Chapter 57.1

Editor: Princess

Jin Yan was a restaurant that had gained popularity in Jiang City in recent years. Fu Shen had a stake in it and even had a private room reserved for him.

He went to pick Tang Zhou up, however Pi Xiu and the other two had arrived earlier and were now gathered around the table, chatting about the soon-to-arrive “sister-in-law”.

Pi Xiu was baffled: “Shen Ge’s daily routine is just work and home, how the hell did he even find time to date? He’s been hiding this way too well!”

“Could it be an online relationship?” Li Fengyu guessed.

Liang Cheng had always been sharper than them. Based on past and present clues, he had already formed a theory. He said, “Have you guys heard about the Tang Group’s President change?”

“I heard about it. Zhou Ge had it rough.” Pi Xiu sighed.

Li Fengyu was just as indignant. “The Tang family is full of heartless bastards.”

Liang Cheng continued, “Then have you heard any news about him lately?”

“Nope.”

“Nothing at all.”

Liang Cheng fell silent.

Pi Xiu and Li Fengyu knew him well. He never spoke without a reason, so they pressed, “Why are you bringing this up?”

Liang Cheng smirked. “You’ll see in a bit.”

The two were speechless.

Then the private room door swung open, and Fu Shen walked in—holding Tang Zhou’s hand. The two were completely stunned, staring dumbly at their interlocked fingers, unable to utter a word.

Liang Cheng was the first to react. He stood up, smiled, and reached out his hand. “Zhou Ge.”

Tang Zhou returned the handshake with a genuine smile. Then, looking at the two who were still frozen in shock, his grin widened, and he joked, “Junior Pi, Junior Li, don’t tell me you don’t recognize me anymore? We did work together for a while, after all.”

He had always been aloof and distant, never this approachable, so just as Pi Xiu and Li Fengyu snapped out of their daze, they were stunned all over again.

And amused by their dumbfounded expressions, Tang Zhou reached out first. “Nice to see you guys.”

The two idiots shook his hand in a daze, then mechanically sat back down, their gazes flickering to Fu Shen and Tang Zhou’s now-separated hands over and over again, wondering if they had just imagined it.

Fu Shen ignored their reactions completely. Casually, he picked up the menu, placed it in front of Tang Zhou, and said gently, “See what you like.”

Tang Zhou didn’t hold back. “This, this, this one, and that one too.”

The corners of Fu Shen’s lips curved up slightly. After taking back the menu, he looked up, suppressing his amusement. “Stop staring and order your food.”

“Oh, oh.” Pi Xiu and Li Fengyu buried their heads in the menu hurriedly.

Once the orders were placed, Pi Xiu finally gathered the courage to ask, “Shen Ge, Zhou Ge… are you guys really together?”

Fu Shen glanced at Tang Zhou first before answering, “En, we’re together.”

“….”

“….”

The ellipses perfectly captured their disbelief.

After all, neither of them had ever imagined that Fu Shen and Tang Zhou would end up together.

Because even if they weren’t exactly enemies, there had always been friction between them, right? So how did they suddenly become a couple?

Liang Cheng, on the other hand, wasn’t surprised at all. He offered his sincere blessings.

Tang Zhou used to live with a mask on, but now that he had let go of that burden, he seemed much more at ease. He was also livelier and more relaxed. The way he spoke, both in tone and content, was like a refreshing breeze.

Pi Xiu and Li Fengyu were easy to win over. Making it so that by the end of the dinner, they were completely sold on this “new” Tang Zhou, calling him “Tang Ge” with newfound enthusiasm.

Fu Shen was more than happy to see this, his eyes carrying a hint of a smile.

Liang Cheng thought to himself: Shen Ge has finally made it through the storm to see the clear sky.

The dinner ended on a great note, with everyone enjoying themselves.

On the way back, Tang Zhou gazed at the neon lights outside then suddenly said, “I want to introduce you to my friends too.”

Fu Shen stiffened slightly.

Tang Zhou’s only real friends were Lu Ye and Qiao Yuan.

Was he really willing to bring him along?

Lu Ye had a deep-seated bias against Fu Shen, so if he suddenly announced their relationship, he might just start questioning his entire existence.

As they were almost home, Tang Zhou asked, “Did you buy it?”

Fu Shen was confused. “Buy what?”

Tang Zhou sighed to himself. “Then we are sleeping separately tonight?”

Fu Shen: !!!

He took a slow, deep breath and said calmly, “I’ll take you home first.”

“Oh.”

Fu Shen dropped Tang Zhou off at his apartment complex, then immediately turned around to buy it.

The heat in his chest kept building, little by little, as if waiting for the moment to reach its limit and explode all at once.

When he got back, Tang Zhou had just finished his shower and was drying his hair, the bit of his neck peeking out from the collar so pale it was almost dazzling.

His gaze darkened instantly.

Walking over, he took the hairdryer, and dried Tang Zhou’s hair slowly before tossing it aside.

Tang Zhou lifted his bright, glistening eyes.

Fu Shen stared at him. “I bought it.”

Tang Zhou’s lips curled into a smile. “Then let’s see if it works?”

The kiss landed in a rush, the world spun, and Tang Zhou’s back sank into the soft bedding.

Right before he got completely swept away, Tang Zhou thought to himself vaguely, damn, when an old house catches fire, it really burns like hell!

And it burned for hours before dying down.

Half-conscious, Tang Zhou reached out, tracing Fu Shen’s sharp, handsome face. “Do you like me?”

He’d asked Fu Shen this last night, but he never got an answer, and it still bothered him.

Fu Shen kissed him by the ear, serious and firm.

“I love you.”

He kissed his eyes.

“I love you.”

Then his lips.

“I love you.”

He’d kept these words buried inside for a long, long time.

Tang Zhou fell asleep completely satisfied, a soft smile still lingering on his lips.

Fu Shen stared at that smile, his heart brimming with warmth.
