Chapter 43.1

Editor: Jodi

After getting what he wanted, Tang Zhou slept especially soundly and woke up feeling refreshed in the morning.

He reached out to the side, but there wasn’t anyone there.

However just as he was about to get up, he heard footsteps outside the bedroom and quickly closed his eyes, pretending to still be asleep.

Then the door opened gently and the sound of shoes rubbing against the floorboards transmitted through the bed. Tang Zhou clearly sensed someone approaching the bedside.

Fu Shen stopped two steps away, and seeing Tang Zhou’s eyelids twitch slightly, he couldn’t help but stifle a laugh. Then he took two steps forward and bent down to whisper in his ear.

“Baby, it’s time to get up.”

Tang Zhou turned over, his back facing him.

Fu Shen chuckled, “President Tang, if you’re late for work, people will laugh at you.”

Tang Zhou turned back lazily, his eyes half-open, as he hummed, “I don’t want to get up.”

Last night had been too comfortable, and he longed for that feeling.

After all, he was no longer the heir of the Tang family and didn’t need to maintain a noble and cold demeanor.

So why not be a lazy cat who could act spoiled in front of his lover?

“No.” Fu Shen said seriously, “You’re now the breadwinner. If you don’t go to work, our family will be in even more trouble.”

Tang Zhou: “…”

Drama king!

He got up reluctantly, ate breakfast, changed into a suit, and was about to do his tie when a hand reached over.

Tang Zhou raised an eyebrow, “You’ve practiced?”

Fu Shen: “En.”

He was half a head taller than Tang Zhou, and with his eyelashes lowered slightly, his hands deftly tied a perfect knot. Then he raised his eyes to meet Tang Zhou’s gaze.

Tang Zhou commented seriously, “The speed and completion are both good.”

“Is there a reward?” Fu Shen asked with a smile.

Tang Zhou looked at him, “Aren’t you going to school? I’ll drive you.”

Fu Shen shook his head, “It’s close, so I’ll just ride my bike.”

“Then I’m off to work.” Tang Zhou ended the topic decisively.

Of course he knew perfectly well what reward Fu Shen wanted, but the proud Tang Shen thought to himself, since you didn’t agree to sleep with me before, I won’t agree now!

However Fu Shen grabbed his hand and pinned him against the wall at the entrance, the look in his eyes deep, “Give me a kiss.”

Tang Zhou glared at him. You’ve got a taste for it now, haven’t you?

He leaned in, pecked Fu Shen’s cheek, then moved to push him away, but was caught by the neck, then he felt a warmth on his lips.

A warmth which lingered for five minutes before Fu Shen let go reluctantly, his gaze falling on Tang Zhou’s reddened lips, burning hot.

Tang Zhou snorted softly, wasn’t it supposed to be platonic?

And seeing that he wasn’t upset, Fu Shen was relieved.

Perhaps Tang Zhou had only mentioned platonic in passing, or maybe he was just a little afraid of such things, rather than him really wanting a platonic relationship.

He just needed to take it step by step, and Tang Zhou should be able to accept it gradually.

Their relationship had progressed, so Tang Zhou went to work in a good mood, only to have Zhang Si Lin knock anxiously on his office door, saying, “President Tang, Ying Teng, who had previously intended to cooperate with us, has backed out.”

Tang Zhou remained calm, “I see.”

Zhang Si Lin: “…Weren’t you always hoping this project would go through?”

Tang Zhou smiled faintly, “Why did Ying Teng back out?”

Zhang Si Lin replied uncomfortably, “They seem to have connections with the Tang family.”

Tang Zhou wanted to say, be confident and drop the ‘seem’, but he held back.

“There are other companies besides Ying Teng.” Tang Zhou said nonchalantly, looking out the window. “Manager Zhang, go talk to Ya Qi’s representative.”

Zhang Si Lin was stunned, “Ya Qi?”

If he remembered correctly, Ya Qi was a newcomer and couldn’t compare to the established Ying Teng.

“En, give it a try.” Tang Zhou instructed, not wanting to say more.

What else could Zhang Si Lin do? He could only follow orders.

He didn’t know that Ying Teng’s fickleness was a trap that had been set by Tang Zhou.

Tang Tianyang, now supported by Old master Tang, naturally wanted to make achievements and suppress Tang Zhou.

The Tang family and Hua Yue had similar business scopes, and their cooperating enterprises were also roughly the same.

So Ying Teng naturally became a target for both families.

Tang Zhou had initially approached Ying Teng for cooperation and deliberately let the news reach Tang Tianyang. And hearing this, Tang Tianyang naturally didn’t want Hua Yue to succeed and so did everything possible to secure Ying Teng.

And compared to the “struggling” Hua Yue, Ying Teng naturally leaned towards the “flourishing” Tang family.

However this was all within Tang Zhou’s expectations.

Tang Tianyang only knew Ying Teng was a noble in the industry but didn’t know that this noble had long since fallen. Ying Teng was in constant turmoil internally, and the new leader was not a wise captain.

In his dream, Tang Zhou had never considered cooperating with Ying Teng. And now, knowing Ying Teng’s impending demise only made him less likely to bet on them.

He had simply sent a message to Tang Tianyang— whether Tang Tianyang took the bait was up to him.

And as it turned out, facts proved that Tang Tianyang was eager to prove himself and had a clear desire to step on Tang Zhou.

For him, taking Ying Teng not only aimed to further the Tang family’s development but also to see Tang Zhou’s downfall.

So even if bystanders saw through his intentions, they wouldn’t think him petty.

Including Tang Zhi Hua, who saw only the results.

Tang Tianyang’s ability to snatch Ying Teng from Tang Zhou was a testament to his strong tactics.

This caused Tang Zhi Hua to even feel a subtle sense of accomplishment.

He sighed to Uncle Fang, “Being outside is not the same as being at home.”

Uncle Fang smiled, “It’s all thanks to your teaching that Young Master Tianyang can now take charge on his own. But Ying Teng’s fickleness is not a good look.”

“As long as a contract hasn’t been signed yet, then it doesn’t count as a betrayal.” Tang Zhi Hua shook his head.

But worry flashed across Uncle Fang’s brows. Knowing Young Master Tang well, he was very certain that he wouldn’t have just one trick up his sleeve, because even if Hua Yue was currently in a weak position, Young Master Tang could still convince Ying Teng to choose Hua Yue over the Tang family.

But he thought better of it and said nothing.

Because the chairman, of course, had a clearer view.

However just as Tang Tianyang was proudly celebrating National Day, a major crisis erupted at Ying Teng.

Like a domino effect, after one wall collapsed, it triggered a series of collapses.

And not only was Ying Teng affected severely, other companies that had collaborated with it also faced difficulties.

And the Tang Group, which had just signed a contract with Ying Teng, was left in shock.
