Chapter 57.3

Editor: Princess

Back at the old mansion, Tang Zhou felt an odd sense of unfamiliarity.

He held Fu Shen’s hand boldly as they walked into the courtyard, completely ignoring Uncle Fang’s hesitant gaze.

Tang Zhihua was watering the flowers, and hearing footsteps, he put down the watering can and turned around, only to explode in rage when he saw their tightly clasped hands. “Ah Zhou, you’re really with him?!”

Fu Shen’s expression remained calm as he nodded politely. “Old Master Tang.”

Nothing more needed to be said.

Whereas Tang Zhou acted like he didn’t even notice the anger on his face. His tone was flat. “You wanted to see me. What for?”

His attitude made Tang Zhihua’s heart sink straight to the bottom of the ocean.

“Ah Zhou, if you do this, what’s going to happen to your businesses in the future?”

Tang Zhou replied indifferently, “That’s my own business. Besides, even if I had children, it’s not like they’d necessarily be able to keep it together.”

Tang Zhen and Tang Tianyang were living proof of that.

Tang Zhihua choked on his words.

“If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going.” Tang Zhou really didn’t want to waste any more time. He still had to go over wedding details with Fu Shen.

“Ah Zhou!” Tang Zhihua called out to him, his usual authoritative and imposing voice finally softening. “Your father is useless. After I… in the future, can you—”

“No.” Tang Zhou cut him off firmly, leaving no room for negotiation.

Once Tang Tianyang got out of prison, he could be the one to take care of him.

Tang Zhihua finally accepted his fate.

He didn’t blame Tang Zhou.

He had been wrong, and so had Tang Zhen. They had forced Tang Zhou away with their own hands, yet now they had the nerve to come seeking forgiveness and support. It was pure greed.

“Go on.” Tang Zhihua sighed and waved his hand.

Tang Zhou looked at the old man’s weary figure and said solemnly, “Grandpa, you raised me, and I’ll always remember that. Now that it’s time for you to enjoy your later years, just leave everything to me.”

In other words, there’s no need to meddle, just focus on tending to your flowers and living peacefully.

Tang Zhihua’s hunched back stiffened slightly, but he said nothing more.

Leaving the old house, Tang Zhou felt a little down.

Fu Shen held his hand, his eyes full of warmth. “Keeping the house was already the biggest comfort you could give him.”

If it weren’t for Tang Zhou, the Tang family’s house would have been auctioned off during the bankruptcy liquidation.

Smiling, Tang Zhou kissed him.

Whether in reality or in dreams, the man in front of him was his greatest happiness.

When Lu Ye received the wedding invitation, he was completely dumbfounded.

He called Tang Zhou immediately, disbelief in his voice. “Are you playing truth or dare?”

Tang Zhou couldn’t hold back his laughter. “It’s real. If you’re free, want to be my groomsman?”

Before Lu Ye could respond, Tang Zhou added, “Qiao Yuan is coming too.”

Lu Ye swallowed the words he was about to say and simply answered, “Alright.”

This time, Tang Zhou and Fu Shen planned the wedding together. In the real world, Fu Shen had kept it a secret from him, leaving him with a tiny bit of regret. This time, he wanted to be the one in charge.

Tang Zhou still chose that church in F Country.

The day before the wedding, they checked into the hotel.

Lu Ye waited until Fu Shen wasn’t around, then came to find Tang Zhou, looking awkward and conflicted. “Tang Zhou, do you really like him?”

“Of course.” Tang Zhou knew exactly what he was overthinking and teased, “If you mind, then—”

Lu Ye waved his hand. “That’s not what I meant. Who you’re with is your own choice. I just don’t want him to bully you.”

He wasn’t some naive kid anymore. After experiencing the ups and downs of the business world, he understood that a lot of things weren’t within one’s control.

Fu Shen’s past had driven him to go after Qiao Chengan ruthlessly, and he could understand that.

But his stance was to protect Qiao Yuan. He couldn’t stand seeing him caught in the crossfire.

Now that Tang Zhou was marrying Fu Shen, he had no right to object and could only sincerely wish them happiness.

Suddenly, the door was pushed open from outside.

Lu Ye turned around and met Fu Shen’s tall, striking figure.

Fu Shen nodded politely. “President Lu.”

Lu Ye nodded. “Congratulations, President Fu.” He paused for a moment, then added seriously, “Tang Zhou is my friend. I hope you’ll always treat him with sincerity.”

“I will.”

**

The next day, the sun was bright, and everything was full of life.

Inside the church, solemn and sacred, the guests sat quietly.

The priest’s ethereal voice rang out, “Now, the groom may kiss the groom.”

Fu Shen reached out, wrapped his arm around Tang Zhou’s waist, and kissed him devoutly in front of everyone.

And closing his eyes, Tang Zhou responded gently.
