Chapter 26.1

Editor: Jodi

The basketball game ended amidst the cheers of the Jiang University students.

But Tang Zhou didn’t feel like checking the score and left the basketball arena directly.

Qiao Yuan followed closely.

On the way, they met a group from the basketball club and among them, Fu Shen was being supported by his teammates, hopping forward on one foot.

Lu Ye was with them, his face somewhat grim.

Even though he knew that the Gong University player didn’t mean it, he still couldn’t help but feel upset.

Moreover Fu Shen was someone he had insisted on bringing in, so if something happened, he would have to take responsibility.

Lost in thought, his teammates suddenly stopped.

He looked up and saw Tang Zhou’s expressionless face and Qiao Yuan behind him, looking concerned.

“Why did you come?” He asked.

The basketball club members knew Tang Zhou, so they initially thought he was here for Lu Ye, but Tang Zhou just glanced at Lu Ye and walked up to Fu Shen. “Go to the hospital for an X-ray, don’t go to the school clinic.”

The collision on the court wasn’t light. Fu Shen’s left foot had been tripped by the opponent, spraining it slightly; it had already swollen like a bun, and even the slightest touch was agonizing.

Fu Shen was balancing on one foot, drenched in sweat from the workout, a droplet trickling down his temple and landing on his chest. His lips had turned pale because of the pain and he looked fragile and disheveled.

But he smiled as he looked at Tang Zhou, “Okay.”

Tang Zhou said decisively, “Lu Ye, you stay with them. I’ll take Fu Shen to the hospital.”

Pi Xiu and the others arrived just in time and hearing this, Pi Xiu said immediately, “Tang Shen, I’ll go with you!”

Li Fengyu glanced at Fu Shen’s ankle and hissed, “Just looking at it hurts.”

Liang Cheng said calmly, “I’ll go back to fetch Fu Shen’s ID, then head to the hospital.”

Registering at the hospital definitely required an ID, and Tang Zhou had been too concerned earlier to think about this.

“On the way, let’s head back to the residential area first, then go to the hospital.”

Lu Ye couldn’t get a word in the whole time then could only watch as they walked away.

Tang Zhou had driven there, so they reached the hospital quickly.

After the X-ray, there were no bone issues, just a twisted tendon that would heal with some rest.

Even so, it would affect Fu Shen’s daily life and work greatly.

Liang Cheng said, seemingly casually, “You’ll have difficulties for a while, so how about moving up to our place? We can take care of you together.”

“Yes, yes.” Pi Xiu nodded vigorously, “Shen Ge, just move in with us, and if you need anything, just tell us so you can rest assured and recover.”

Li Fengyu nodded, “It’s just a bit inconvenient to go to the company. How about we pool our money to buy an electric scooter? It can be used for classes and work, and we can give Fu Shen a ride.”

“Great idea!” Pi Xiu gave a thumbs up and asked Fu Shen, “Shen Ge, what do you think?”

They were so enthusiastic and considerate that Fu Shen felt a warmth in his heart and was about to agree,

When Tang Zhou’s cool voice sounded, “I’ll drive him.”

Fu Shen froze slightly, “Aren’t you… planning to move out?”

He asked cautiously, but with a hidden sense of excitement.

Tang Zhou who was driving didn’t catch his tone, replying, “Your injury is my responsibility.”

If it wasn’t for him convincing Fu Shen on Lu Ye’s behalf, Fu Shen wouldn’t have gotten hurt.

A smile appeared on Fu Shen’s face, “It was my own carelessness–“

“I have eyes.” Tang Zhou stopped at a red light then looked back seriously, “They’re right. It’s indeed inconvenient for you to come and go like this.”

A slight curve appeared on Fu Shen’s lips, “En.”

He had no reason to refuse, and he didn’t want to.

He even felt grateful for that player’s mistake.

Back at their residence, Lu Ye had already taken care of school matters and had arrived with Qiao Yuan.

Seeing Fu Shen, his expression turned serious.

“That last shot was impressive, thank you.” He seemed a bit awkward, coughing lightly, “I’ll arrange for a wheelchair to be brought over later.”

Fu Shen: “…”

It’s just a sprained ankle, not a disability, really, it’s not that serious.

He was about to refuse when Tang Zhou beat him to it, “Since the basketball game is over, pay more attention to the movie.”

Lu Ye nodded, “No worries.”

“Is there anything else?” Tang Zhou looked at him, clearly hurrying him along.

Lu Ye: “…”

Alright, he was in the wrong, he would leave.

Just as he and Qiao Yuan left, the wheelchair was delivered, and sitting in it was much more convenient for Fu Shen than hopping on one foot.

Pi Xiu patted his shoulder, “What do you feel like eating tonight? I can bring something back from the university cafeteria.”

Tang Zhou: “No need, I’ve ordered takeout.”

“…”

Tang Shen is mighty and imposing!

“Just a minor injury, I’m fine. You guys can head back.” Fu Shen said helplessly.

He’d been injured before, so spraining his ankle was nothing major.

People who didn’t know might think he couldn’t take care of himself anymore.

Liang Cheng looked at Tang Zhou, “Then we will trouble Senior Tang with Shen Ge.”

Tang Zhou had been serious-faced since school, so hearing this, he only nodded.

Once everyone left, it was left with only him and Fu Shen in the living room.

Fu Shen was still wearing the sweat-drenched basketball jersey, but he didn’t even bother changing, saying, “I can manage on my own. You don’t need to be held back by me–“

“It won’t hold me back.” Tang Zhou interrupted him, “Do you need to take a shower? I’ll get you some clothes.”

He motioned for Fu Shen to the guest room.

“Tang Zhou, are you upset?”

The tall Fu Shen who was squeezed into the wheelchair strained his neck to look back, trying to see Tang Zhou’s face, and it looked a little awkward.

Tang Zhou footsteps paused slightly, “No.”

He pushed Fu Shen into the room.
