Chapter 29.1

Editor: Jodi

In the study, two chairs were placed side by side.

On the laptop screen, there was a prompt box for creating a character.

Fu Shen thought about it for a moment and turned to ask Tang Zhou, “Would you like to play a female character?”

“Why?” Tang Zhou felt like he was about to step into a pit.

Fu Shen replied half-seriously, half-playfully, “There’s a mission for couples in the game, and the rewards are generous. If you play a female character, we can do it together.”

“Can’t two male characters do it?”

“No.”

Tang Zhou said, “Oh, can I make a suggestion?”

“Go ahead.”

“What you’re making is a game set in an interstellar theme for the international market. On this point, you might need to make some changes. Many countries and regions have already legalized same-sex marriage, so if same-sex characters can’t form pairs, wouldn’t that be a missed opportunity?”

Fu Shen held his forehead, “But the game is going to be released domestically.”

Tang Zhou suggested in a different way, “It doesn’t have to be in the name of marriage. You can set up dual-player missions where male-female, male-male, and female-female pairs can become the closest partners through a bonding system. Make subtle adjustments in the details, and there can be differences in how dual-player missions of these three modes are handled.”

He didn’t understand the game, and his suggestions were quite basic, but Fu Shen found his earnest planning look rather attractive.

“Hmm, all the things you mentioned can be considered.” Fu Shen moved the mouse, “Let’s go with a male character.”

With a male character selected, the next step was to choose a game nickname.

Tang Zhou tried entering “TZ”, but it was already taken.

He then attempted “TONG”, but with the same result.

After several unsuccessful attempts, he gave up and entered “Sweet Porridge”, which surprisingly got accepted!

“…”

Fu Shen couldn’t help but laugh, but quickly restrained himself when met with Tang Zhou’s death glare.

“What profession do you want to play?”

Tang Zhou looked confused, “What options are there?”

Fu Shen explained patiently, talking until his mouth went dry. Seeing this, Tang Zhou poured him a glass of water.

“I want a more relaxed profession.” Tang Zhou felt that the real world was already hectic enough, so a peaceful gaming world sounded good.

Fu Shen thought for a moment, “Then you can choose the ‘Life Player’ mode. You can do forging, gathering, and sewing.”

Tang Zhou thought it sounded great and chose the profession of a healer, to spend his days gathering herbs.

At the beginning, he was very inexperienced in controlling his character, but Fu Shen guided him patiently. Then gradually, he became more proficient, and he found himself addicted to the game.

When he reached level nine, Fu Shen looked at the time and reminded him, “It’s quite late, how about continuing tomorrow?”

Tang Zhou pursed his lips, clearly wanting to keep playing.

Fu Shen laughed helplessly, “I’ll head back to my room then.”

Back in his room, he logged into his own game account.

He had been playing with this account for several years and had become a legend in the gaming world. After starting university and working, he rarely appeared in front of other players.

As soon as he logged in, the player forums came alive.

[D*mn, I just saw F God!]

[Where? Where? Please share the coordinates!]

[It’s so late; it turns out even F God is also a night owl, ha ha ha!]

[Who is F God? Is he really good?]

[Upstairs, you can check out the posts of this FS, the great god!]

[When F God was ruling the gaming world, upstairs probably didn’t even know where he was playing with mud.]

[Let’s keep our words civil, no need for attacks. Let’s maintain harmony in the forum, starting with me.]

It was already the early hours of the morning, and night owls were a minority, so the forum wasn’t really heating up despite the chatter.

Fu Shen was always a free spirit and didn’t pay much attention to the forum.

He entered “Sweet Porridge” and sent a friend request.

Just as Tang Zhou had finished dealing with a wave of monsters in the wilderness and was busy collecting herbs, a notification popped up.

[FS has requested to add you as a friend. Do you accept?]

FS? Fu Shen?

He pressed “accept”.

[FS]: Stay where you are, don’t move. Wait for me.

The tone was different from their usual interactions, a bit authoritative, reminding Tang Zhou of the Fu Shen in his dreams who was unwavering in his decisions.

The little healer stayed put obediently, calmly gathering herbs.

No matter the world, the strong were always in charge.

Tang Zhou didn’t know how skilled Fu Shen was in gaming, but he was definitely much better than he was.

What was there to not like about having a big thigh to hold?

Just as Tang Zhou was thinking about latching onto the big thigh, the big thigh in a red and black robe descended from the sky, his crimson hairband fluttering in the wind, exuding an overbearing aura.

This made Tang Zhou, the little healer, seem even more fragile and easily approachable in comparison.

“Let’s go, I’ll take you to level up.”

Tang Zhou thought to himself, “I can level up on my own.”

But quickly, he realized he was wrong.

The feeling of being power-levelled by a pro was truly different. Each time he blinked, the monsters in front of him were already reduced to dust.

Even as a novice, he could tell that this was a top level expert.

It took much less time than he would have spent leveling up on his own.

[FS]: Level ten, go to bed.

But he still wanted to play.

[FS]: Don’t stay up late, be good.

Tang Zhou pursed his lips. Even though Fu Shen was using a tone that was used to coax a child, he didn’t feel angry. Instead, he felt warm inside.

Only when he saw Tang Zhou’s profile picture turn gray did Fu Shen log off and shut down his laptop, a smile playing on his lips.

The little healer was really obedient.
