Chapter 55.2
Editor: Princess
Fu Shen froze for a moment, saying nothing as he stared into those jewel-like eyes.
Tang Zhou asked again, “Do you hate me?”
This time, his voice sounded even more aggrieved, and his eyes glistened like they were about to well up with tears.
Snapping back to reality, Fu Shen said immediately, “I don’t hate you.”
Tang Zhou took the opening and went straight for the kill. “Then do you like me?”
The living room fell silent again.
Fu Shen avoided Tang Zhou’s gaze, his hands unconsciously crumpling the document.
Tang Zhou had held back for days. This man was right in front of him all the time—he could see but not touch. It was torture. So, he ditched the slow approach and decided to provoke him instead.
“Have you ever been in a relationship?” He asked outright.
However Fu Shen was, after all, President Fu—not some clueless teenager. He quickly composed himself and said coldly, “Aren’t we supposed to be discussing work?”
Tang Zhou said, “I like someone and want to be with him. If I get my heart broken, it will definitely affect my work.”
In other words, what he was saying was, in fact, work-related.
Fu Shen lowered his head and was silent for a long time. Then, he placed the document on the coffee table, got up, and turned his back to Tang Zhou. “You don’t have to tell me when you move out.”
So that’s what all his previous questions had been leading up to.
All that “Am I bothering you?” and “I like someone” talk—it was just his roundabout way of saying he wanted to move out but was too embarrassed to say it outright.
If that was the case, he would grant his wish.
He didn’t want to stay any longer, and so turned to leave for his bedroom.
Tang Zhou was stunned—he wasn’t done yet!
“Fu Shen, what do you mean?!” He hurried to block the man’s path, just about to continue speaking, until Fu Shen’s gaze froze him in place.
He had never seen Fu Shen like this. His eyes were dark as if soaked in ink, with a faint crimson at the edges, intimidating and inescapable, making one’s heart tremble.
Then he heard Fu Shen’s voice, cold as ice. “As long as it doesn’t affect business, I won’t withdraw my investment.”
No matter how turbulent his emotions were inside, Fu Shen still couldn’t bring himself to let Tang Zhou worry.
Tang Zhou was stunned for only a few seconds before snapping out of it. Seeing how intense Fu Shen’s reaction was to the idea of him dating, what was there to hesitate about?
He grabbed Fu Shen’s wrist firmly, giving him no chance to resist. His gaze firm as he emphazised, “I like you. I want to be with you.”
“The fact that you’re in a relationship has nothing to do with m—”
But before he could finish the last word, he forcefully swallowed it back. Fu Shen thought he must have misheard. He stared straight at Tang Zhou, eyes filled with disbelief.
Tang Zhou had known him for years and was always quick with sweet talk. “Even if the old man kicked me out, I could have gone to Lu Ye, or to Qiao Yuan. Why did I come to you, of all people? Even if you were my only option, I’ve had plenty of time to move into Jiangxin Garden. So why am I still here?”
Tang Zhou locked eyes with him, those deep, ocean-dark eyes, and spoke, light but firm: “Fu Shen, I like you. Do you like me?”
Fu Shen stared at him, nearly speechless. Then he squeezed his eyes shut, opened them, shut them again, and opened them once more.
—He suspected he was dreaming.
Tang Zhou found his reaction both heart-wrenching and amusing. He grabbed Fu Shen’s hand, slipping his own cold fingers into that warm palm, and called softly, “Fu Shen.”
The sudden chill in his grasp snapped Fu Shen back to reality.
He neither tightened his grip nor pulled away. He just loosely held that delicate, pale hand, staying completely still.
Tang Zhou was just about to tease him again when Fu Shen abruptly let go, his face unreadable as he took a step back.
Tang Zhou’s eyes widened. Was that step back for real?!
Then he heard Fu Shen speak: “You like me?”
He nodded without hesitation.
Fu Shen studied his expression, and his gaze instantly darkened. His face blank, he reached out, grasped Tang Zhou’s chin, tilted it up slightly, and repeated the question:
“You like me?”
The pressure of his fingers wasn’t too strong or too light, yet Tang Zhou felt trapped, as if caged in an invisible enclosure, unable to escape.
Tang Zhou couldn’t nod, so he could only answer with a soft “En.”
The man’s handsome face suddenly leaned in, their noses nearly touching. His sharp gaze roamed over Tang Zhou’s face, as if searching for something.
Tang Zhou’s eyes widened slightly—not in fear or hesitation, but with a hint of anticipation.
Fu Shen frowned inside. This wasn’t how things were supposed to go.
He was this close—shouldn’t Tang Zhou be disgusted and back away?
Was it… not enough?
So he moved in even closer, his bold gaze lowering slowly, landing on Tang Zhou’s slightly flushed, glossy lips. His intent was clear.
But Tang Zhou still didn’t move away.
Fu Shen lifted his eyes again, dark as ink, deep enough to make one shudder. “Do you know what happens if you date me?”
That low, raspy voice clutched Tang Zhou’s heart like a hook.
His body stiffened slightly—here it was! Fu Shen always used this voice right before things got intense!
Fu Shen, sharp as ever, noticed the stiffness. A hint of self-mockery flashed through his eyes, and he was about to let go when Tang Zhou spoke: “I’m not a kid, of course I know.”
Was he… forcing himself to stay calm?
Fu Shen really couldn’t figure out what Tang Zhou was trying to do.
Was he messing with him? A dare? Or was there something else going on?
Fu Shen knew he was already knee-deep in this mess. He didn’t care how Tang Zhou treated him, but he never did business at a loss.
“How about this, then?”
He lowered his head, pressing his lips lightly against Tang Zhou’s. The moment they touched, his mind went completely blank. Every plan, every thought vanished—leaving only that softness.
It was a thousand times better than he had imagined.
Originally, he had only meant to graze him, just to give Tang Zhou a little scare. But now, he found himself addicted to that soft sweetness.
Fu Shen snapped back to his senses, and in an instant, flames ignited in his eyes.
He let go of Tang Zhou’s chin, grabbed the back of his head, and wrapped an arm around his back, pulling him completely into his embrace.
The man parted his lips clumsily, exploring deeper awkwardly, with no technique at all—just a messy, reckless entanglement.
Tang Zhou found it amusing. This level of inexperience, no way he’d been in a relationship before.
He didn’t resist at all. Instead, he fully surrendered to Fu Shen’s pace, which shifted from slow to fast in an instant.
Years of suppressed emotions erupted like a flood. Fu Shen completely forgot about his plan to scare Tang Zhou. He was already drowning in the sweetness, unable to stop.
He was addicted now, and he probably wouldn’t be able to quit for the rest of his life.
Like a ravenous wolf, he kissed Tang Zhou from the living room to the bedroom, then onto the bed. Tang Zhou’s lips turned a deep rose-red from the kisses, his shirt was pulled open, and red marks trailed down his skin.
Just as his pants were about to be lost as well, he suddenly stopped the already dazed Fu Shen.
Fu Shen’s eyes were red, his lips curved into a mocking smile. “Didn’t you want to date?”
Tang Zhou stared at him speechlessly. “Do you even have protection at home?”
“….”
He really didn’t.
