Chapter 30.2

Once they left, two people came out from around the corner.

“Tang Zhou is here for business?” Tang Tianyang nodded towards Zhang Si Lin’s departing figure. “Dad, who are they?”

Tang Zhen sneered, “If I’m not mistaken, that’s Zhang Si Lin from Hua Yue.”

“Hua Yue?” Tang Tianyang was puzzled. “Isn’t he a big shot in our industry? Why would Tang Zhou want to deal with him? Is he trying to compete with our family?”

Tang Zhen sneered, “What big shot? Hua Yue is just riding on its past glory for a few years. In recent years, it’s been declining, and how could it ever compare to our family? It’s practically bankrupt.”

“Bankrupt?” Tang Tianyang looked even more puzzled. “If they’re bankrupt, then why is Tang Zhou getting involved with Zhang Si Lin?”

Tang Zhen shrugged, “Who knows.” He felt that Tang Zhou was becoming increasingly unpredictable. Not only did he willingly give up his position as the heir, he was now doing business with someone on the brink of collapse. Was he not worried about throwing money down the drain?

“I’ll look into it.” Tang Tianyang felt that something was off.

Tang Zhou didn’t drink, so he was the one who drove them back. At a traffic light intersection, he stepped on the brakes and brought the car to a stop.

“Are you okay?” He looked at Fu Shen who was resting with his eyes closed in the passenger seat.

Fu Shen’s head was tilted, half of his face concealed in the shadows, and the excellent  bridge of his nose added an irreplaceable elegance to his profile.

Hearing Tang Zhou’s voice, he opened his eyes, and his amber-colored gaze had a faint mist, clearly showing signs that he was tipsy.

“I’m fine.”

“Oh.”

As the traffic light turned green, Tang Zhou lifted his foot off the brake and focused on observing the road ahead. He didn’t notice the subtle smile on Fu Shen’s lips.

The June breeze carried with it a hint of dryness. Tang Zhou drove back to the residential area then nudged Fu Shen: “We’re home.”

Fu Shen opened his eyes, his smile gentle as he unfastened his seatbelt, opened the car door, and stepped out.

He looked as though he hadn’t had a drop of alcohol.

Tang Zhou had just reached his side when he saw Fu Shen suddenly stumble. He quickly reached out to support him.

Fu Shen leaned against him, his face near Tang Zhou’s ear, and his breath carried the scent of alcohol, making Tang Zhou feel slightly intoxicated.

Suddenly, he remembered the time he had been secretly filmed in the dream. Fu Shen had been drunk and had leaned on him for support, so their faces were very close, which Tang Tianyang took a picture of as evidence of them “kissing”.

The way they were standing now was similar to that position.

He pulled away without the expression on his face changing.

It wasn’t that Tang Zhou was afraid of being hacked again, it was just that he felt a little uncomfortable.

Fu Shen saw every subtle move he made and as he saw Tang Zhou’s hand reach out to help him, his lips tightened and he moved his hand away from Tang Zhou’s shoulder.

Tang Zhou was concerned that Fu Shen might stumble, so he extended his hand to assist.

“No need, I can walk on my own.” Fu Shen said. He stood upright, making a conscious effort to clear his slightly foggy head, and took each step steadily.

Tang Zhou noticed the sudden change in Fu Shen’s mood and couldn’t help but feel puzzled.

They entered the elevator, standing on opposite sides with a considerable distance between them, leaving enough room for several more people in the middle.

Tang Zhou swore he was just standing naturally and hadn’t intentionally created more distance.

He observed Fu Shen’s expression carefully, but Fu Shen was looking down, and his emotions were unreadable.

Returning home in silence, Fu Shen said calmly, “I’m going to my room.”

Tang Zhou held his wrist and asked, “Are you angry?”

“Why would I be?” Fu Shen smiled, “I’m not angry with you.”

He was only angry with himself.

Tang Zhou frowned, “Then why are you upset?”

Fu Shen sighed, “I’m not upset.”

He simply thought that the so-called “love strategy” was rubbish.

“But you just sighed .” It was as if Tang Zhou had been possessed by Sherlock Holmes,, “You didn’t use to sigh like this.”

“I just find the weather a bit stuffy.”

Tang Zhou’s eyebrows furrowed even more, “Do you think I’m easy to lie to?”

With his handsome appearance and that slightly wrinkled brow, Tang Zhou looked genuinely pitiful. Fu Shen subconsciously wanted to smooth the crease between his eyebrows.

And normally, he would have restrained himself, but because he was under the influence of alcohol, his right hand couldn’t help but lift up, then touch Tang Zhou’s brow gently.

Tang Zhou’s brow was quite sensitive, so as soon as something came just near it, it would send signals to retreat.

He tilted his head back slightly, “What are you doing?”

Fu Shen sighed again, took a few steps back, and said, “I’m sorry.”

“Is it because you’ve had too much to drink?” Tang Zhou could only think of this as the reason. “You don’t need to drink so much in the future. You don’t have to drink at all.”

Tonight, he had indeed done it to save face for Zhang Si Lin. After all, selling his hard work was not an easy decision for anyone.

Fu Shen looked at him. “Okay, I understand.”

After a pause of a few seconds, he asked, “My foot is better now. When is Senior planning to move out?”

Ever since Fu Shen injured his foot, Tang Zhou hadn’t considered moving out. However now that the issue was brought up, he found himself at a loss for how to respond.

Silence spread between them.

Then Tang Zhou said stiffly, “Deep Blue has just started, and I still have matters to handle at Hua Yue. I won’t be moving out for now.”

“Ah.” Fu Shen made an unclear sound, but the light in his eyes seemed to brighten.

The weight that had been pressing on him seemed to disappear in an instant.

Smiling, he asked, “What day is the graduation ceremony?”

“Next Friday.”

“Alright.” Fu Shen loosened his tie casually. “I’m going to take a shower.”

The post laziness that came after drinking made his every move exude indescribable charm.

Tang Zhou’s heart skipped a beat, and he blurted out, “The tie really suits you, so I’m giving it to you.”

Fu Shen was momentarily surprised, then his hand holding the tie tightened. He asked in a hoarse voice, “Giving it to me?”

Tang Zhou tried to clarify hurriedly, “I haven’t used this one, so it’s not old.”

“I prefer the old ones.”

Fu Shen blurted out his true thoughts, then immediately, he felt that it wasn’t quite appropriate.

But Tang Zhou mumbled, “It seems you’re really drunk.”

Fu Shen swallowed the words he had just been about to use to explain in time.

En, he was indeed drunk.
