Chapter 45.2

Editor: Jodi

Dinner that night was hotpot, with everyone gathered around the table, the ingredients spread out generously.

They all raised their glasses to toast the birthday boy.

Tang Zhou, the main focus of the night, was very happy. He poured himself a drink, the amber liquid tinting the clear glass a beautiful glaze.

By the end of the dinner, the table was a mess.

Tang Zhou, having drunk too much, was dozing off on the sofa, while Lu Ye and Fu Shen were still drinking, as if in a competition.

Qiao Yuan and Pi Xiu were sprawled over the table, completely out of it.

Surprisingly, it was Ai Mo, who seemed like the weakest drinker that was still relatively sober.

Holding his glass, he sat next to Mi Shu, who was far away from the crowd. “Come on, cheers!”

Mi Shu moved farther away silently.

However the drunk Ai Mo, oblivious to the disdain, decided to stick even closer when he sensed Mi Shu’s avoidance.

“Why aren’t you talking? Do you hate me? Tell me what you hate about me! How am I supposed to know if you don’t say anything? I really don’t know what I did wrong. Am I that awful? Woo woo woo… I do all the chores at home, I earn the money, and yet you run off with the cash? And you didn’t even leave me a single dollar! You heartless jerk, woo woo….”

As he rambled on, he began to cry, his sobs very real and heart breaking. He clung to Mi Shu, making it look like Mi Shu was the scumbag.

Mi Shu: “…”

Deciding to escape the situation, he got up to head to his bedroom, only for his leg to be held firmly.

Mi Shu: “…” He had never met someone who was so talented at causing a scene unreasonably like this!

“Let go.”

Ai Mo hiccuped, “I won’t! Pay me back!”

“You’ve got the wrong person.”

Ai Mo: “Woo woo woo.”

Mi Shu’s head felt as if it was about to explode. He tried to pry him off, but Ai Mo held on tightly. Short of sawing off Ai Mo’s hands or his own leg, there was no way to shake him off.

Taking a deep breath, he told him, “I’ll help you, just let go.”

A tear rolled down Ai Mo’s cheek as he looked up at him. “Really?”

He looked delicate, with red-rimmed eyes that made him look oddly cute.

Mi Shu’s usually indifferent gaze softened slightly.

“Really.” Finding someone who ran off with money was a trivial task for him.

Ai Mo sniffed, “What if you lie to me?”

“Believe it or not.”

“Prove it now!”

Mi Shu looked down at him. Unexpectedly his logic was intact even though he was drunk.

“Come with me.”

Ai Mo followed behind him obediently into Mi Shu’s room, then the door closed silently behind them.

The living room gradually fell quiet.

Lu Ye, his face flushed, patted Fu Shen on the shoulder, slurring, “You…… you can really hold your liquor! Next… next time we’ll have another go…”

Fu Shen’s vision was a bit blurred, however he was much more sober than Lu Ye.

Avoiding Lu Ye’s hand, he glanced around at the others who had collapsed in various states, sighing softly.

They were in October, which meant the weather was cooling down, so sleeping like this could easily lead to one getting sick. Fu Shen had no choice but to drag everyone back to their rooms one by one.

When it came to Lu Ye and Qiao Yuan, he was stumped.

There were only four rooms upstairs. Should he take Lu Ye and Qiao Yuan back?

It seemed like that was the only option.

He patted Lu Ye’s face, “Hold onto Qiao Yuan and follow me.”

Lu Ye was bleary-eyed, “Oh.”

Then using the table as a support, he made his way to Qiao Yuan.

And seeing that Lu Ye could manage on his own, Fu Shen felt relieved and turned his attention to Tang Zhou.

Tang Zhou was sound asleep.

And not wanting to wake him, he lifted him up into his arms gently, then following Lu Ye and Qiao Yuan, made his way downstairs.

There were also four rooms downstairs, however the other two rooms didn’t have any bedding.

Fu Shen told Lu Ye to take Qiao Yuan to his own room, while he carried Tang Zhou to the master bedroom.

The smell of alcohol was lingering on them, and given the circumstances, it was probably impossible for him to take a shower.

So Fu Shen fetched a warm towel then started to wipe Tang Zhou’s face gently. He was careful not to use too much force, afraid he might wake him up or that the towel would scratch his face and cause him discomfort.

Tang Zhou’s skin was exceptionally fine and smooth, and up close, he could even see the delicate, fine hairs on his face.

The warm towel seemed to make Tang Zhou feel comfortable, because he let out a soft sigh, his lips curving into a slight smile.

