Chapter 51.4

Editor: Jodi

Hua Yue and Deep Blue were in a growth phase, and Tang Zhou and Fu Shen were both so busy that they hardly had time together. This, however, only made them cherish each other more.

While juggling work, Fu Shen managed to complete his courses and graduated a year early.

On the day he received his diploma, he called Lu Ye.

“I remember you owe me two favors.”

Lu Ye: “…”

To repay the favors, Lu Ye followed his “orders” and reached out to Tang Zhou.

After two years, Hua Yue’s operations had stabilized, so Tang Zhou finally had a little breathing room.

So when Lu Ye called him, he had just finished a swim in his villa’s pool.

“What’s up?”

“The new movie is going to F Country for a film festival. Come with me.”

“I’m not interested.” Tang Zhou said in response. Although he was an investor, he never involved himself in movie matters.

“Think of it as a short break. It’s just two days. You haven’t participated in any of the previous films—come along this time.” Lu Ye insisted, hinting that he’d keep pestering him until he agreed.

Tang Zhou thought it over. He had a business meeting in F Country that he had planned to send someone else to handle. With Lu Ye so insistent, he figured he might as well attend himself.

So, he agreed.

That evening, when Fu Shen came home, Tang Zhou told him about it. Fu Shen pretended to be disappointed, “So I won’t see you for two days?”

Feeling distressed, Tang Zhou planned an intense, passionate “session” that night.

However Fu Shen hugged him close. “You have a flight tomorrow, so let’s wait till you’re back.”

Touched, Tang Zhou shared a long, tender kiss with him.

The next day, Fu Shen drove him to the airport himself, and after they met up with Lu Ye, he exchanged a look with him.

Lu Ye said solemnly, “Don’t worry. I’ll take good care of Tang Zhou.”

Tang Zhou: “…” He wasn’t a child.

**

F Country was known for its romance and hospitality, and Tang Zhou felt this warmth in his business dealings.

Because after finalizing the deal, the representative stood up and, with a dazzling smile, asked, “Mr. Tang, would you like to have dinner with me?”

Tang Zhou, expressionless, replied, “I’m sorry, I have other plans.”

The representative was persistent, his words becoming more daring. “Wouldn’t a romantic encounter abroad make this trip more enjoyable?”

Tang Zhou: “I already have someone I love.”

The representative glanced at his hand. “But you aren’t wearing a ring.”

Tang Zhou just smiled and let the subject drop.

Back at the hotel, lying on an unfamiliar bed, Tang Zhou found himself thinking about Fu Shen.

He had promised that they would marry once Fu Shen graduated.

When he got home, he’d start planning the proposal.

The next morning, Lu Ye surprised him with a custom-tailored suit, saying with a smile, “Put this on.”

Tang Zhou raised an eyebrow. “What’s wrong with what I’m wearing?”

Lu Ye shook his head decisively. “We’re attending a film festival, not a business meeting. What you’re wearing is too somber.”

“Alright.” Tang Zhou agreed.

When it came to fashion, he trusted Lu Ye’s expertise.

The suit was custom-made for Tang Zhou, and so fit him perfectly, showing off his tall, lean figure to the fullest.

Lu Ye even went all out, hiring a professional team to style him up.

Tang Zhou: “…I’m not a celebrity.”

But Lu Ye was insistent. “This is necessary. We can’t lose face.”

After all the fussing, Tang Zhou finally appeared in full glory, leaving everyone in the room absolutely stunned.

Ai Mo looked at him with literal stars in his eyes. “Tang Shen is way too handsome, like some noble king looking down on his subjects.”

Everyone else: “…”

Writers and their wild imaginations.

The “noble king” couldn’t help but laugh. “Ready to go?”

Lu Ye: “Let’s go!”

Tang Zhou got bundled into the luxurious car, with Lu Ye in the driver’s seat, and Qiao Yuan and Ai Mo sitting next to him.

Tang Zhou was surprised: “Lu Ye, you’re driving yourself?”

Lu Ye just gave a vague “En” keeping his Bluetooth headset on as he spoke to someone else, “We’re on the way, just hang tight a little longer.”

However as the scenery outside flashed by quickly, Tang Zhou started realizing that something was off.

He turned to Qiao Yuan, saying coolly, “This isn’t the right road, is it?”

He caught a flicker of surprise and panic in Qiao Yuan’s eyes.

“Where exactly are you guys taking me?”

Qiao Yuan: “…”

“You’ll find out when we get there.” Lu Ye cut him off from pressing further. “Relax, we’re not selling you off.”

Tang Zhou tried another question, “Who were you just talking to?”

“Take a guess.”

“……”

Tang Zhou had a hunch but didn’t say anything.

They drove in silence the rest of the way, then finally stopped in front of a church.

His suspicion finally solidified.

He felt both nervous and excited in his heart, though his face wore a chilly, unreadable look that made Qiao Yuan and Ai Mo a bit uneasy.

Lu Ye scratched his nose awkwardly. “Let’s go in.”

The three of them escorted Tang Zhou to the entrance of the church. The archway loomed tall and solemn, and none of them knew what awaited inside.

Then, the huge doors swung open.

Tang Zhou’s gaze passed through the widening gap, then locked onto a pair of deep, steady eyes.

Lu Ye, Qiao Yuan, and Ai Mo had vanished.

After the doors opened fully, Tang Zhou kept a deliberately stern face, about to ask for an explanation when Fu Shen spoke first, solemn and full of feeling.

“Tang Zhou.”

The tall, handsome man, dressed in a matching suit, was kneeling inside on one knee. The sunlight angled perfectly, casting glimmers of gold in his amber-colored eyes.

Holding a ring, he said the words he had kept hidden in his heart for so long:

“Tang Zhou, are you willing to spend the rest of your life with me?”

Tang Zhou couldn’t deny that he felt a bit robbed, since someone had clearly stolen the lead in this plan of his.

However right then and there, he couldn’t bring himself to say no.

Standing at the entrance, bathed in the light, looking down at the handsome man on one knee, he found himself unable to speak, feeling only his heart pounding wildly in his chest.

And so, with no hesitation, he stretched his hand out.

“I’m willing.”
