outside, and Tang Zhou looked toward the entrance.

A young man in a short-sleeved T-shirt and casual pants exuded a student vibe from head to toe.

Tang Zhou: “Change into a different outfit.”

“Okay.”

Fu Shen went back to his room and swapped the short-sleeved shirt for a dress shirt and exchanged the casual pants for black dress trousers. His demeanor completely transformed.

From a student who had just finished an exam, he immediately turned into a handsome and sophisticated business elite.

Tang Zhou was momentarily disoriented, thinking it was President Fu standing in front of him.

He snapped back to reality and asked, “Where’s the tie?”

“It’s ruined.” Fu Shen said with an innocent look on his face.

Tang Zhou didn’t probe further and went to his room to pick out a dark blue tie with subtle patterns that shimmered with changing light.

Fu Shen took it solemnly and tried to tie it around his neck, but he fumbled clumsily, going around several times without success.

“You’re so skilled at playing games, but tying a tie is this difficult?” Tang Zhou really couldn’t stand watching, so he walked over, raised his hands, and said, “Give it to me.”

Fu Shen handed it over obediently. His long and thick eyelashes drooped slightly, and his eyes settled on Tang Zhou’s prominent nose. He didn’t even register that Tang Zhou was calling him.

Frowning, Tang Zhou tugged on his tie, “Learn from me.”

“Oh.”

Then Fu Shen looked at the hands dancing in front of his chest.

Long and slender like bamboo, fair as jade, they were perfectly proportioned.

As he saw those hands about to leave after completing their task, Fu Shen subconsciously captured them.

Tang Zhou was scalded by the warmth of his palm, his heart skipping a beat. “What are you doing!”

“Senior, I didn’t quite get it earlier. Can you teach me again?”

Fu Shen’s amber eyes were deep as a still pool, firmly ensnaring Tang Zhou’s focus.

Tang Zhou remained motionless, seemingly forgetting to resist, like a lamb awaiting the alpha wolf to devour him.

The pressure in Fu Shen’s grip suddenly increased, causing him to lower slightly, until their breaths intermingled.

This crossed a boundary of comfort for Tang Zhou.

He snapped back to reality abruptly and forcefully broke free from Fu Shen’s hold, taking a step back.

“I’ll only teach it once. If you don’t get it, find a tutorial online.”

Fu Shen concealed his disappointment and nodded with a smile.

Tang Zhou turned his head away.

“And don’t call me ‘senior’ outside.”

Fu Shen responded obediently.

“Understood, President Tang.”
