Chapter 38.2

Editor: Jodi

After a quick wash, Fu Shen went to the kitchen, then he noticed a small tail behind him. He smiled, “Wait outside.

Tang Zhou: “I want to learn.”

“Learn what?”

How to cook.”

“No.”

“I want to—”

Tang Zhou’s eyes widened, then he covered his forehead, the tips of his ears flushing red, “What are you doing?”

His voice was soft and glutinous, as if it had been drizzled with honey.

Fu Shen leaned closer, “Be good and go outside, or I’ll kiss you again.”

If it wasn’t that he was afraid of scaring Tang Zhou, he would have pressed him against the door and kissed him thoroughly long ago.

Fu Shen’s surprise move just now did startle Tang Zhou, but instead of scaring him, it sparked a strange thought in him.

He tilted his face, “Then kiss again.”

Fu Shen’s smile vanished abruptly, his eyes deep like the sea yet emitting a light from its depths, growing brighter and hotter, suddenly igniting the air in the kitchen.

Tang Zhou looked calm on the surface, but his heart was racing.

He opened his eyes wide and watched as Fu Shen got closer and closer, so close that he could almost smell the fresh scent of toothpaste from his mouthwash.

Then a kiss landed on his nose gently, as light as a feather, unbelievably tender.

Tang Zhou felt as though he was being placed on soft velvet that was still even giving out pink bubbles.

Then he heard Fu Shen say in restraint, “Baby, be good, I have to cook.”

They were obviously dotingly indulgent words, but they made Tang Zhou’s heart inexplicably sour.

No one had ever called him that and no one had ever coaxed him this way before. When he was a child, no one treated him like he was a child, but now that he was no longer a child, there was someone who was holding him in the palm of his hands, not letting him suffer in the slightest.

How could he be so good?

Tang Zhou suddenly hugged him, wrapping his arms around his waist tightly as he nuzzled against Fu Shen’s neck, whispering with his eyes closed, “What if I’m not good?”

“Then it must be that I did something wrong.” Fu Shen stroked his soft hair, planting a kiss on top of his head as he asked teasingly, “So, what did I do wrong that made you unwilling to leave the kitchen?”

Tang Zhou: “What you did wrong is that you’re too good, too good that I can’t bear to leave you.”

The education he had received since he was small had never permitted him to say such revealing words.

Yet the words just slipped out of his mouth as he was carried by his emotions.

He admitted it, he just wanted to be with Fu Shen.

Fu Shen felt a sweetness flood his heart, so intense that his hands trembled.

And for the first time, he realized that it turns out that his sweet porridge could also be sticky, that he could stay in his arms so obediently and stickily, bringing him immense satisfaction.

The sudden sound of a phone ringing that traveled from the living room to the kitchen snapped them out of their sweetness.

Tang Zhou left his arms, “I’ll get it.”

The sound of slippers moved away, and Fu Shen retracted his gaze, trying to calm the jubilation inside him as he thought over the menu for the evening.

Tang Zhou answered the call. It was Lu Ye who was calling.

“Are you at home?”

“No, I’m over at the North District, what’s wrong?” He hadn’t yet pulled away from the mood of the moment, so his voice carried a hint of a smile.

And Lu Ye heard it, “You’ve moved to the North District? You sound in good spirits.”

“I haven’t moved. Just having a party with everyone today.”

“A party?!” Lu Ye was obviously shocked, “You’re actually participating in such group activities? Tang Zhou, you’ve really changed a lot.”

“Don’t talk about me.” Tang Zhou was now in a good mood, so he was very patient, “What’s the matter?”

Lu Ye told him, “Tang Tianyang is getting engaged. Did you know?”

Tang Zhou raised an eyebrow, unconcerned, “I haven’t heard yet. To who?”

Now, nothing about the Tang family could stir any emotion in him.

“Du Ruoyu.”

This answer was within Tang Zhou’s expectations, it was just that he didn’t expect that even after Tang Tianyang’s reputation as a playboy had already spread, Du Ruoyu would still accept him.

Could it be that love was really blind?

But if Tang Zhou put himself in the situation, just the thought of Fu Shen with someone else…. made his skin crawl, feeling disgusted as if he had swallowed.

Du Ruoyu had been pampered by her family as she grew up, so it was impossible that she didn’t have dignity and pride. So maybe she liked Tang Tianyang. But how strong could a young person’s love be?

After the exposure of those photos of Tang Tianyang, the fact that Du Ruoyu and her family were still willing to get engaged to him made Tang Zhou suspicious.

Tang Tianyang could be said to be trying to salvage his reputation and increase his leverage to seize power through the engagement, but what about the Du family?

There were countless young men who were better than Tang Tianyang, so what exactly was the Du family after?

A thought suddenly struck Tang Zhou, becoming clearer the more he thought about it.

Du Ruoyu might really be stupid, but Old Master Du definitely wasn’t stupid. If there was no benefit, why would he let his only granddaughter marry a scumbag?

It meant that there was a greater interest in front of him —The Tang family.

It all made sense now.

However none of this had anything to do with him.

In the dream, he had opposed Tang Zhen, but now, without his ‘interference’, he wondered if Tang Zhen and his son would perform better than they had done in his dream.

“Tang Zhou! Are you listening?” Lu Ye raised his voice after he didn’t get a response from him.

And Tang Zhou, his ears hurting, moved the phone away a little and put it on speaker, “I understand.”

“What do you understand?!” Lu Ye sighed, “Once Tang Tianyang marries into the Du family, you’ll be even more marginalized.”

Lu Ye’s concern comforted Tang Zhou a little, but he smiled, “I never intended to fight for the Tang family, so you don’t have to worry.”

“Even though it’s this way, I still feel it’s unfair to you.” Emotionally, Lu Ye definitely favored his long time friend.

Tang Zhou changed the subject, “How’s the movie going?”

“It’s going well. I plan to release it during the Spring Festival.”

“A Spring Festival release sounds good.” Tang Zhou said sincerely.

He remembered from his dream that the movie was released during the Spring Festival. At that time, he had already been extremely disappointed with the Tang family and didn’t want to face the old man, so he didn’t go home for the festival.

When he received the invitation from President Fu, he was surprised but didn’t consider refusing.

It was like a lonely traveler finding a companion.

The two lonely individuals watched the movie together, and although it was supposed to be funny, neither of them laughed.

Tang Zhou suddenly thought of something, then said goodbye to Lu Ye hurriedly and hung up.

Then he went to the kitchen, his eyes sparkling brilliantly, like the brightest star in the night sky.

“Fu Shen, let’s go watch a movie!”
