Chapter 54.2
Editor: Princess
Tang Zhou, who supposedly knew what he was doing, actually brought up the collaboration with Fu Shen right after dinner.
“Investment?” Fu Shen was a little surprised.
Tang Zhou nodded, his expression serious. “I’ve left the Tang Group. I want to start my own venture.”
Then after laying out his well-thought-out project plan, he asked, “Are you willing to invest?”
In the real world, he had led Huayue for many years, repeatedly expanding its business directions, so his understanding of these projects was second to none.
Fu Shen listened carefully, and with his sharp market sense, he was immediately drawn to Tang Zhou’s project. And genuinely impressed by Tang Zhou’s abilities, he asked decisively, “How much do you need?”
Smiling, Tang Zhou threw out a number.
Fu Shen nodded. “Okay.”
“You’re not even asking how the shares will be divided?” Tang Zhou rested his chin on his hand, his light brown eyes brimming with curiosity.
Fu Shen froze for a moment, then lowered his gaze. “What does President Tang think?”
“Five percent?”
Fu Shen said without the slightest bit of hesitation, “Alright.”
Tang Zhou: “…..”
The investment he needed this time was way more than the five million from back then, and Fu Shen just agreed to five percent?
Seriously, he was so naive it made one’s heart ache.
**
Since Tang Zhou moved into Fu Shen’s house, neither of them mentioned anything about moving out, as if they’d both agreed quietly to forget about it.
And just like that, cohabitation became an unspoken agreement.
As for being an assistant, that naturally became irrelevant the moment Tang Zhou proposed a cooperation.
Tang Zhou was always quick and efficient, hence within just two days, he already had his proposal and all related documents ready.
Wearing an oversized set of pajamas, he knocked on the door to Fu Shen’s study.
Fu Shen opened the door quickly, and the first thing he saw was someone’s porcelain-white neck, his delicate collarbone, and the smooth skin peeking out from the oversized neckline.
He felt a pang of guilt. He’d been so distracted these past two days that he’d forgotten to buy clothes in the right size.
Tang Zhou handed over a few documents, his eyes sparkling like glass under the study’s warm light.
“Take a look.”
Fu Shen took them slowly.
He trusted Tang Zhou’s abilities and hadn’t planned to read them carefully. However the thought that spending more time on the documents meant Tang Zhou would stay longer made him stand there dumbly, reading right at the door.
Tang Zhou raised an eyebrow. “Why don’t you go back into the study to read?”
Fu Shen glanced up at him, then stepped aside. “There might be some points we need to discuss, so come in too.”
“Alright.”
The study was filled with a light, refreshing incense that smelled pleasant and calming.
There were two chairs in the study, and having worked here a few times before, Tang Zhou dragged one over skillfully and sat down.
Fu Shen went through each page carefully. Tang Zhou wasn’t in a rush and sat beside him patiently, waiting.
He rested his chin on one hand, tilting his head to gaze at Fu Shen’s profile, a faint smile playing on his lips.
Fu Shen had only wanted to stall for time, however Tang Zhou’s proposal was very thorough, leaving him with no objections. He wasn’t sure how to stretch this moment longer until his eyes landed on the equity division in the contract, which made him frown slightly.
“Didn’t you say five percent?”
He suddenly looked up at Tang Zhou, only to freeze when he caught the smile on Tang Zhou’s face.
Tang Zhou’s smile faded. “Your investment is worth thirty percent on its own.”
Fu Shen obviously disagreed. “That’s too high.”
He couldn’t figure out what Tang Zhou’s intentions were. Wasn’t five percent more advantageous?
Tang Zhou chuckled.
And meeting Fu Shen’s surprised gaze, he said, “President Fu, most businessmen wouldn’t even think fifty percent is too much, so why are you only willing to take five?”
Fu Shen couldn’t handle Tang Zhou’s teasing smile, so he turned his head away, keeping his face expressionless and silent.
Tang Zhou stopped teasing him and said seriously. “Fu Shen, setting aside any past misunderstandings between us, you’ve helped me a lot. An investment isn’t charity—do you really think your money is only worth five percent?”
Fu Shen suddenly turned back and stared at him. “A normal businessman wouldn’t turn five into thirty. Why are you doing this?”
From the start, neither of them treated this like a serious business negotiation. The way they divided the shares felt more like playing house—oddly casual, yet strangely in sync.
Tang Zhou was momentarily speechless.
Of course, he didn’t want the person he loved to get the short end of the stick.
But that wasn’t something he could explain to Fu Shen right now.
What’s more even his past self wouldn’t have believed that he’d one day fall in love with the man in front of him.
However he didn’t dodge Fu Shen’s question. Instead, he compromised quietly. “Then let’s make it twenty-five.”
Before Fu Shen could respond, he added a threat immediately: “If you argue again, I’ll find someone else to invest.”
Fu Shen: “…..”
He couldn’t figure out what Tang Zhou was thinking, and his mind was a mess, however he didn’t want Tang Zhou to go to anyone else.
And noticing Fu Shen’s hesitation, Tang Zhou nailed it down. “It’s settled then.”
Fu Shen’s gaze deepened. “Alright.”
If Tang Zhou ever wanted to take back the shares in the future, he’d cooperate fully.