Unable to resist, Fu Shen bent down and planted a gentle kiss on his cheek.

Then after freezing for a moment, kissed him again.

Tang Zhou who was sleeping soundly had completely forgotten about the TT they had bought.

The night passed quickly.

When Tang Zhou woke up, he heard the sound of running water from the bathroom and guessed that Fu Shen was taking a shower.

He sniffed himself and noticed the strong smell of alcohol— It wasn’t pleasant.

The sound of the water in the bathroom stopped, then not long after, the bathroom door opened.

Fu Shen came out, toweling his hair dry, and when their eyes met, he couldn’t help but smile. Then walking over to the bed, he bent down and was about to give Tang Zhou a good morning kiss when Tang Zhou blocked him with his hand.

Fu Shen: ?

Tang Zhou was embarrassed, “I didn’t shower last night. I smell terrible. Wait for me to finish taking a shower first.”

With that, he got out of bed quickly, grabbed some clean clothes, then walked into the bathroom.

And Fu Shen, taking advantage of the fact that Tang Zhou was showering, opened the window to ventilate the place and changed the alcohol-scented bed sheets.

The whole time, he wore a leisurely, contented smile, as if even these trivial tasks could bring him endless satisfaction.

Tang Zhou cleaned himself thoroughly then came out from the bathroom only to find the curtains wide open. Sunlight streamed through the glass, crawling across the floor mischievously. The bed sheets had been replaced, leaving the room tidy and fresh.

The air was filled with the light, elegant scent of a fresh spray.

And sitting by the window on a single armchair was the handsome Fu Shen, who looked up, his eyes glinting with specks of light as he looked at Tang Zhou with warmth and deep affection.

In that instant, an overwhelming sense of happiness exploded in Tang Zhou’s chest, making everything within his sight seem like a synonym for beauty.

Clutching his towel, he pounced on Fu Shen, moving in for a kiss.

And bathed in the gentle sunlight, Tang Zhou felt as if he was drunk once more.

His heart overflowing with love, he found that just a mere kissing could no longer suffice.

A wave of passionate heat swept over the two of them.

Fu Shen carried him to the bed, lowering his head to kiss Tang Zhou’s smooth, jade-like skin, when a sudden noise from the living room startled the two of them.

Tang Zhou looked at him in confusion: There’s someone in the house?

Fu Shen held his forehead helplessly. He had forgotten that Lu Ye and Qiao Yuan had stayed over last night.

They could faintly hear Lu Ye’s anxious apologies from the living room faintly. Tang Zhou and Fu Shen looked at each other, then decided to get up to see what was going on.

The moment they stepped out of the bedroom, they saw Qiao Yuan standing by the sofa with a flushed face, while Lu Ye stood at the doorway, flustered and unsure, not daring to approach.

Tang Zhou asked calmly, “What happened?”

Qiao Yuan didn’t say anything, while Lu Ye, seeing their bright and happy appearances, felt a pang of envy. Then resigning himself to the situation, confessed:

“I woke up just now and saw Xiao Yuan. I thought I was still dreaming and, and, and just kissed him, which scared him.”

Tang Zhou was expressionless, “That’s all?”

Lu Ye: “…..”

Qiao Yuan: “…”

Wasn’t this a big deal?

Tang Zhou asked Qiao Yuan, “Do you dislike Lu Ye?”

Qiao Yuan shook his head hurriedly.

Tang Zhou then asked, “Did you feel disgusted when he kissed you just now?”

Qiao Yuan froze, then frowned, unsure of how to respond.

Lu Ye’s hopeful expression dimmed immediately.

And seeing this, Tang Zhou lost interest and said, “You both reek of alcohol, it’s really unpleasant. Go take a shower first, then we’ll talk.”

The two, at a loss, could only listen and go into the bathroom obediently.

The moment they disappeared, Tang Zhou held his stomach, “I’m hungry.”

Fu Shen said immediately, “I’ll make something.”

“Let’s do it together.”

Breakfast was made with a complete mix of affectionate exchanges. Tang Zhou planted a kiss on Fu Shen’s face, not mincing his compliments, “You’re really amazing!”

Qiao Yuan, having finished his shower, had been planning to enter the kitchen to ask if they needed help, but froze when he saw this.

“You two….”

Fu Shen wrapped his arm around Tang Zhou’s waist in a natural manner, then kissed him on the lips in front of Qiao Yuan, looking completely at ease.

“I love him.”

Qiao Yuan: “…”

Since when? How come he didn’t know?!
